Avocado Toast and Banana Bread Latte

My friends and I went and got coffee and food, it was incredible. The staff was also incredibly friendly:) I got the special banana bread latte and avocado toast, genuinely the best avocado toast i've ever had!!!! 10/10 recommend if you're visiting the island!

Not a lot of inside or patio seating. It's packed. 8 tables inside. 9-10 tables out on the patio. You order and then sit down. Ordered a chipotle turkey, bacon on the side, Michelangelo, snickerdoodle latte with oat milk latte, water bottle and a berry infused lemonade. The berry infused lemonade has some fake sugar in it, real sugar would make it better. The blueberries are still frozen, not fresh. Bummer. The snickerdoodle latte with oat milk was good. Flavorful. The chipotle chicken was tasty. The bread was nicely toasted. The Michelangelo was decent until my husband tried to bite into a piece of bone in the chicken. Not cool! Good thing he didn't break a tooth biting into it harder or swallow it whole in the middle of big bite. I did let the staff know about the bone in the chicken. I watched them all examine the bone in the back kitchen. The front desk woman offered to give a refund. I told her it's more important that she was made aware that it occurred than the refund. There are quite a few bees inside the patio. My husband got bitten on the back of his neck while eating lunch. Not a great lunch experience so far. Our Watercolor Cafe. 3 aggressive bees, one bee sting on the neck, bone chicken in the Michelangelo sandwich, frozen blueberries in the berry infused lemonade.

Recommended by many on the island. This gem was hidden past the fort & ships along the water. The menu looks delicious, but the line here was intimidating. It wrapped outside around the corner. It was the eclectic outdoor dining and a few small tables inside right on the waterfront, unfortunately there would be outside so we sat indoors. The chocolate fudge mocha caramel toffee nut cappuccino was amazing actually everything was. We shared a Michelangelo for brunch which was goey & delicious. The Watercolor Cafe is open from 8:00 until 3:00. After hours, they have our classes and then the art studio next-door with all of their paintings on display.

Breakfast sandwich. Loved the chipotle aioli! Added a great spice to such a simple sandwich! Want to get this again!!

Loved the atmosphere at this location, able to sit outside listening to the water and music being played. Loved our sandwiches and coffee! Will be back again! They were just getting busy for the morning and had quick service with our drinks and food.

I visited Watercolor Cafe with my mom and sister and I'm so glad we did! The cafe was bustling, but still cozy. We thankfully got a table and sat with a great view of the water.my sister enjoyed her breakfast sandwich but my breakfast burrito stole the show. Simple and delicious. The coffee was good and the ube latte was stellar. Would 100% come back next time we visit the island and sit at their cute outdoor patio.

9/25/2025 we spent the day at Mackinac Island, MI. A great little get away with plenty of Hotels, Inns and other places to stay on the island as well as quaint little shops, resultants, bars and entertainment. We took the boat from Mackinaw City which was about a 20 minute ride. There is $15.00 daily parking in Mack City with shuttle service to the boarding area. Be careful to avoid the $75.00 daily parking lot. We arrived at the island with oodles of people, horse drawn buggies & wagons, bicycles and lots of dog walkers. NO vehicles on the island so wear comfy shoes. We decided on Watercolor Cafe for lunch and it was really good. It's water side with indoor and outdoor seating AND PET FRIENDLY! Our lunch was amazing, the staff very friendly and the place really clean and welcoming. Enjoy your visit to the island! Oh yea, the private residences are AMAZING as is the downtown.

Cool little place for lunch. 40% cheaper than the places in town. Worth the pleasant walk. Very retro with lots of healthy food options.Nonproblem coming back here. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.

Make sure to come early to avoid long lines. Plenty of small tables both inside and outside but I suggest sitting indoors to enjoy the water views! I really enjoyed the strawberry latte and my husband and I split the avocado and Tuscan toast. Topped it off with a poppie, a perfect breakfast!

This cafe is super cute! Be prepared to wait, as the lines can be quite long. We just needed some hot coffee and I was curious about the lilac latte, so we tried those and hubby got also a cinnamon roll. We already had breakfast at the hotel, but looking at other plates the food looked very good and I'll definitely be back to try some of the vegan options they have. The coffee was very good and so was the cinnamon roll.

Super nice, super cute and clean and great food and coffee. I had questions and needed vegan alterations and they were up for it. I got avocado toast on sourdough and a dirty chai latte with oat milk. Nice little lunch.

Lilac iced latte is so good!! Poppies are amazing as well. Came to visit as a tourist and did not disappoint.

Good vegan options! One bummer is some of the veggies had started to go bad but could've been an off day.

Good coffee, cute interior decor and great views. It's a little hidden off of the main street, but there is good signage. Avocado toast was delicious!

Nice little cafe on Mackinac Island. Slightly off the main strip. Worth the wait in line for the lavender latte.

The pesto grilled cheese and chipotle turkey sandwich are both amazing! Would recommend. Only downside is there is limited seating.

He even wished my mom a happy Mother's Day before taking our order, which was a nice touch. We started with the Street Corn Nachos as an appetizer, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich, both with fries on the side (an additional $4 each). This was an excellent place to bring my mom since she's vegetarian, and the restaurant had plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The food was excellent, especially the nachos -- the queso was amazing. The restaurant also gives you a lot of customization options, like swapping chips for fries for an extra $4 or adding protein to the nachos for an additional charge. That said, while the nachos were really good, they were still $18 without any protein, which honestly felt overpriced for chips, cheese, and vegetables. We came during lunch service, and overall the food, service, and view made for a great experience. However, it is definitely on the expensive side. Most entrees seemed to range from around $20-30. Still, if you're willing to spend a little more for quality food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere, it's definitely worth visiting.

There actually is another Doud's down Main Street toward the ferry area, but it's a smaller grab-and-go convenience store, mostly with snacks and coffee. My hotel was right across the street, so I bopped into Doud's a couple of times during my stay, to grab a bottle of wine (they have a decent selection of wine), some candy for my kids, and some fruit because I needed to eat something fresh.
