When in MI, you must try a Pasty, they say. It's pronounced Past Tee, not Paste Tee, they say. But where do you go to try one? There were a lot of places advertising pasties, but I picked this one since it had almost 5 stars and it was right off the highway. I have nothing to compare it to, but my taste buds approved. The giant of a man working here was nice and informative. This was a cute little restaurant/gift shop. Breakfast Pasty $5.75 Slice of cheery pie $4.25 The food was pretty good. Pasties, I found, were like homemade hot pockets. They had traditional (ground beef + potatoes + carrots + onions + rutabaga), breakfast, veggies, and spicy hot Italian pasties. You can also add gravy for $0.50. They also offered several different kinds of pies - cheery berry, peach blackberry, strawberry rhubarb, apple, oatmeal, and blueberry. The restaurant has about 4 tables inside. There's the cleanest porter potty as the bathroom outside. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . This is a pasty only review. I've had Wildwood a couple times in my life and I'm not sure it'll be worth another visit in the near future. My most recent experience was disappointing. The crust was flimsy and didn't taste like much, while the insides were the same in the taste department. I'm also not sure these pasties pass the ratio test as mine (and others in my group) was overloaded with potatoes. I had multiple bites that didn't include any meat, which is no good. Their pies may be good. They may have a venison option in the fall. They may have a bigger side store than most other pasty shops. But for the pasty, I'm not sure how others gave it a full five stars.

Best pasties in all of Michigan! Don't expect a ton of frills... or quite honestly super friendly service. Where this may lack...the pasties & pies make up for it in quality and flavor.

"Wildwood Pasties" was a random stop along the road for me. I wanted to experience a Pastie (i pronounced "Paste-t") but Mark (the owner) was quick to correct me ... "Past-t" Mark was kind enough to share the history of the Pastie with me ... from English ship crew food to miners food (if I remember correctly?), to U.P. Michigan local's pride! Miners kept the Pastie under their miner's hat while they worked in the mine & used the flame light on their helmet to keep the Pastie warm for meal time. I was learning while I was enjoying my 1st Pastie ... crispy, tasty, & the brown gravy was an added taste bonus!! The "Wildwood Pastie" atmosphere, Mark's personal history lessons (& super personality) and the warm tasty homemade Pastie (of course) sums up to a "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite! So gross, soggy, nasty, horrible tasting, microwaved slop!

Love Wildwood Pasties. My favorite pasties in the UP. We always stop and stock our freezer on our way by.

Do not order from their website they take your money and don't deliver the Pasties you order. It is a scam and their phone is disconnected.

Under new ownership. Only open until 5pm. Still the best pasties and pie...a must when we travel to the UP.

This place is legit UP. Tradition beef all the way. Although they did have very good breakfast pasties with eggs in it.

First off, this name was associated, but it was also called 'Smash Sandwiches'. If you search it on…read moreGoogle Maps, that's what comes up. I visited on a Friday, so it was a bit busy. There was a wait and the food took a bit too, but it was still doable. I loved all the options and the sandwiches are a good size! They come with a bag of chips, but you can upgrade to get a drink and additional side (I picked the coleslaw). I think I would have just been fine with the chips, honestly. The coleslaw was good, but not anything amazing. I thought my sandwich was pretty good, and I appreciate the dips and sauces they serve with it. The chicken on my sandwich was a bit dry, but the sauce helped a lot. I got to try a different sandwich from my friend and it was good too, but also a bit dry (oddly!). I'd definitely come back here again and I think this spot is a great option. The area is so congested, expensive, and busy, so I appreciated that this was different!

I was very surprised at how empty this place was because the food was so good!! You get a large portion for 15-18$ and it comes with choice of chips. I love the creative combination of flavors, works so well!! After eating American food all weekend, I was looking for something that stood out and Zachariahs was just what I was looking for! Had a hard time deciding between the Mighty Mac and Pistachio Press. Went with the Mighty Mac & it didn't disappoint. High protein and the Greek yogurt ranch was phenomenal. I should have gotten both to be honest because I can't stop thinking of the pistachio press. Lol

I was afraid the pancakes and french toast would be super sweet, but they weren't. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. The toppings were well incorporated and not over powering. The French toast was perfectly cooked and not too big. The whipped cream was delicious and not overly sweet. I was afraid the coffee would be mediocre, but it was perfect. I wish I lived here so I could try more of the menu! Our server, Audley, was polite, understood the menu, and timely. It was the best breakfast I have ever had, so I wanted to make sure the staff knew what a great time I had. I asked to speak to the manager. Yelp is fine, but I strongly believe in paying compliments directly to those in charge. The manager could not have been less interested in talking to me. A middle aged, medium height, average sized, medium blonde haired woman with large earrings, anxious eyes, and a false smile... she was quick to come over and quick to ignore me. She made minimal eye contact, turned her body away from me, and proceeded to pick up plates before I had finished my sentence. She turned her body away before I was done speaking. As soon as she felt I had spoken long enough, she left. It was a strange experience for an otherwise pleasant meal. If I lived closer, I'd likely choose somewhere else for future breakfasts. When management isn't interested in doing their job, service tends to follow. It's too bad. If only she had managed to stand still, face me, and listen... I might have given this a five star review.
