I would've given this place five stars, but then I spoke to the manager. This is the best breakfast I have ever had. I was afraid the pancakes and french toast would be super sweet, but they weren't. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. The toppings were well incorporated and not over powering. The French toast was perfectly cooked and not too big. The whipped cream was delicious and not overly sweet. I was afraid the coffee would be mediocre, but it was perfect. I wish I lived here so I could try more of the menu! Our server, Audley, was polite, understood the menu, and timely. It was the best breakfast I have ever had, so I wanted to make sure the staff knew what a great time I had. I asked to speak to the manager. Yelp is fine, but I strongly believe in paying compliments directly to those in charge. The manager could not have been less interested in talking to me. A middle aged, medium height, average sized, medium blonde haired woman with large earrings, anxious eyes, and a false smile... she was quick to come over and quick to ignore me. She made minimal eye contact, turned her body away from me, and proceeded to pick up plates before I had finished my sentence. She turned her body away before I was done speaking. As soon as she felt I had spoken long enough, she left. It was a strange experience for an otherwise pleasant meal. If I lived closer, I'd likely choose somewhere else for future breakfasts. When management isn't interested in doing their job, service tends to follow. It's too bad. If only she had managed to stand still, face me, and listen... Our service was good and over all the food was alright, didn't blow me out of the water. I ordered the omelette with their famous cheesy hashbrowns which I didn't get, I was given the American potatoes which was fine with me after the fact because the cheese on my omelette was definitely fake kraft singles - not a fan and had that been in my hash brown I would've been sad. The beef patties and gravy were lacking flavor in my opinion and seemed as though it was just zapped in the microwave. My main reason for the three stars was the cleanliness of this restaurant. Very fast service with no wait on a Thursday morning. When I tried to eat there on my way home (the next Monday 10 am) the place was so busy I gave up. Food was amazing, and choice of special coffees. Only one choice of pastie (beef). I got a MINIrhubarb pie to go that was completely exceptionally yummy. The rhubarb was more finally chopped than I was used to, which made it fabulous. Good luck parking: the nearby motels don't seem to mind. read more

I came here hoping the breakfast would be great. The food was ok and about the same as most places. We had pancakes and bacon and eggs. I also had some soup which tasted like a packaged soup and not home made. The service and ambiance was nice. Its fine if you just want something to eat. We went for breakfast, they offer so many great options. Waitstaff were all very attentive except for ours. After 10 minutes of waiting and watching other waitstaff go all around us, we had to ask to be waited on. Then it took another 5 minutes to get coffee and water. Our food was fantastic, although the cheesy hash browns weren't as great as I'd hoped. But then we waited 10 minutes for the bill to come, which it never did. We had to go ask for our bill. We won't go back simply because of our terrible waiter, he was so bad. read more

Plain Bagel + Cream Cheese = 6/10. It wasn't anything to write home about but was good. Reese's Brownie: 7/10 Huge and crumbly! Blueberry Donuts: 8/0 Apple Fritter: 9/10 Chocolate Croissant: 10/10, there was ample chocolate. It was buttery, flakes, and delicious. Overall it was a good experience even though we didn't dine in. This place was odd. Seemingly cute and very busy; expect a wait as it's one of the only places in town for breakfast. We came on a Thursday and it was still packed. The service was fairly poor, and it seemed like they needed more training. Our server rarely came to the table and couldn't answer our questions about the food and coffee, just stating, "Go over there if you wanna look". My friend got some coffee eventually by leaving our table to order elsewhere, and it wasn't the best, but not the worst. The food eventually came out, and it looked pretty good! Prices were fair for the serving size. I will say that most of it looked better than it tasted. I don't know if this is a common thing in the area, but there was no seasoning. The pancakes, though, seem to be where they really shine and do well! Definitely get some of those! I'd come back to try more on their menu, but I'd be a bit nervous. Been looking forward to The Wild Blueberry after several trips to St. Ignace. The server was friendly but service was slow enough I considered a ferry ride over to Mackinac Island... I ordered the chicken and waffles and asked for wild blueberries on the side. The waffle itself was a fine-tuned Belgian, but the "chicken" was a couple of the same frozen strips they serve for lunch. They were crispy and fresh, but it was just a strange mismatch. The wild blueberries, were plenty; I considered sharing with a bear I befriended. My daughter's lemon blueberry pancakes were loaded with berries but had zero lemon flavor. Add some lemon zest or throw in some candied lemon peel...I mean you're a bakery...right? My son loved his cinnamon roll pancakes, and grumbled satisfyingly he was full. My wife ordered the same thing I did sans the blueberries and didn't have much to say other than the texture of the waffle was good. Overall, it's a place with potential, and if you order something with blueberries they fulfill their namesake. However, the execution and 3 of the 4 meals fell flat. I was next door at the Aurora Borealis Hotel trying to change a reservation with no luck so I stopped by The Wild Blueberry to get a donut to make me feel better. A blueberry donut, 3" in diameter, cost $1.50. It was delicious, but way overpriced for the size. It took about 10 minutes to be served and concluded the transaction even though there were two staff standing around. Service was not very friendly. Wow!! What a hidden gem. A small restaurant that offers some of the best breakfast items I've ever eaten, hands down. We ordered the Whitefish Eggs Benedict and the Wild Blueberry Pancakes. Both were unbelievably delicious. The locals know how good this place is, so get there early and expect a wait during peak season. We waited for about 30-40 minutes, but it was well worth it! Our party of 4 was sat not too long after putting our name on a list, and we were promptly sat ready to place our order. There were so many things we wanted to try! In the end, their hash brown casserole, blueberry stuffed French toast, Mac something breakfast, and U.P. breakfast was ordered. Oh, and we had to spring for a short stack of blueberry pancakes... it was one of their signature items. First, let me say the U.P. breakfast was off the charts good. Sourdough toast may not be listed on the menu, but I asked anyway and was delighted to hear that they had it . For under $12, I got 3 eggs, 2 slices of crispy bacon, 2 sausage links, and 2 pieces of buttered toast along with the tastiest country potatoes. I was in hog heaven. I don't believe much was left on our plates once all was said and done, and the gals who walked around ensuring your coffee was topped off were downright delightful. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and added two over easy eggs on top. Flavorful and a big portion; I probably won't even need to eat lunch. The inside is decorated cute and it's clean inside.
