Our family of six had a fun time on our electric bike tour. This was the first time for any of us to try an electric bicycle and our guides were super helpful, patient, friendly and accommodating. As we were the only ones on the tour that day, they adjusted to our every need. For example: *We're running late. No problem! *We're towing a trailer and parking can be a challenge. No problem! We'll hold a spot for you. *We have two late-70's seniors who haven't ridden bicycles in over 20 years. No Problem! We've got an electric tricycle for one and a lighter bike for the other. *We want to get back earlier to make it to our next destination. No problem! We can turn around and return whenever you want. Rented a sleeping bag & bear canister, very last minute. Dalton was able to meet me same-day, on a Saturday, to make a handoff of equipment that I could take backpacking into Redwood Natl Park. Don't let the fact that there are so few reviews deter you. The business was started right before COVID hit in 2020 and they had deal with that. WildTrail Tours is awesome. We made reservations for the mountain biking tour of the Arcata Community forest. My family has mountain bikes but we had only been riding on pretty easy gravel trails in the Bay Area. So this was our first time exploring some single-track. We were given the option of choosing an easier tour and were told what to expect on the mountain biking tour. They did not hesitate to book us first-timers. Katie was our guide and she was super-patient and helpful. My 8 year old son was the youngest they had taken out. The youth bike they had was a little big for him. But Katie took out a saw and cut the seat-post right there on the trailhead to make it fit . Despite cutting herself while doing it, she gave us a great tour and intro to mountain biking. We were probably the slowest group, Katie has taken on the tour but she was very patient and encouraging. My son fell a few times, and once pretty hard to bring out the tears but he hopped back on each time and towards the end was zipping quite-fast behind Katie as we made our way back to the trailhead. He wants to go back a second-time and that is all I wanted out of the experience. read more

I'm fairly advanced MTB and Dalton pointed me in the right direction to find some challenging stuff, but not too dicey or muddy. We spent a weekend in Arcata and knew we wanted to spend time outdoors. We were recommended Wildtrail tours by a local and we were not disappointed. I made a bike rental reservation online two days before the rental date. So far I have been ghosted by this company and have received neither a confirmation nor cancellation. Both their yelp page and website state they are open but apparently this is not true. So far all this company has done is waste my time. My husband and I rented mountain bikes from WildTrail to explore Arcata, the community Redwood park, and the Samoa area on the peninsula. Dalton is courteous, on time and eager to please. We had a wonderful experience renting e-bikes from Wildtrail Tours. The owner, Dalton, met us at the Hammond Trail trailhead in Arcata, and we were off on an adventure riding to Clam Beach and back. We had a child who was 5 feet tall, and Wildtrail Tours had a mini bike available for her to ride that was perfect. The owner was very helpful, explaining the area and offering hiking suggestions along with providing for all of our e- bike needs. My partner and I went out for a bike tour with Dalton today and it was definitely the highlight of our trip.
