This is a great barber shop. I'm pretty picky about where I get my hair cut and tend to be a creature of habit once I find the right place. I'm not into the $75 salon cut since I basically get a buzz cut with a few snips of the scissor. Nonetheless, I've had some truly terrible hair cuts from other "barbershops" in my lifetime. Williard Barber Shop is the real deal though. The shop is clean and bright with a TV in the waiting area. They are well-staffed so a long wait is rare and they are all friendly and professional. The attention to detail is great, I've never had a sloppy looking cut. Hot towel and a straight-edge shave on the back of the neck 100% of the time. I highly recommend Willard Barber Shop and will continue to get my hair cut here. read more

I have been going here for years and NEVER had an issue. Compared to my local girls this haircut is so much more thorough and includes many extras like eyebrows, straight razor, and hot towel. I would prefer not to let the guy cut my hair (nothing personal, I just think women do a better job and ensure those ear hairs are eliminated). I've been going to Willard Barber Shop for over three years now. My hair is thin, and it's very difficult to find barbers who know how to cut hair that is like that and make it look good. I've been seen by most of the barbers in the shop and they have done a great job. My go to person is Thao. She's great. I've seen her many times and she knows how to style hair well. No reservations are needed. At most I've had 3 people waiting in front of me. The barbers take their time, too, so it's not like they try to rush you out of there. It is a Vietnamese run shop, but all of the barbers are able to understand me when I explain how I would like my hair cut. read more

Went to Willard Barber (Thu) for more than a decade. Got to the point that I told Thu that we didn't need to do the end of cut mirror routine since I was always satisfied with her skills. Always gave her a substantial tip. The last trip there ended up with a terrible hair cut. One side longer than the other and the back could almost be long enough to start a pony tail. That will teach me about being too complacent. Had to find another barber that cared at another barber shop. read more

I've gotten 2 haircuts from this place. The 1st time was immaculate. The 2nd haircut (September 5, 2016) was downright awful. How awful? I had several cut marks and a gash to the back of my ear. I was bleeding in several spots and especially from the back of the ear. My wife pointed these cuts as we walking back to the car. We walked back inside the shop and right away everyone noticed; customers included. We did not make a scene and we quietly asked if we could get some tissues or a band-aid to help clean up the mess. There were a few kids getting haircuts at the time so we didn't want to alarm them. However, at this point everyone saw the owner pull out band-aids and rubbing alcohol. The owner apologized and patched me up. The lady that cut my hair also apologized, but it was pretty obvious she knew she had cut me and did not say anything before we left the first time. I got patched up and we quietly left. I'm giving this place 2 stars because the first haircut I got earlier this summer was amazing. The 2nd star is also for the fact that they were open on Labor Day, so I was pretty appreciative of that. However, after this last haircut, I am questioning whether or not I will ever go back. I really wanted to like this place. Others have given it great reviews which lead me to them. However, after my last experience here, I may have to find another barber in town. read more

I went to this barbershop because I was suggested by my friends at Alexandria so it was a 30 minute drive but I went. When I got there to get the haircut, I was greeted kindly by the humble barbers in this barbershop and it was great. I asked for a bowlcut style haircut and it was accurate. I would come back here. I'm not a complicated cut but this is the only place in the area that I trust to make me look good that isn't massively overpriced. They take their time and work to give the whole experience by shaving your neck and using a hot towel afterwards. The barber was a pretty cool guy--though there wasn't much conversing (I was elsewhere in my thoughts so wasn't very talkative). I'm 53 and have had a lot of haircuts in my life. I will say The Willard Barbershop has the best and most consistent haircuts I have ever experienced. The atmosphere is very friendly and you are treated to a hello every time you walk in no matter how busy they are. I was fortunate enough to have found them when I relocated to the area 2 years ago. Occasionally if I happen to come in on Tin's day off (Thursday) or the wait is too long (another sign of the quality here), I've gotten a great haircut from Ms. Hong or others on staff. We went this morning to get a haircut for my two year old, on a suggestion from a friend who's had a good experience here with her kids. There were two people ahead of us when we arrived. Nobody greeted or acknowledged us, which is fine, since not everyone is trained in customer service. Despite this, I was initially pleased because there were kids' board books and a few toys in the waiting area. This kept my kid's attention during the 20 minutes we were waiting. He quietly read the books and sat in our laps. When it was our turn, the lady made a face when we said the haircut was for our child. Clearly she was uncomfortable cutting a toddler's hair. That's fine, please don't make a face at customers, and just say you'd rather not. My husband asked the other two stylists, "Is there anyone who can cut his hair?" And the other two shook their heads "no" as if to say, "not it" but nobody said anything, and continued cutting their clients' hair. Frustrated, we got up to leave, and the male stylist said, "You're coming back later?" The only words spoken to us since we had arrived. Probably not. 25 minutes wasted.
