I recently had my first visit with Dr. Frederick at Hibiscus Medical, and I'm so glad I made the switch. She came highly recommended from a local DC group I'm part of, and from the moment I walked in, I could tell this office was something special. It's beautifully designed--calm, clean, and thoughtfully put together--with the kind of atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Her staff was friendly, welcoming, and organized, and everything ran smoothly from the moment I arrived. Dr. Frederick was warm, attentive, and truly took the time to listen. I could immediately tell she really cares about her patients' well-being and brings a wealth of knowledge to her care. Parking was surprisingly easy, which is almost unheard of in DC. If you're looking for a new primary care doctor who offers thoughtful, patient-centered care in a peaceful and professional setting, I highly recommend Hibiscus Medical. I'm grateful I found them!

I've had blood drawn by this particular tech in the past so I know this person is capable of doing it professionally. I've also had blood drawn about a dozen times in the past 3 years by 8 or 9 different lab techs, and I have not once had an issue. I will never return to this lab and I encourage people to stay away. The bad: The office staff are good, but the overall environment is poor (long waits). The good: my doctor is really good and I will return to see her.

His office may be a little dated, but that is largely because he has served an underprivileged community for many years. He detected a UTI on my first visit. My previous doctor never even thought to look for it. When I lost my meds on the way back from the pharmacy, he understood and wrote me a new prescription. He maintains walk-in hours, which few doctors do, and accepts most insurance with no hassle. My only beef is his varied office hours, which sometimes makes it difficult to schedule an appointment.

I easily scheduled an appointment and understood what to expect from the initial intake appointment. Todd took the time during our first important to understand the cause of my pain and the issues before clearly laying out suggestions for a course of treatment. I very much appreciated this approach, because not only did I know what to expect, I understood when I may expect to see improvement. Todd is calm, patient, consistent, kind and clearly explains his procedures and approach for each appointment. The staff was very helpful and recognized the long wait. They told me the best time to come is right at opening, as the later in the day appointments have been pushed causing longer wait times.
