The shop is like a candy store, there are so many products available - so many I wanted to buy and try at home. I have bought blue ribbon Alberta steak, with prepared gyoza a bottle spice rub (the Darkside of the Grill Mel Toro Big Beef Rub), carrots and potatoes. The beef rub spice blend was amazing and added great taste to the steak, which itself was amazingly tasty. The carrots and potatoes (which were respectively honey glazed and duck fat flavoured), were also very good and were very tasty sides. Ribeye butcher shop also offers delicious meat pies, sausages and cheeses (just to name a few items of the products sold at the store) are greasy as well. Many frozen food items are offered and great to have at home for future meals. The Ribeye locations are very nice to visit - they are very clean, nicely decorated and have a great display of specialized foods. The staff was very great as well - very knowledgeable and professional, and ready to help with any questions customers have concerning their products. When I asked if the leg meat would do for a stew she said yes it would and would be just as good if not better. I spent $75 on 3 lbs of prepackaged lamb leg (I only needed 2 lbs). Thankfully I researched the difference between leg meat and shoulder meat when I got home or I would have wasted a lot of that meat. Turns out lamb leg doesn't work as well as shoulder for a long-simmered stew. Shoulder needs to be simmered for a long time, as my recipe instructs, where as leg meat gets tough and chalky if simmered for too long. Why didn't she know this? Really disappointed in this place. Overpriced for a butcher that knows very little.
