LOVE my new beaver musher hat!!!
    Lance C.

Great place, great prices, BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship and extremely friendly, helpful staff!!! I went on an 8 hour round trip quest to visit this shop and it was worth EVERY second of driving!!! This hat is so warm, GORGEOUS and well made that I would've happily paid twice as much as I did!!! Do yourself a favor and make the journey to this hidden little gem in the middle of nowhere, it's WELL worth the trip!!! And the area it's located in is just as beautiful as the furs sold here! THANK YOU to my wonderful girlfriend and all the staff, I'll cherish this hat until the day I die!!!

Sheepskin seat cover Thanks @Wild Things Fur

I visited here a couple of weeks ago on a chilly Sunday afternoon. Wow, was I impressed! They took the time to talk to me about sheepskin seat covers pointing out the best picks of the lot. I didn't intend on buying one for my bike that day, but after putting one on my Harley and sitting on it -- I was totally sold. I didn't have it cut to fit my bike; I like a small portion hanging down the sides of my seat and it protects my inner thighs from engine heat. Friendly service, great selection of all things fur. I love my cover; it has provided heat protection and additional comfort after hours on my bike. Definitely worth the $60.00! I'll be back for a Cossack hat later this season. Definitely will visit again soon.

I'm not sure why they have a "contact us" link on their site. I sent two messages to them asking about their products and never got a reply.

Wow. I was amazed when I walked in the door. This place is HUGE! I soon realized that I had not…read moregiven myself enough time to completely look through everything. It is really that good! I was even a little overwhelmed, which doesn't happen very often with bead stores. They had tons of magazines and books to buy, which I love. They also had back issues of the best beading magazines. Something else I liked was the free project sheets set out around the store. It's a really nice touch. They had loads of seed beads, czech glass, crystals and gemstone strands. I could've spent an hour looking through the pendant beads alone! They also had tons of tools, base metal, silver, and gold (filled?) findings. I also liked that they carried a huge supply of gift boxes to put your bead presents in. I can't think of much that they DIDN'T have! They were also having a great sale on metal charms. They had hundreds to choose from at .50 per piece. They also had another charm area with tons of Tierra Cast charms. They were $1 each or 12/$10. I paid at least $3.50 each for the same beads at the Milwaukee show recently! My only complaint about the store was the gemsone strand prices. They seemed to run about 25% higher than the other stores I've been to. I've heard they have awesome sales though, and I will plan on driving up to Baraboo when I hear about one. I was really bummed when I found out from another customer that I'd missed a big tent sale the weekend before. I wish she hadn't told me that! I hate missing a good sale! In conclusion, I think Turtle Island Beads may be the BEST bead store I've ever been to. I was impressed. I was just there yesterday (Friday) and I would drive back up on Sunday if they weren't closed on Sundays. It's definitely worth the trip! ADDENDUM: Turtle Island Beads has closed. I'm so sad. This place was top-notch. I'm sorry to see them go.

Nate's Leather I would not take another coat back to him…read moreever. I brought Nate an 800$ leather coat that's too small, don't zip up like it should and he ignored my attempts to ask what I do with the coat he did not measure cut it toooo tight and the zipper is stressing eventually will break! The coat was too big on me. He eyeballed the alteration, no accurate measuring. The next day I changed my mind thinking he did not measure the alteration and feared a large would be a size large with a smaller waist line. I called to stop and cancel the alteration early the day after dropping the coat off and he told me he opened the coat , really 1 day ? he opened the coats seams? He told me 2 weeks to finish the alteration. I THINK THAT WAS BS. I have a coat that's took small now and the zipper is not closing the way a coat zipper is supposed to. I'm not finished reviewing a Leather Coat Alteration by Nate's Leather in Streamwood yet. i want ya's to know this business is high quality at the work they do. The problem is Nates a hard headed know it all that does not listen to customers or stand behind his work if your not satisfied. I've been ignored and you guys should know that you better not trust Nate's measuring or his after he finishes customer care. I'm sure he'll ignore this review the same as he ignored my questions I asked about a coat I look at and know I should have trusted myself when he eyeballed the measurements. Thanks, Mule

I had them custom make a jacket, had to pay in advance, $1200.00! I was measured by a woman that…read morespoke only spanish... owner was trying to speak to her in broken spanish... long story short, took literally 6 months, jacket was 2 sizes too big, no refund offered, would only alter the jacket, it is now unwearable. Run from this place. Also ordered a bulletproof vest, very long wait, many excuses, tried to pass off an expired vest to me, ended up with a level 2 instead of the 3 that I ordered...I can't understand how these people are in business! And they allegedly work with Police departments!
