I was rescuing a foster puppy but hadn't been informed that she had been exposed to distemper,until after she arrived. I hurriedly got my 4 dogs into boarding even though they were vaccinated,I wanted to keep my wolf safe,since our last foster gave her kennel cough. The morning I was supposed to pick up my pack,I got a call as I was heading out the door.One of my dogs was dead,they wouldn't tell me who,even though they knew. I was in shock but tried to keep everything straight so when I finally had time to process it,I would have all the facts committed to memory in order. I arrived and saw the love of my life on a rolling cart. She was covered in blood. Her jugular had been severed and her intestines eaten out. After kissing her face and telling her I loved her more than anything,I wanted to see my other dogs.One of my dogs had many cuts on her so the staff thought she was guilty,but that dog is very submissive,afraid of everything,and she worshipped my wolf.The reason she had so many cuts was because the dog who killed my wolf went after her first. The best friend of the wolf had broken a tooth probably from trying to intervene.She also had bite marks on her face so the guilty dog had also gone after her. When I asked Cody what happened he said he had heard lots of barking around 4a,but it ended quickly. Upon asking him 2 other times,once he responded he only heard a scuffle no barking,and the last time he said no one heard anything. The first time I asked him about what happened that day,he said he fed them after I left but I said I was here until 2 and you said you fed them at 2 for their last meal.He said oh then I fed them at 1 because you were coming.Then he didn't check on them again until the next morning at 7a.1p to 7a is a long time to keep 4 big dogs together in a space that no more than 2 small dogs should share,especially when their own rules say no more than 2 dogs would be kept together at a time. The next time I asked what happened he said he fed them at 2p and they all wanted to be together in the same space. Well that's not true,because my wolf and her best friend were terrified to go into the barn.I don't even want to think about what they went through to make them that afraid to go into the barn,but my dogs were brave,so it must not have been good. The 3rd time I asked what happened that day Cody said,I followed your written directions.I said well that can't be right because my directions said to feed them 12 hours apart and you stop feeding them at 2p you said. Months afterwards he says that I had been feeding them when I visited,which I wouldn't do,because that's THEIR job.So that means they were being starved the whole time they were there.They were getting breakfast maybe,but then I would visit so they weren't being fed dinner,not at 2p,or7p like instructed in writing on their paperwork. So then,they didn't feed them,kept all 4 big dogs stuck together like sardines in a tiny little cell,that was hot,that they didn't let out for 17 hours!!!And then they tried to skirt their accountability by saying I was feeding them when I wasn't,which only proves Cody wasn't feeding them either. ALL of this could have been avoided if Cody had checked with me,hey your dogs are all together in the same cell,should I separate them,like they had supposedly been doing?And I would've said yes,separate them.Or if Cody had asked hey,when you visited,did you feed them?I would've said no,because that's your job.Just like it's your job to follow your own rules of not having more than 2 dogs together at a time. And now...I get to wake up screaming out of dreams periodically,though this happened 7 months ago,and I can't stop missing my dog who died so tragically,who was then vomited up by the dog who killed her,and that dog had to be euthanized because she could never be around other animals safely again.I have 2 dogs left who are traumatized,one of whom was blamed by the staff because they couldn't figure out that she was attacked first.Yet Cody still works there,the staff still defends him,when he's completely in the wrong,can't read dog behavior at all,didn't do his job,completely neglected feeding them or letting them out,for 17 hours!!!And I will never get my love back :( Now that they are being completely dismissive,and didn't even bother with an investigation,or holding Cody accountable for his negligence,now I can't stay quiet. I know I can't be the first to have my pets be treated badly,or neglected,and I'm terrified for anyone who brings their pets there. Please keep your animals safe and take them ANYWHERE else. I miss my wolf girl every day.She's never out of mind,nor is my guilt for taking her to the place where she would meet her death,due to their lack of care,neglect and dismissive behavior.

I was scheduled to pick my dog up on a Tuesday (dropped off Saturday AM), however I was going to be delayed and not going to be able to be back until Wednesday. I called the kennel to discuss at 3pm on Monday. I received no answer so left a message. There was no return call that night and I called again at 8 am Tuesday, no answer again. After leaving another message I called every hour that morning. Finally I asked my son to leave work to go get my dog as I was overwhelmed with worry. When he arrived to pick up my dog they were unable to locate all the items I had brought in and were generally disorganized. I can't say that my dog was mistreated but he was certainly stressed. While I was panicking about my dog Tuesday morning I unfortunately found a very sad review on Yelp about West Eugene Kennel. I would recommend finding kennel services elsewhere. Don't take the chance.

All the pups are vetted before being admitted, so we've never had to worry about aggression from other dogs. And they're super attentive, even calling me at work once when they spotted a small wound that I didn't notice that morning (she got it hiking through brush with her dad the previous evening; it was minor, but I so appreciated their concern). Most of all, Schatzi loves it there. She gets so excited when I tell her it's time to go to "school." I don't think you could find a kinder, cleaner, safer place to bring your fur kid.

The staff were very friendly but ultimately they lost our business and here's why: My older dog had a hard time there. He's nervous. At pickup we were told he actually bit the handler, because he tried to escape the kennel and he grabbed him suddenly. He reassured me that "dogs bite for a reason" - which is true. I actually felt bad about the injury and we didn't take him back. One staff member said he could return, but the staff member who was bitten implied that he probably will never acclimate to them. My other dog is social and confident. She returned a couple times for doggy play dates. I liked her having somewhere to be and something to do while I worked. However, CB requires you bring your dog at least once a week for them to be able to socialize with the dog groups. This is financially problematic for me. I could probably do every other week, but that wasn't sufficient for them. They know the dogs temperaments and they're all familiar with each other, so the weekly requirement is such a price gouge. Without those weekly visits, she'd be confined to one on one play with the humans only. That sucks. The real final problem for me was a social media post I saw, almost a year ago. They posted a dog recipe for something that included garlic. Garlic is apparently a controversial topic. I responded to their story that garlic is toxic to dogs. See the photo along with this review. They responded that garlic is ok in small amounts, despite the known toxin. This was bewildering to me. Why would you post anything that could potentially harm a dog? What if the recipe is wrong? What if a dog is more sensitive than others? The logic here is "toxins in small amounts are ok" and I cannot get behind a place that thinks that. I'm leaving my dog in their care. What else might be ok in small amounts? A little bit of mishandling is ok? A little bit of other toxins? As long as they survive it's ok? Where is the line? The mistrust here tipped the scale to never returning.

We knew that we needed someone who could come to the house because Tucker has a lot of anxiety and a kennel is just not the place for him. My husband and I also do a lot of traveling and many times it is not feasible to bring Tucker. I found Zach and Felicia on yelp and figured I would give them a call. Zach came over to meet Tucker and I just knew from this meeting that we had found our pet sitter. Tucker has many anxiety issues and he tends to be apprehensive around men, but he warmed up to Zach right away. We call on Zach and Felicia every time we need to leave town and they have always been there for us. Sometimes we have even had to call on them last minute and they still make it work! We had a crazy schedule this summer and they were able to take care of him each time. While we are away, they send us updates to let us know how he is doing. This helps me to relax, knowing that he is in good hands. The best part is that when we return home, Tucker is happy. I find their $15 a visit rate to be extremely reasonable especially because I know they are taking such good care of our dog. They also offer overnight visits and boarding from their home, which are both great options. We are all so thankful that we met this wonderful couple! I highly recommend them!

I waited quite a while to get my dog mainly because I wanted to be able to be around the house for him, so it was important to me to select a good pet sitter who would be able to take him out to the bathroom and refresh his food bowl if needed. I contacted a few other Yelpers about their experience with LPPC, and had an overall good feeling. Larry and Margaret, the owners of the company (a retired couple who purchased the company from some UO students a little while ago), came to visit me and the puppy and were extremely friendly and personable. Their rates are good, too, especially for multiple walks paid for up-front (they offer a discount and will let you schedule your visits however you'd like)--I paid $135 for 10 visits, which works out to be a discount of $1.50 off the normal $15/visit rate. They were extremely flexible with payment, allowing me to leave a check to be picked up on their second visit. Most importantly, though, Hiro seems to like all of them a great deal, and Margaret always leaves very nice and detailed notes about their visits. (She even suggested that I move his kennel closer to the door, as he is a bit excitable and tends to have piddle accidents when new people show up at the apartment.) Overall I find these folks very trustworthy, and I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.

He literally lives within 400 yards of PetSmart, and brings his dogs in here instead for grooming. After a couple bad experiences at PetSmart with grooming, he found this place instead, and it's worth the drive. As I said, I went to pick up the dogs. I was immediately greeted by the staff when I walked up. They keep the doors locked, and a staff member comes out. Which keeps the dogs from being extra stressed and/or potentially escaping. So I like that. She brought me the dogs and I paid her. I didn't know if/how much the friend usually tipped, so I said I'm skipping that part. Which was fine. He took a cash tip in later. This was also a last minute appointment where they had a cancellation, or the groomer came in on her day off, I can't remember the specifics, and squeezed the dogs in. Which is awesome. This screams customer service, and going the extra mile to me. They let me know one of the dogs had a scratch on his paw when they gave him a bath, so we could keep an eye on it. I asked if it happened there or he had it before going in. Which the answer was before, and I'm pretty sure I know how it happened. But they seemed honest anyway, like if it had happened there, they would have told me. I love how stress-free it is for the dogs to go here for grooming. It's one of those noticeable things. Like, I've seen the dogs visibly agitated after going to PetSmart, and it can take a few hours to get them settled again. When I picked them up here, it was like any other normal day, and they got in the truck with me, and settled instantly. So that's a big deal to both me and my friend. Would I return here? Yes! I don't have dogs, so I'm not going unless it's to deal with my friend's dogs. But between everything he's told me and my own experience with his dogs here, it is an excellent business to support.
