The attention to detail and timeliness for completion was terrible. They did not complete the work outlined in our agreement and they completely wreck my driveway and my yard in several places and then would not fix or repair the damage they did while resurfacing my patios. Initial hardscape design and installation about 5 years ago = 5 stars. Last two years = 1 star. Paver repair took 2 years to complete. Received 3 site visits from Jonathan over the final year. The estimate for repair work was vague and required me hammering out a scope of work for the quoted fixed cost. Received the final site visit one day before the repair work, which was then completed nicely. Days later, received an invoice for 150% of the quote with no explanation. When I balked, Jonathan said that it was not a fixed-cost event (it was), further degradation may have occurred since the site was last visited (24 hours earlier) and he did not know how long the work would take until it was completed (after 3 site visits). After a well documented summary accounting of phone conversations, e-mails and site visits submitted to the company owner, the original quote was honored. Yet the owner never replied to or attempted to contact me regarding the negative experience. Again, years ago, great experience. More recently, very shifty. Be prepared to document everything and advocate for yourself. But that battle is "Time & Material" on your part... read more

We met with Jason to do a landscape and hardscaping master plan design for our new home in Hamilton. Jason met with us several times to gather information and to discuss his ideas on what would work with our architecture while keeping our wants/needs in mind. The design was beautiful and Jason priced out different phases for us so that we could asses where we would like to start. Phase 1 started with a stone patio with steps, a drainage system to resolve a septic drainage issue in our yard, and to plant 18 screening trees. Wildwood was very responsive and professional throughout the entire process. Jonathan, our Wildwood site manager, provided updates on when the crew would arrive, any changes to plans due to weather, and to answer all of our concerns or questions along the way. Two of the trees we noticed started to brown several weeks after planting. We contacted Jonathan and within a few days he came out to asses and treat them. We very much appreciate the care and follow up even after the work was complete. Jason has a talent and a vision and truly cares about the quality of his work - he asked us several times how we felt about the process and if there is anything he could do to improve moving forward. I am surprised at the other comments, we have enjoyed working with Jason and his staff and will continue to refer him to our friends and neighbors. read more

I concur 100% with Ashley's comments; exactly the same thing happened and is happening to me. I have been waiting almost TWO years for them to come out and replace two bushes that I called to their attention 5 months after they were clearly dead. Each time I call, they have a different excuse with Jason even going as far as to blame ME one time! All this and I am less than a mile from their shop. We recently moved into a newly constructed house in a lovely area with a difficult approach to the house. Jason Dengler worked closely with us to create a terrific plan for the driveway approach, patios, stepping stone walkways, retaining wall, and plantings. Jon Fickling and RJ Dingle implemented the plan and coordinated three teams to handle each area of the project. Throughout, all three individuals were communicative, attentive to the process, extremely knowledgeable, and offered ways in which they could enhance the project within the existing budget. The workers were very skilled, tireless, always went above and beyond, and worked with care and interest in the final product. We had an excellent experience using Wildwood, they are the ideal contractor. We hired Wildwood to design a swimming pool around a challenging yard with a large retaining wall and steep slope. They built our dream space and incorporated visions we would never have thought of. The level of customer service they have shown us went above and beyond what would ever be expected. Where do I even start..? Experience started out great. Jason really cares about drafting up a good plan and took a lot of time to discuss which plants we wanted, etc. After that the experience went noticeably downhill. Our story, in a nutshell; (1) Their Account Manager was nice at first, but as Spring drew closer there were a few episodes where he got really short with me. For us, this was a large amount of money to spend (several thousand dollars), and I don't appreciate being treated like I'm wasting your time with questions. He was rude to the folks at our local nursery when he (begrudgingly) agreed to pick up a tree for me on their way to do our job. I actually got a talking-to by the owner of the nursery when I called on a separate issue, and I had to APOLOGIZE to the nursery on Wildwood's behalf due to this person's conduct. I was brushed off when I told management about it. Ok - seriously? So do something about it. Unbelievable - you've just been told you have a rogue employee who doesn't treat customers well and you kind of just decided to look the other way. (2) Their team DID do a great job digging out the beds for us, composting and shaping the gently-sloping curves of Jason's original plan. I am happy with that part, no complaints there. I'm sure this is an issue with lots of landscaping companies as they have to pay their employees somehow - but I was a bit (ok a lot) disappointed with the size of the plants we got for the price. Example; we put in 10 Blue Princess hollies at $40 a pop - they were ~ 1.5 feet tall, so relatively tiny. When I recently stopped at our local nursery in Lincoln, the same $40 hollies were nearly 5 FEET tall. I was shocked and horrified and have thusly learned my lesson. Next time we will buy all our own plants and have the nursery put them in, omg. (3) Per Jason's plan, we had plants put in to areas that, according to two other landscapers and the manager at our local nursery, should not have been put in that area - either due to receiving too much sun or wind, etc. So we've had some plants not do well because of this. Just something to keep in mind that you may want to do your own research after you see their plan just to ensure a plant will survive in the area they suggest. (4) The final straw, honestly, was our treatment after everything was done. We paid for several hydrangeas, all of which are dead. It took me a month to get in touch with them regarding a replacement, and was told it shouldn't be done until the Fall. Awesome, I love paying $20 a piece for tiny dead stumps. If my call had been returned a month earlier, they could've been replaced without an issue. We thought about it and decided on different plants, but honestly we wanted them replaced now (this was June). We were told by others that things planted in June would be fine with regular watering. Wildwood's reply; "well, you'd better choose wisely, as you only get one replacement." Really? You have a 1 year warranty - I've called 2 other landscapers in the area, both said a warranty should include as many replacements as it takes. So, fantastic. We're getting screwed again there - that may be on us if it was in their fine print, but I didn't realize the great warranty they touted (which is why I thought we were paying so much markup on the plant prices) included only 1 replacement. I was also asked to 'try to keep the hydrangeas alive' so they could take them back in the Fall. UMMM, nope. Plants are already dead. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. They've since GHOSTED on us and stopped responding to our calls and texts so we told them to forget about it and we will replace the plants ourselves. There goes $100 down the toilet. To exacerbate the matter, my co-worker (who lives in the neighborhood behind their location), had work done by them and said literally the same thing happened to them w/ ghosting on plant replacements. They also didn't compost the beds as was in their contract and she had to call them out on it. Real nice guys - way to run your business. I know you're busy (as you've insisted on mentioning incessantly), but at this point it just seems like you're more interested in taking people's money for a one-time job than building a long-term relationship with a customer. It's a damn shame because they're a local business and I want nothing more than to support local businesses, but we put a LOT of money into this project to be treated the way we have been. Fool us once, shame on us. Lesson learned. If you decide to use Wildwood, I'd say proceed at your own risk. You may be better off shopping local nurseries and asking if they have hourly laborers that can do the planting if you have a lot you need done (most offer this apparently). I should write a book called "the wool hath been pulled over mine eyes for the last time - lessons learned from our first foray into being homeowners"). read more

Wildwood just completed a job redesigning our front entryway. Love the results! I've used Wildwood several times throughout the years and have never had a bad experience. Jason's designs are incredible and I've always found him easy to work with. I've always been very impressed by how his crews clean up after each days' work, making sure that your yard looks as neat as possible during the project. I would certainly recommend them. read more

We had them do a commercial landscaping job in Township of Langley two years ago. They did an OK job, however during the first two summers, we found there was excessive weeds all over our property which required thousands of dollars in maintenance over the last two years. Then we discovered that they did not put down landscape fabric! When I phoned him about that deficiency, they said it is "not standard" and it was "not in the drawings", but every landscaper I spoke with thereafter said it was very standard to put down landscape fabric in every project. We've hired many landscaping companies over the past 11 years, both large and small. We hired Wildwood last year when our current landscaping company went out of business. Wildwood handles the summer moving, fall/spring clean up, lawn treatments, trimming, pruning and special projects. If I happen to see something that requires attention, I send an email or text to Jason (owner) and he responds quickly. Special projects, such as planting a large tree or several plants, he provides a written estimate so I know the cost up front. Jason does his best to work within my budget. Unlike the other reviews, we've had a positive experience with Wildwood. read more
