Upon the threshold of a violate massive storm in my life, I needed legal assistance as I've seen numerous print ads on the notorious New York City's MTA Subway system. Upon entering their very elaborate office it appears Wilens & Baker were a factory operation of impersonal, inattentive customer service to clients and potential clients. I've phone their office for a general inquiry, which was abruptly answered for the lack of time to serve me, and within days physically entered their office without an appointment to be frowned upon and un-invited. While waiting for half-hour for a "free legal consultation" with an attorney to embark my violate massive storm in my life, I was only attended for five measly minutes of their precious time! My questions were vital as this violate massive storm were the biggest yet life altering experience in my life, which Wilens & Baker PC's attorneys clearly with their abrupt blunt abrassive rude attitude does not give a hoot about a human being like myself in deep despair! At my darkest time of my life, of enduring a divorce, only true friends will show their true colors for assistance as money can only go so far when crying for help. Sadly, Wilens & Baker does not even display an ounce of compassion for my darkest and deep despair because their hearts are empty ice cold. No empathy. I remembered the first time approaching the office concerning my immigration case, i felt reassured by (who i believed to be) one of the principals of the company. After retaining the services of the office, things got off to a very rough start, there were times i felt i've made the wrong choice to use the office. I can tell you, "TRUST THEIR PROCESS".. even though you maybe feeling discourage at times, stick with them.. They will work for you. I just found out this morning, after going through my paperworks looking for a totally unrelated piece of document that i realized the law office was able to get documents I've tried but could not obtain for my case and i was never told about those documents until this morning i saw them in my filing and was amazed. I must point out i have gotten my green card over a month now after being denied in 2017. This has got to be the most inefficient lawyers office i have ever step foot into. Not only are they never there when you want to speak to them about important manners, they never return phone calls. They are rude people and aren't considerate of peoples situations. The secretary is the worst. She is rude and even had the nerve to say i have mental problems, all because i kept asking what was taking them so long. The lawyers even ridiculed me. Bakers is super rude, he only attends people if they have money. And if you don't he makes sure that you get out of the office as quick as possible because apparently they have better things to do than attend their potential clients. I would never recommend anyone to go to this place. This is the worst place ever, if you know what is good for you, do NOT go here if you need help. DO NOT USE Wilens & Baker. im not happy. i lost my case .i pay usd2,500 to be helped if anything hapen with my case, but after my case was denied they ask for and extra usd2500 with 1000 upfrot fee plus 700 for emigracion money order to appeal because they said that is was an emigration mistake,that im good . i said ok i pay the emigration money order to star the appeal because i only have 20 days left to appeal. and that i will pay off all in 4 weeks. i was honest i do not have the 1000 up front fee to restart but asked them to at least do not let my case expire and ope the appeal. they said imposible.they do not care that my case expire event after i allready pay 2,500 for my case,now they said that to appeal is a new case and that i have to pay 2500 extra.So the first 2500 were just to fill the aplication.They said that do not waste their time if i do not come with the 1000 upfront.I EXPLAINED THAT DO NO LET THE CASE EXPIRE. JUST GIVE 4 WEEK TO COME WITH THE FEE MONEY BUT THEY SAID NO EVEN WHEN IM ALLREADY A CLIENT THAT PAID 2500 FOR MY CASE AND GIVING THEM THE 700 FOR THE MONEY ORDR TO APPEAL. The worse experience I have EVER had at a Lawyers office! It was my mothers request for me to accompany her to the lawyers office. She was suppose to meet with Mercedes Neira who she claims its a very nice lady to discuss how much they would charge for their services. Once at the office another person took us in. The man when straight to the point and told us they would charge us $2,500 to represent my mother at the family court. Thats fine, the problem came when I asked him a few simple question as to what would that cover. He was extremely RUDE and seemed impatient. For example: I asked him If my mother wanted them to represent her at court when and at what time she could pass by their office (for we didnt even know their office hours). He's reponse was rude. He said "were not open 24 hours a day so of'course she's not going to come in at 9pm...It's regular office hours, from 8-6" I was really upset and felt extremely uncomfortable with this man. I asked him his name, because I wanted to know who was this arrogant, un-human person. He told me "Im Dr. Wilens, Im the person who runs all of these offices". At this point I was ready to go! I told my mother I never wanted her going back to that office. When leaving, my mom wanted to see if it was possible for her to see Mercedes Neria, the lady she was suppose to meet in the first place. So we approached the front desk. Doctor Wilens who was there asked me: "Is there anything else I can help you with" I reply: "Yes, we would like to know if we can see Mercedes". His responce was: "No, shes not available". So I asked: "When would she be available" to which he reply: "She wont be available". Theres more for me to say but Im trying to keep it simple. My over all experience was HORRIBLE!! Instead of feeling comfortable, welcome and satisfy I felt unwelcome, pressured and uncomfortable. I dont think anyone should be received with such arrogance and rudeness. We experienced the rudest lawyer in NYC c/o Mr Lawrence Wilens, the owner himself. He's very impatient and definitely the most unprofessional lawyer I've ever met. Patronized and felt to feel like she was asking for charity. Her last visit she was humiliated and embarrassed when she asked a routine question about her case!!! How dare she??? She has experienced this same behavior from everyone she has encountered in this office. And like the person who left the other review, Tina C. she was cut down to size because she happened to visit the office without an appointment. What is wrong with these people??? I have travel 1hour and 54 minutes to consult this so called lawyer Lawrence M. Wilens and when i get to the office the welcoming was very rude they treat you like the worse human being. Once we got called to an open air round room to discuss our immigration situation with Mr. Wilens all we got from him was purely rudeness from the beginning. In less then five minutes he asked us, why did u come here for? where are you from? and do you have criminal records? we answer to this question briefly as we where not even allowed to explain any of our situation to him. He got up and said No I cannot help you with this matter and left. As we where leaving the office by mistake we took the wrong exit and Mr. Wilens was at the front desk talking to his receptionist and shouted "Hey, Hey, where are you going but in a really rude way, we felt so ashamed since there where other clients there looking at us like were something from another planet. I will not recommend this so called attorney to anybody who will really need an understanding and warmhearted person who would care and understand his clients situation. read more
