I love BB Salon! After years of going to Great Clips/Super Cuts/whatever's closest (and waiting to do so every time until I hated my hair so much I couldn't put it off any longer) I decided that it was time for an upgrade. I'm in my 30s, I have a real job, I own a car and a house, I should probably spend more than $12 getting my hair handled. I made an appointment at BB based on the Yelp reviews. The system works! Brooke was super nice on the phone and set me up with an appointment with Amy. I already knew where BB was because I drive by it all the time, but it's worth noting that the building's paint job is super cute. Amy is adorable and friendly and I love talking to her. She's creative and skilled, and when I say "do whatever, I trust you", my trust is not misguided. Today was my 3rd appointment and I already feel like we're pals (omg I hope she likes me too). I finally met Brooke in person today and she was also very friendly, and complimented me on my color. I color my own hair, and it's rare to get a compliment on the color from someone who could make money off of me. She said that since my hair is short, it would be silly to spend a bunch of money on professional color. I love her, y'all. After my cut today, I went ahead and made my next appointment for four weeks out instead of five--I enjoy getting my hair cut THAT much now. read more

Had another awesome trip to see Brooke. I was thinking about getting a Keratin treatment on my hair so I could easily straighten it for a friend's wedding, but I was having some second thoughts and I think Brooke could tell. She reminded me that I have beautiful natural curls and there are a lot of great things I could do for the wedding. She even showed me a few things to suggest to the stylist for the wedding party - it's in VA so I can't get Brooke to do my hair :( I love that she didn't tell me to get the Keratin treatment just to get another dollar. I had also mentioned that I was worried about crying during the ceremony and getting mascara on my face. Brooke suggested tinting my eyebrows - something I never would have thought of. What really brought me to BB Salon the first time is the esthetician, Marisa. She is just awesome at everything she does. It is obvious that she cares about her customers. Her eyebrow waxes are the best, never over done and exactly what you want. Her facials are truly relaxing and healing. I've also gotten my hair cut and colored there by Abby. Abby rocks! She totally listened to me but also offered suggestions. I have had two totally different styles done by her and each one was awesome. The last time I went I got my hair colored and highlights done and she managed to get exactly what I wanted. I've gone to so many salons and they either don't listen to your or afraid to offer suggestions. I've never had so many compliments about my hair. YES! I followed Brooke when she opened up her first business and I'll never stray. She has helped me grow my hair long and has perfected a way to make it look so much fuller than it is (I have thin hair). Abby is awesome is well and knows her way around curly hair. I love BB salon, but am a new client. I came to BB just a few weeks ago with my favorite hairstylist Kate. Kate is amazing with cuts, color (especially blonde), and gives great advice as to how to best approach growth and repair. She will help you figure out the best plan for your hair or will help you make quick decisions if you're looking to do something for a fast change. She is the best !!! I will follow Kate anywhere, but having her at BB is great. The rest of the staff is kind, welcoming, and came highly recommended. The shop is small but parking is easy and fast. It is affordable and they get you in and out without issues. Highly recommended to all who want fabulous hair! read more

I have lived in the Atlanta area for a year. And it's embarrassing to admit that for more than 12 months I have totally neglected my hair and have not had one haircut or trim or anything! When I lived in South Carolina (prior to living in Georgia) I had a great stylist that I would see. Since moving to GA, I've had a really hard time finding a good Esthetician for my eyebrows so I've been too stressed to even start trying to find a good stylist for my hair that I didn't even bother looking, I just let my hair go. I finally started looking for someone when the split ends were getting out of control and it was becoming kind of hideous! I did some research and thanks to fellow yelpers came across BB Salon. I had actually first called another place that had equally great reviews and made an appointment with them (six weeks in advance too I want to add!). Then they had to cancel that appointment because the stylist had a conflict so to reschedule I basically had to wait another 6 weeks! There's a reason why I am bringing this up. When I called BB Salon, it was the culmination of my pathetic quest for a good Esthetician and Stylist and this other salon canceling my appointment that caused me to have diarrhea of the mouth and vent about not understanding why it is soo difficult to get a good appointment in Atlanta! Brooke answered the phone and just listened and turned into a therapist for five minutes! She then came to the rescue and was able to book me an appointment the NEXT day with one of her highly rated stylists named Amy (who I will talk about in a second!). First this review needs to take a second to commend Brooke for listening to my hysteria and for solving my problem in mins, I can't say thanks enough! And now to talk about Amy. Amy has magic hands. *Sigh.* When I walked in, my hair looked TERRIBLE. I have always pretty much kept the same length at shoulder height or a bit longer. But because I had totally ignored my hair for so long and it was too thin and stringy and filled with split ends, when Amy asked me how much I wanted cut off, I told her that I actually didn't care, to cut as much as she wanted to. I reassured her that if I didn't like it, it would grow back, but to really take as much as she thought needed to be taken off. Best conversation ever! Amy is an artist and went to work and cut chunks off. My hair has never been so short and I found myself surprised to not mind the huge strands she was chopping off. Through it all she was doing some amazing layering and when it was done the styling she did was superb. I felt like I had a 50's bob and LOVED it. I walked out feeling amazing. I have never had so many compliments on my hair in my life! I saw Amy again yesterday for a trim and she took the time to show my how she styled it and even had me try curling it the right way. She is not only incredibly nice and really good at what she does, but she cares. Soo, here are a couple of words of advice if you go to BB Salon: - There is a small parking lot and it's just a bit tight. If you have a smaller car, use it. - They have a very convenient online booking system. Saves time and it's super user friendly. - Don't be fooled by the lack of decor. Aesthetically, the space looks very simple, but the quality of the service is stellar. - The prices match what you get. This is not a SuperCuts. I think the price reflects the work and is fair. - Lastly, enjoy your cut and hope you have a great experience too! read more

Went to the new BB Salon yesterday, and recieved the best coloring that I have ever had. I wanted to go super blonde, and Brooke was able to achieve a very light color without the brassiness that I am so used to, and have always had to live with. It looks very natural. I feel hot!!! The atmosphere is adorable...a little bungalow that has been converted to open space. Very homey, and not hustle-bustle or fancy. I just relaxed! I was there for four hours because I have a ton of hair but did not feel for an instant that I was anything but top priority or rushed at any time. Pricing is I am guessing average for this type of place, but what you get is top-notch. If you want a fancy experience, do not go there. If you want to feel welcomed, comfortable, and like you are a part of their little family, I can truly vouch that is a great experience with old-fashioned customer service. They are not turn-and-burn like many salons can be. They also have an in-house aesthetician who does all-natural facials and other services. read more

I recently went to see Brooke at BB Salon on a friend's recommendation (more honestly stated, at her very strong insistence) and I couldn't be more glad that I did. This woman has magic in her fingers! When it comes to hair, I'm not the type of gal who is willing to spend a lot of time perfecting a 'do. I'm more of the wash-and-go type. Unfortunately, my hair has enough curl that oftentimes the wash-and-go method would end up making my head look like a mushroom with a mullet (thanks to the no-so-great layering job at the hands of an inferior stylist). I didn't want a boy cut, but a change was definitely in order. Most stylists visibly cringe when you tell them that you're not going to use product or otherwise fuss with your tresses. Thankfully, Brooke isn't that type of gal. I took in a couple of photos to give her an idea of what I was going for, told her about my curl issues and my lack of willingness to style. With a "we can do that" and a smile, she started chopping. The resulting cut was EXACTLY what I was looking for. After taking off 6", my hair now collarbone length hair air dries to look as though I spent time styling it. No product needed, no fuss. Brooke is absolutely the bee's knees. I have been going to see for Abby at BB Salon since moving to Atlanta a few months ago. She's great! She always listens to what I want & I have short hair, so a precision cut is essential. Even when I go too long between cuts, my hair still retains a good shape/style--a definite sign of an excellent cut. I also have been to see Marisa, the aesthetician at the salon, a few times. She's a pro with waxing & will whip your brows into shape. The products she uses are wonderful--I can't wait to get a facial from her! I'll echo the comments Christina M. made about the salon's atmosphere. Brooke & her crew do not take themselves too seriously & are hilarious. I have been going to see Brooke for probably four years now, ever since her salon was recommended to me by two different people, a college friend and another friend I know through the Junior League. I had been a serial salon hopper, constantly trying to find someone who could handle my hair. It is super curly but I often wear it straight and really need a cut that accommodates all kinds of different styles. My search was over when I found Brooke! She is a really good listener, but also isn't afraid to tell me when she has an idea for something better. Brooke is fun and easy to talk with while I'm getting my cuts--I feel more like it's a social visit whenever I go there, except that I end up with awesome hair. Seriously, I look forward to going there for days before my appointments. Her prices are very reasonable, too. Besides that, she is always willing to donate a service for auction at our Junior League charitable events. I just returned from my first visit to BB Salon, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Mary Ann did a fantastic job coloring and cutting my hair. I'm currently recovering from a traumatic color experience, and she was very patient with my concerns. More importantly, she outlined a plan to get me back to healthy, non-brassy blonde hair. She listens to what her client wants, and knows how to get them there. Fantastic! I'm thrilled with the results: shiny, bright, happy hair. My visit to BB was also made memorable by Marisa, the esthetician, who made my brows look better than ever before with a meticulous wax. She spent a great deal of time figuring out how my brows grow, and assessing how to get them to their best possible shape. She took time to pluck, trim and wax. She managed to keep my extremely sensitive skin calm throughout the almost painless process. Hands-down the best brow wax of my life! The atmosphere at BB is so comfortable, relaxed and friendly.
