I ordered flowers through teleflora for my mom on Mom's day. Thankfully I showed up at her place and was able to bring up the flowers or I would have never known. On the tag was countryside florist and my heart sunk. Rather than the lovely bouquet of deep red tulips I paid for--my mom received a pathetic bunch of dinky pink tulips that look like the supermarket rejected them. Adding insult to injury, I paid for 20 large tulips, I got 15 tiny ones. I agreed to substitution--I did not agree to bait and switch. I'm raising a stink with teleflora--but buyer beware. After reading the other reviews, it makes sense. This place is famous for bait & switch. What makes matters worse is their customer service, especially when it comes from the owner. We all have a mother and want everyone to respect them, well the case here is the owner, after sending my mother the wrong arrangement of flowers expected for no one to complain about it and this wasn't the case because my mother drove there and explained to the lady she got the wrong flowers and would like for her to make things right and give her what her husband had paid. At this moment, the OWNER decided to verbally abuse my mother by telling her, "she's an IDIOT, and WOMEN like her doesn't deserve flowers," just because my mother wanted to get what her husband had sent her. read more

I use 1800 Flowers exclusively, after some issues with other web services. I have never been disappointed in the shops chosen. My experience continues with Countryside. I live in Maryland, my Lady lives in Virginia. I chose the option of having the arrangement designed by the shop. I have never seen that option before. It was a great choice. My Lady cannot stop telling me how beautiful the arrangement is and sent me several photos. I now have a "local" florist I can rely on for beautiful flowers. read more

Bit of an overdue review but I would first like to start by saying how much I appreciate this shop. I'm so glad that I found this place. I ordered a floral arrangement that is quite sizeable in celebration of a graduation in the family. I did not have much expectation because floral arrangements tend to fall short to photos but I was absolutely blown away. I have never thought the flowers can look better in person! The service was great and fast, and I could tell that it was created with so much love. My niece was so happy with it! As a longtime customer of countryside florist I am disappointed with the service of the new owners. First, when I ordered flowers to be sent to on of friends who was sick I never got confirmation that they were sent. It appears these owners have no follow up. Most recent I asked for a little Boutonniere to put in my hair. They charged $29. In March, I requested a Boutonniere and two corsage, then I paid less than $10 for the Boutonniere. The service went severely down hill! I am a advocate of supporting local businesses, but I can no longer support them. How sad! read more

I fully understand the small print that claims the florist "may substitute" flowers at their discretion, so arrangements may not look exactly like the picture.....but to substitute carnations for roses and other higher cost flowers at their discretion and to create a budget bouquet while still charging the same price seems like a shady business practice. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I was so disappointed by Countryside Florist this week when I ordered a plant for a celebration of life for a friend that I felt I owed it to others to leave an account of my experience. I went to the florist's webpage, selected the plant I wanted and paid for it in full. There was nothing to indicate my order wouldn't or couldn't be fulfilled. The following day, I received a phone call from the florist saying that the plant would cost me additional money because the total of my order only came to $47 & some change and it had to be at least $60. Why on earth was it listed at one price on the webpage, only to later be told that, in actuality, it would cost more? It's always been important to me to support local, small businesses in my community where I've lived for 30+ years. Would give ZERO if possible. We received a bouquet from Countryside Florist and the flowers were extremely poor quality, they started to wilt within 2 days and the bouquet ordered was not what we received, it included the wrong flowers and colors. She supplemented sunflowers with carnations and lilies, she shortchanged the roses and used deep red instead of the hot pink which was specifically requested. If you cannot fill the correct order DO NOT take the order. What we paid was NOT what we received (poor quality flowers and cheap looking arrangements). We called and spoke with the owner who was hostile and not helpful, she would not make right and was not willing to replace the bouquet. Will NOT order from Country Side Florist again. Its too bad that we are required to rate at least one star because this company deserves MINUS 5 at BEST Don't do it!! Dont use these people. We ordered flowers on Friday 11/13/20 to be delivered Monday, 11/16/20 through 1800flowers. The flowers were NOT delivered on Monday as ordered. We called 1800flowers and they advised that Countryside had advised them that the flowers were delivered and signed for....not sure WHO signed for them. There are no neighbors around the house and those of us there did not accept any flowers....maybe the deer or groundhogs? 1800flowers guaranteed that the flowers would be REDELIVERED on Tuesday 11/17/20. Along came evening on Tuesday, still NO flowers delivery. Again, 1800flowers was called. They said their records clearly indicated that the florist delivered the flowers. Someone is NOT BEING HONEST. As of Wednesday 1118/20@9am...NO FLOWERS have been delivered, we have been given dishonest information and a complete lack of accountability, leadership and service. I can't, in good faith, recommend either 1800flowers or Countryside Florist to ANYONE. The lack of honesty is a dealbreaker. Given that the OWNER of Countryside lied directly to me, no wonder the employees find it acceptable to say a delivery was made when clearly it wasn't. (I recorded ALL call between myself and Countryside and myself and 1800flowers ...Virginia is a one party consent state). What a debacle. I will never give either of these companies my money. There are too many HONEST, small businesses in the area that actually CARE about their customers and treat them with respect and decency. Please read the current reviews since almost all of the negative ones are from 2015-2017 (and for some reason are at the top?). My husband has bought me flowers at this florist many times and they are always lovely and very fresh, but I do not use them very often since if I order flowers it is usually for someone out of town. Yesterday I needed a special arrangement quickly (within a few hours) for my Mom who is also somewhat of a "flower snob." Not only did they do an arrangement quickly but it was absolutely gorgeous. Strange.... My wife and I walk our dog around the Countryside shopping center almost every morning. Something very strange happened yesterday morning while passing this store on our walk. Suddenly an employee came outside with clippers and marched right up to the landscaping by the road. She clipped a bunch of wild grass ("Pampa" grass) and carefully took it back inside the store. I'm still wondering what on earth she was planning to do with the wild grass. We certainly hope she didn't plan on charging someone $$$ money $$$ for public grass? Wow!!!! read more

Incredibly disappointed in an arrangement from Countryside Florist. The arrangement was a gift from my sister, was to be delivered on 12/22. Never arrived. On 12/23 my sister contacted Teleflora to inquire about the delivery. Eventually an arrangement was delivered, after 8 pm. The arrangement was not what she ordered, the outside of the vase was sticky. Next morning the petals on the roses were falling off. Teleflora was less than responsive but ultimately credited 50% back to my sister. This is the second arrangement that has been substandard from this florist. Go to Wegmans and buy a bouquet, much nicer than anything from this place. read more

Please do not order flowers from Countryside Florist,114 Edds Lane, Sterling, VA 20165. This florist is Not reputable. We ordered a "Peaceful White Lilies" arrangement for our close friend's funeral. It was not even remotely similar to the Teleflora arrangement described, plus much smaller, but more importantly, most of the flowers were wilted (obviously not fresh). It was a disheartening display to say the least. We were not able to attend the funeral in person but we did livestream the service and viewed everything. It is difficult to put into words our feelings when we first saw this pitiful MISREPRESENTATION of the "Peaceful White Lilies basket". We do wonder if Countryside Florist would have sent such a poor arrangement if they knew we were attending in person. If I could write a -1 star I would. Ordered flowers through 1800 Flowers that came to Countryside Florist for fulfillment. They said they fulfilled delivery on Friday (they didnt) they then tried to deliver on Tuesday to my wife (now 4 days late) and as they had difficulty... the delivery driver curses out my wife (the recipient of the gift) because they "had to wait 15 F@$king mins on the phone..." As a small business owner this accountability and service disgusts me. What kind of human cusses a recipient (not even the sender) of flowers that simply say "I love you mas". A friend sent us a plant when our father passed away. The beautiful plant was infested with ants. We were excited to get a plant, but now it is sitting outside to die. Since our friend sent the plant through a service, she would have to call to get a refund on the plant and we don't want to tell her about the issue with the plant. I ordered online for a Friday delivery of Get Well flowers and a balloon for my mother. I got a delivery confirmation from the company, but my mother did not receive the flowers. I tried calling the store, but no one would answer and there was no voice mail set up. I sent two emails and never heard back. My mother called and was told the flowers were delivered--to which she told them they weren't. After claiming someone else in the household could have accepted them (it's just my mom and dad living there--and no flowers were delivered), the florist said she would talk to the driver to see where they were delivered. Finally, a new arrangement of flowers will be delivered to my mother tomorrow--that's Tuesday when they should have been delivered on Friday. Flashback to last December when my father sent flowers to the house for Christmas. When no one was home, the driver delivered the flowers to the SIDE entrance to the garage and left them there. There is a huge porch on the house and a garage door--the two entrances anyone would use--but the delivery person put them on the side of the house (and not visible from the street). Until my father called to ask about the flowers, my mother had no idea any were delivered. Upon checking all around the outside of the house, we finally found the flowers. And since it was December, and they had been outside for a few days, they were frozen and dead. The florist did deliver a second arrangement. I found that this is a good option of florists if you want cheap prices on flowers and you know what you want. They don't have a lot on display or anything like that, but just walk in and ask for the amount of whatever you want and they are pretty quick. More bang for your buck then proflowers. The store isn't anything great in and of itself, but for just a florist to pick up some flowers it's a good option. read more

I read the reviews here today and I was ready to come on here and write a review to defend this florist. I had previously ordered flowers from this company and was very happy with them. But today, they have earned zero stars if I could give it! In all fairness, I was somewhat at fault (wrong address), I tried to talk to Julie or Julia, but everytime I would open my mouth she would cut me off. She was very unreasonable! After a unsuccessful conversation (which she yelled at me) I asked to have the order canceled and which she responded with I was to pay a delivery fee, the product was never delievered and she refused to deliver them unless I paid another delivery fee on top of the delivery fee I already paid. I will never order from this place again! Every bad review they have received, they have deserved it! read more

Located in my neighborhood, I patronized Countryside Florist for the first time to have a floral arrangement prepared for a friend celebrating his 84th birthday. The polite and helpful staff there showed me quite an impressive array of appealing choices and whipped it together on the spot as I waited no more than 20 minutes. With a dazzling, redolent birthday arrangement with vase, a mylar balloon, a few extra food items to sweeten the offering, and tax, the price seemed more than fair to me. You have one job to do, deliver flowers and make someone feel super special. Especially on Valentines Day. I called, Valentines day evening, they said they would call back, they didn't. Called again today (day after Valentines) - they were very impolite. Basically laughed, and said would you like us to deliver today? I replied No, it's no longer Valentines Day and it's not needed. Picked up a fruit basket arrangement on Mar 21. It was lovely and much nicer than I expected. In addition, the two women who were in were so nice and helpful. Although I think the person who did my arrangement may have confused me for someone else but she was lovely just the same. I recently ordered a Valentine's Day arrangement from Countryside Florist (Sterling, VA), and was extremely disappointed with the results. Not only did the arrangement get there a day late (because, according to their staff member "they were really busy"), but they also delivered 11 roses instead of 12. The driver was very uncourteous and unprofessional when the delivery was finally made at noon the next day. I attempted to call the florist 50+ times the day of the scheduled delivery, yet no one answered the phone. Finally, when I raised the concern with the shop owner (Julie), she became irritated that I had concerns about the delivery, raised her voice in response, and said that I should be thanking her for the help that she provided.
