I can't say enough about these folks! They were the only people I trusted to take care of my pittie Piglet during any trips away, long or short. I LOVED that when I called, they always remembered Piglet and said how excited they were to see her again. They were so flexible and compassionate with me when I unexpectedly had to drop Piglet off for an undetermined amount of time due to a tragic death in the family during the pandemic. During the week or so Piglet was there, they went absolutely above and beyond to make an already emotional and stressful time that much easier and never made any of our calls or texts feel transactional-- I always felt like they genuinely cared and Piglet was being well-loved. Unfortunately, I've since moved out of state and have to use another local boarder. Willamette Valley Dog & Cat Motel sets the bar high and nothing quite compares to these guys. Word of note: we didn't actually end up boarding our dog with these folks but they were so amazing throughout our interactions with them I just had to say how wonderful and friendly their customer service is. Also I know my sister's dog has boarded work then several times and the dog and my sister are so happy with their experiences. We scheduled boarding as we traveled up from California for a family reunion. We were nervous that our dog and my sister's dog might not get along well. Throughout our booking process, the staff were so responsive and kind! A bit of a drive out of town but top notch care for your pets. I have two big dogs who suddenly decided at 4 yrs of age, they just didn't like each other. It takes planning and skill to handle difficult situations like mine and the folks there have their facility set up to do that. They have adequate numbers of well-trained staff who make it look easy but make you feel they can handle whatever comes up. Their facility is clean and lacks the unpleasant smell of similar businesses. They will help you carry your dog beds and blankets as well as help take the dogs in and deliver them to the car when you are ready to go home. They have various schedules tailored to your dog for exercise, feeding and play. They do have an unusual pricing practice of charging by the day rather than 24 hours. That means you can drop your dog off at noon one day and pick them up before noon the next day and be charged for two whole days. Thus, you can only be charged for one day if you pick your pet up by 5. If you pick up the next morning you pay for 2 days. I think their high quality care is probably worth it but you should be prepared for that twist. Other than that, I think they are a great facility. read more

After a week stay, I got my cats back safe, but my cat who is disabled had poop in his carrier at pickup. They warned me about it, but had time to clean it and did not. I've never had another experience like this, at Linda's Kitty Inn near Eugene or at Cat Sitting hotels in West Seattle. My cat shouldn't have to sit in his poop for the car ride home, especially if that happened while he was under your care. read more

We brought our pup here while we went out of town for a long weekend (Thursday - Monday, with pick up @ 5:00 PM Monday). The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed to genuinely care about our dog. We didn't pay for any of the extras, but the let us know that they kept our dog in the office for sociable time for half of the first day that she was dropped off, because she seemed nervous. I loved that they put in this extra effort to make our dog feel more comfortable and relaxed! It made me feel that they genuinely cared, and it seemed to make our dog more relaxed there too. In addition, our dog was hanging out in the front office when I came to pick her up, and while she couldn't wait to go home, she seemed happy and healthy when I picked her up. All in all, next time we board her this is the place we will take her! read more

This boarding facility is one of the best ones in the Eugene area. We took both of our dogs here while on a weekend vacation. Once we returned home we noticed our rental had flooded and called Willamette Valley motel back and asked if they would take both of our dogs back while our rental was remodeled. They agreed and accommodated us for a last minute two week stay. They were extremely kind and professional and very patient with us while we tried to determine how long the dogs were needing to stay. They called and updated us frequently which we appreciated. They called and let us know one of our dogs wasn't allowing medication to be administered and we figured out a plan. They also updated us on the dogs becoming too rough being boarded together and asked us what we'd prefer. They then accommodated another sleeping area to separate them. I just love how honest, professional and kind the employees are here. It's always great to leave your dogs with a business that updates you and involves you in any change of plans. We absolutely love this boarding facility, this is the only facility in Eugene that we feel comfortable leaving both of our dogs at. Very respectable business that we highly recommend! read more

had an experience with Willamette Valley dog and cat Motel. me and my partner took a trip to the Midwest for 4 days 3 nights. At first they were extremely friendly and kind. It seemed like our dog was in good hands. we had a flight delay and had to stay one extra day, they were aware of this from the beginning we gave them extra food just in case. two extra days worth of food. they expressed that he was already out of food and that they might not be able to keep him. I expressed how he should have extra food even if he did stay the extra day, they changed their tune and said it would be fine. on the day that we picked him up everything was going smooth, we paid our bill and was waiting to receive my dog. while we were waiting they brought out his provided items that we left for him. he does eat pretty quick so we provided a slow feeding bowl. when we receive the bowl it was badly damaged. The young lady behind the counter said that the dog chewed on it, and that's where the damages came from. our dog has never been a chewer, going on 11 years old. we chalked it up as a loss and then proceeded to the car to wait for a dog. when they brought my dog out his face was covered in blood, he did have a skin tag below his eye on his snout, during the Time that they had our dog it was ripped off and not taken care of. we went back inside and inquired about the dog and how it happened, after the young lady told us the stories we asked to see the manager or whoever was in charge. after waiting about 30 minutes the owner came and talked with me, I inquired about the dish and my dog being hurt. told the owner what the worker told me and expressed. after the owner looked at the food bowl, we both came to the conclusion that it was thrown or smashed. no teeth marks at all. and then after she saw the damages on my dog, she waived the entire fee. Express how sorry she was and how translucent she is trying to make the situation. it was a real shady experience, even when dealing with the owner. I would highly recommend you do your research before you put your fur babies in someone else's care. and would recommend even more to avoid Willamette Valley dog and cat Motel. my dog has a scar on his face now, and to be honest me and my partner are kind of nervous to even allow another facility to look after him. this was my first time dealing with A animal boarding facility, and they me left a really bad taste. read more

Ditto about Susan S's review. I recently moved to Eugene/Springfield from out of state. Before moving here I had taken in two sheltered guinea pigs. I brought them to Eugene with me. While searching for an apartment to live in, I had to board my two pets somewhere, and chose Willamette Valley Dog and Cat Motel based on their web site, and also the kindness the staff showed over the phone. They are the best. My two guineas are old males, weighing about three pounds each. They are rather fragile - at my out-of-state town no one wanted them and they were going to die in the original animal shelter, which is why I adopted them. They have since turned out to be quite acclimated to me and full of personality. They do require quite a bit of care. The staff of Willamette took them in for three weeks, and took excellent care of them both. The staff previously had little experience with guineas, according to them, and so I instructed them on the care of these two elderly male guineas. They followed my instructions incredibly well during those three weeks, and they gave my pets daily attention and TLC. During the three week stay, I visited often to check on my pets and to give them snacks. Each time I came by, the cage set-up was clean and well supplied with fresh food, water, and even snacks. While there I was able to also witness firsthand the excellent care that these staff give to dogs and cats. As it states on their web site, they indeed do "love animals and it shows." The facility is clean, and well organized. The staff are enthusiastic about their work, and kind. The size of pens is adequate, even for large pets. The facility is located in an area away from downtown that is surrounded by natures greenery. There are outdoor areas on-site where they walk pets that any pet would delight to be in. Their work is responsible, thorough, with attention to detail coupled with sincere caring for animals of all kinds. Their prices are very reasonable. I believe anyone can be assured that their own pet(s) will be kept safe and well cared for, when housed at this pet motel. read more

I have an aggressive dog that is a little hard to get to know and they were wonderful and knowledgeable in making sure that he was comfortable and that he felt safe. I have a border collie. She is very social, good around people and other pets. I have boarded her twice now, once for 4 days and once for a week. She can have office time, extra walks, extra play time (costs extra of course) you can have them use your food or theirs. The staff every time I go in are friendly and helpful, there's usually a dog in the office for office time. I just love this place. The stalls are air conditioned. It's got donkeys on the property by it. And it's 2 seconds from the airport which I have flown out of both times and makes it super convenient!!! She is always happy when she comes out to greet me, not scared. Highly recommend. read more

This is actually from last June I just have not had a chance to post until now. I boarded my dog for a week while the rest of my family moved to Eugene. She was at the time happy and crate trained when I picked her up she was a separation anxiety, and un-crate trained mess. She would not go into her crate and the few times I was able to tempt her into it she would get extremely stressed out and would jump at the door to get out. Even now she is skittish about being trapped in spaces such as our walk in kitchen if i enter the doorway while she is in there. I paid for off leash time and while i checked the Facebook page and saw other dogs enjoying their off leash time i did not see her on any of the posts. I did not receive any calls from them telling me she had any problems. I would not recommend boarding your dog there. read more

Have boarded our dogs here 3 times, and they have been quite happy. The place is well designed, CLEAN, and in a country setting, yet near the airport. The staff is terrific and very attentive to each dog's needs; they document everything! The outdoor space for off-lead play is fine, with a pool and sprinkler in summer, plus you may opt for the "wilderness walk", among other things. The prices are quite reasonable. They also have a separate building for the Cattery, which looks nice. read more

I cannot recommend WDCM enough. We first brought our crazy lab, Hannah, there a couple months ago and I know she's not easy with strangers. She's not your typical, social Lab, and is actually quite afraid of people other than our little family. Since her first time in, the staff has been welcoming, friendly and reassuring to both Hannah and us. She is completely getting used to the place and loved there as their own. We cannot thank the staff enough for their amazing attitudes and willingness to work with our crazy, timid girl. She's evolving and we are happy that they've been a part of it. On top of it all, they sent us a postcard that we just came home to, with a progress report from her stay the past few days and a discount for her next stay. I took my two Chows here a couple years ago and the place left a very good impression on me. The staff is very friendly and reassuring. We hated leaving our dogs at a boarding facility and felt uncomfortable because we had never done it before and were going to be gone more than a couple days. When we got there, our dogs were welcomed with smiles. A lot of places don't work with Chows at all because they have a bad reputation. This place said to bring em on in! I loved that they reassured us we were leaving our dogs in good hands. We were a little tearful when we actually left and they were totally understanding. The day we were set to come back and pick them up, we realized we might be a little late and weren't sure if we could pick the dogs up in time. We called the kennel and they said they would wait for us. Upon our return, we were given a "report card" on how our dogs behaved. I thought that was a really cute idea instead of just saying, "Oh yeah, they were fine..." Our dogs were taken on walks every day two or three times a day and they looked completely happy and stress-free. This place really goes above and beyond what a business should do. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a homey facility to leave their dog or cat with while away on vacation, etc. read more

We have been taking our dogs here for the past five years and have always been pleased by their service! Our dogs absolutely love it there and run to the door when ever we take them there! I had a family emergency back east and had to drop them off in a hurry to catch a flight. My dogs are on human grade food diets so they don't eat kibble. I didn't have time to go buy dog food so just had them eating the house food. I received a call a couple days later from them letting me know that they had upset stomachs from the food change. In the conversation they suggested they go buy the normal food for my dogs. I was hesitant at first because the only place in Eugene to buy their food was a half hour away in South Eugene. They insisted it would not be a problem. Absolutely outstanding service! I wouldn't trust my dogs to stay anywhere else! Thank you so much for taking amazing care of my dogs!!!! read more

I boarded my pet at this business for several days. When I picked up my pet he had obviously lost some weight. When we got home he ran to his water bowl and drank for several minutes. He also ate a lot of food. It was obvious to me he was not fed and watered properly. When I visited his cage at the motel both his food and water bowl were empty. The people at this place did not seem too concerned with the animal's health and well being. Most of the employees seemed to be kids/college students. I would not recommend this boarding facility. we have boarded our wire fox terriers many times at wvdc. they have gotten very good attention and love their off lead time. i would be a fool to believe that they got treated like they do at home...they get treated better i am sure. they stand at the door and beg to go in, so that speaks for itself. read more
