They are a smaller outfitter with experienced guides that provide more personal attention. Rafting Helmets are also provided which is something not offered by most of the other companies. Guides were amazing. They were super friendly and very helpful (especially when we fell out of the boat). They were very informative, but they just talked to us like regular people. The experince was incredible as well. The scenery was beautiful, and this was one of the longest white water rafting trips we have been on. It was 2+ hours. It was also a really great deal. You get a wet body suit, a jacket, shoes, vest, and a helment right as you get there and you don't have to pay extra for it. There were a lot of rapids atleast more than 5, but they were a lot of fun and they weren't scary at all. Out of all the rafting trips I have gone, this was by far the best. Definitely reccomend it for a family vacation, or if you want to experince nature. read more

We went rafting in August on the White Salmon River. We had a hard time finding the meeting spot because the address that was emailed to me was incorrect and there were no signs anywhere to lead us there. I ended up calling the number on the email but the person who answered wasn't able to help us either because she couldn't figure out where we were and also because there was no reception in the area. We asked around and finally got there (just in time). The trip doesn't start right on time they make sure everyone gets there and waits for everyone to get dressed and ready. The guides are hilarious and keep us entertained the whole way but for a moderate level river the ride wasn't as "wild" or as fast as we had expected because we have to continuously wait for the other rafters in our group to catch up. The view is absolutely stunning and the length of time was not too long or short (approx. 3.5 hours). We stopped once to practice drill for the waterfall and once to preview the height of it (you are able to decide whether or not you want to be in the raft when going through it after seeing it). All safety procedures were met and the guides were knowledgable and helpful. Photographers hide amongst the trees and take photos during the trip. These photos can be bought individually or altogether at a lower price. I would definately go again and next time I'll book the advanced ride! read more

Three friends and myself were looking for something fun to do near Leavenworth and we stumbled upon river rafting! We were all beginners so we wanted to make sure we chose the right company. We chose to go with Wildwater and it was a great choice! Danny was a great guide! The whole staff was very knowledgable and fun! A WONDERFUL time! We called on a Wednesday looking for a tour for 15 people that Saturday. They were able to get us all set up, no problems. The tour was so fun, Randy and Hayden were fabulous guides, everything was super safe and lots of fun. We had everything from first time rafters to those who had been doing it for a few years. The two day intro to kayaking course was such a great experience, thanks to our guides Scott and Megan. They were true professionals... always keeping safety first while maintaining a fun and light-hearted experience. We had a larger sized group (8 ppl), but they did an excellent job of giving each person sufficient 1-on-1 instruction. We did two different sections on the Wenatchee which were great stretches for beginners -- good mix of slack water for wet-exit and T-rescue practice, but enough whitewater to keep it interesting. Based on the two guides that we had, I would suspect that the business owners do an excellent job of hand picking their guides. Highly recommend! read more

We took the Bald Eagle trip which included a rafting 'drift' down the Skagit River. While the weather didn't cooperate, we had a great time with the Wildwater River Guides group and the trip was very successful. We saw over 30 eagles and our guide was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We recommend them highly and would certainly do additional excursions with them. read more

Wildwater River Guides deserve the highest marks for their business. They guided me on a stand-up-paddleboard (SUP) trip on Icicle Creek in late June 2014. When I made the reservation for this trip, Lance was articulate and helpful over the phone. He followed up with emails full of information about how to get to the put-in, what to bring, and what to expect. He also requested information from me to ensure that they had the right size equipment on hand for me. The company required that I wear a helmet and safety vest, and also provided a wet suit and booties if desired. (The Icicle is very cold, and the wet suit was helpful!) Everything was well organized, well thought out, and well communicated. They made safety a priority. The guide, Jaime, met me at Enchantment Park and drove me to the put-in near the fish hatchery. She gave me equipment, some SUP instruction and a safety briefing, and then we were off! It was my first experience with a paddleboard, and I found it very enjoyable. On bumpy sections of water I knelt on the board; on quieter stretches I stood up. It was easier to stand than I expected. The SUP struck me as being a clumsy watercraft, though, because it has only a tiny fin keel to keep it going in one direction. With every stroke of the paddle, the board wants to twist in the opposite direction. The paddle is one-ended, so it requires constantly shifting the paddle from one side to the other to correct the direction of travel. The curve of the tip of the paddle seemed to make it hard to J-stroke. We traveled a tranquil portion of Icicle Creek and meandered with the creek through beautiful countryside. There were lots of other people on the river: kayakers, rafters, and fishermen. A couple of deer on the river bank watched us go by. There were stretches of water that were calm enough for me to take out a waterproof camera and snap a few shots. Then the guide offered to take one of me, so we scooted our paddleboards together and I handed the camera across to her. So nice of her. We took a break on a gravel bar to chat with Lance and a couple of kayakers whom he was instructing. Lance inquired whether we had seen two other people in yellow kayaks upstream. He was concerned for their safety. They had rented equipment from another company, a company that did not require a guide to go along on the trip. When Lance had encountered the couple, they had both dumped in the water, and needed his help to get going again. We too had seen these people, and had seen what a terrible day they were having. The woman had dumped in the water again and was trying to clamber up a steep muddy, bank. Further down stream, out of sight due to the thick brush on the stream banks, was her husband trying to coral her kayak and figure out what to do. They were total novices and over their heads. There is good reason to go with a company that requires a guide! We put back in the water and continued down stream. Shortly after the confluence with the Wenatchee River, we landed at Enchantment Park on the Waterfront Trail. The adventure was over all too soon. This company, it's guides and its equipemt are top notch. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and most importantly they were great at what they do. We had a group of 12 people, the trip in total from start to end was around 4 hours. You get a good "dry run" prior to hitting the water so you know exactly what you are going to be doing. Our party of 6 just had a blast, riding with Wildwater River Guides down the White Salmon River. Justine was exceedingly helpful getting our trip arranged; Lance was the day's drill master that ensured we all knew the important stuff; Adam was our raft guide that showed us how to navigate the gnarly river. We were in the a.m. slot and followed the river through increasingly challenging rapids, mixed with lush, scenic beauty. The water was snow-melt-cold and woke us up fast! We got to get out and preview Hussum Falls before we took the 10-foot drop ourselves! It was interesting to see the foliage change as we traveled down-river. I read the negative reviews and just cannot understand how anyone could have a negative experience with this company. I went rafting numerous times with this company when it was under previous ownership and loved the company and crews then, so I have to admit, the new ownership and guides had some really high standards to live up to, and today and they definitely​ exceeded them. We had a wonderful guide, Seth, who kept us safe, entertained, and educated throughout our trip. Any and all of the guides we had with us today were all very friendly, very knowledgeable, open to any discussion​s and questions, and ​clearly had our safety as their first priority. We even had a guy that was in a kayak with an umbrella so he could take pictures! These guys certainly go above and beyond and I cannot wait to go again! read more

Mad love these guys! We took a SUPing trip with them 2 years ago that was incredible and decided to look them up again when we were in the area. Justine recommended a Wenatchee river rafting trip for our family of 6. I was hesitant, but she assured me that they have the safest guides in the state and we'd have a fabulous time. She was SO right! Alex was beyond incredible. She was funny, light-hearted, and was an expert. She gave us great instructions and even helped us to surf a wave! We were soaked, but everyone stayed in the boat the entire time. We felt totally safe (they are the only tour group to provide helmets) and super adventurous under Alex's careful watch. My son is in the Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, and we decided to spend a day on the river together before he deploys in the fall. So glad we did. It was the most thrilling yet relaxing day we have ever had. We took our trip August 3rd 2013 and our guide was Lance. Catch 22 with this business. After online booking/paying for a trip, I was contacted by owner Justine who told me the date we want to ride cannot be guaranteed because not enough people had booked. Cool, I understand, but then I was told I would be charged a $20 credit card fee to cancel. I need to know that I will have a river trip and what day it will be - that's the highlight of our family vacation to Portland. In retrospect, the internet is not the best way to book with this company. They will take your money before they know they can fulfill the service. Bummer. read more

many years ago ... ok, many decades ago ... a group of friends frequented the tieton on multiple, often extended, visits every summer. we were inner-tubers and spent the days sitting in truck tubes floating through the best parts of the river, sometimes for miles. the nights were spent partying, of course. there were 3 of us who were the instigators--one or more of us, usually all 3, were invariably there, and we'd drag along anyone else we could find. 40 years later, we are in our mid to late 60s, and less adventuresome--me in particular, since i am somewhat disabled by a very bad knee that seriously impedes my mobility. so this last summer we decided to leave the driving, so to speak, with someone else. i was somewhat worried by my disability but these folks dealt with the situation with amazing aplomb and zero hesitation, even going so far as to reconfigure the raft to accommodate me. i am grateful to them almost beyond my ability to express myself. they are highly trained, knowledgeable, kindly, and patient. and most highly recommended. read more

Went down the Skykomish River on June 7th with 5 friends and it was a phenomenal experience! Prior to our trip booking was easy and the customer service from Justine was great! She assisted my planning to the T. Super friendly and made you feel welcomed. We chose to arrive early to make sure we had everything ready so that the staff wasn't waiting on us and to my surprise they were there early too and ready to roll! From introductions to transport to the river instructions to practice to the actual trip at no time did we question the staff and their abilities. As the trip moved along the staff was great on giving instruction and looking out for our safety (most importantly) and also brought a lot of wit and humor to the ride which added to the fun. Our guide Danny was great! Did an outstanding job getting a bunch of us novices in sync and responding on command and making us move as a solid team. Like he said, he was the steering wheel and we were the motor. He made us into one awesome motor. He was great on bringing safety, wit/humor/ knowledge/and fun to the table in one awesome adventure that I will forever share with my friends. I'm already looking into more trips since now I'm hooked! I have no need to look at other guide services, Wildwater River Guides has surpassed my expectations for the trip. I had a wonderful experience with Wildwater! The guides had us laughing the whole time on the wenatchee river!! The whitewater was exhilerating and the boat captains made us feel safe the whole time, they have many guides that have been running these rivers for over 10 years! The wetsuits and booties smelled clean and were dry haha, and for someone that loves to go rafting in washington, that makes a big difference! All of their boats and equipment are in excellent condition and i really got the impression that they were out there with only our safety and enjoyment in mind. Ive been with other companies in the past that have terrible customer service and made us feel like we were just another number. Not the case with wildwater, they put a unique personal touch on the trip that makes it feel like a one of a kind experience! if you are thinking about going rafting this summer, I would reccomend these guys to anyone!!!! read more
