Fight the power! This little mom and pop (actually brother and sister) store rocks! It first got my attention with the sun glare off the mirrors they have outside their very unassuming store. Forget that mirror that everyone has from Pottery Barn, Willging will make you a custom-made one for about the same price! We bought a custom mirror that someone ended up not buying and had a matching one made for less than what PB would have cost. From then on, it's became the only place I go for all my framing needs as well (e.g. Lindsay's mug shot, Britney's wig, etc.). They are extremely nice, down-to-earth, knowledgeable and will help you find a hard-to-find item through a seemingly endless supply of contacts around the world. They are totally dependent on word-of-mouth, so why not word-of-Yelp too? read more

This is our local go-to spot to get art framed. Their custom frames and UV protected glass is really affordable compared to some of the bigger chains (Michales, etc.). Getting smaller items customers framed is pricier, but large items are super reasonable so it balances out. read more

I spoke with Theresa (hopefully not misspelling name) and she was more than happy to help me out. She gave me a quote and offered me many options. I was sold by there customer service and just how well they handled everything. I just picked up my "Straight Outta Compton" frame earlier this afternoon and let me tell you that this frame was crafted from the creator himself. I needed a framer and saw that Willging had lots of positive reviews on Yelp. I was delighted to find that Joe Willging was very personable and lifelong resident of the valley. He explained his shop used to be in Sherman Oaks but he moved it to North Hollywood to be closer to the studios. I enjoyed discussing the neighborhood and history of the area with him when I dropped my piece off and discussing John Lennon with him when I picked my piece up. Just finished covering pretty much every inch of wall space in my place I moved into three years ago, and Willging came through on each and every piece they framed for me, whether big or small, simple or elaborate. Also, they took just as much stellar care whether I was buying something expensive or if they were just cutting a new mat for me that they were making only a couple bucks on. I've framed around 20 things with them now, and they never once tried to upsell me like I've seen happen in other shops. So I just wanted to reiterate everything I wrote in my original review below. These guys have become like "family" to me over the years, and now I've joked with them that I will miss seeing them -- because I'm completely out of wall space! You can't beat Willging's pricing, their selection, their friendliness, their quality, and their creative eye. I honestly don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. Well, I guess if you live in like Venice or something then okay. But still -- maybe think about making the trip. They're that good! read more

This is the only place I will go for my framing! I have been going here for years and have only had good experiences. Everything in my home is framed by them. I am a photographer and I recommend them to clients! The owners are the nicest people ever and are extremely helpful. They take great pride and care of your art. They truly are professional and know what they are doing. They keep records of everything for their clients so you can keep your framing consistent. I should start by saying that I haven't actually gotten anything framed, but I had a very specific project with binding letters written on onion paper for a present. It wasn't something that they could do, but they were so great to send me recommendations and were really helpful in referring me to people. Next time I need something framed I will be going to them. I love independent businesses and go out of my way to find and support them. I have to say that Willging Art Services did a very good job on the item I ordered. Things definitely didn't work out as well as I'd hoped, though. After not hearing from them for almost two weeks, I called them and learned that my item had been ready for some time. They apologetically told me that they couldn't understand why I hadn't been notified. That same day, I drove over 20 miles to pick up my piece only to find that it was badly damaged; that should have been detected before I got there. They sent out the piece to redone but, once again, I had to called to find out that the item was ready. They were pretty blase about the whole thing and didn't offer even the slightest discount or a 'Please try us again. We'll do better next time.' The irony is that friends had told me about a framer much closer but I'd wanted to give these folks a try. Again, we're very happy with the finished item and the price was reasonable but the service, though very personable and friendly in the shop itself, was oddly disconnected in the follow-up. I'm still shaking my head over it but I just brought over $1000 in work to another shop rather than go back to Willging. read more

i took a painting i had done for my dad of his beloved dog who passed on a little over a month ago. It was done in pastel which takes some special handling. The brother and sister who run the place not only know what they're doing but seem to really enjoy it. Went in there yesterday (with a mirror I purchased from somewhere else might I add) with a few questions about the frame and securing it to the wall. Not only did they answer all my questions, they added new hooks on to it, and sent me away with the proper wall hangers, ALL FREE OF CHARGE! This is a place that understands customer service. I went in to have a signed movie poster framed. While I was there another person was picking up a framed Kobe jersey and a Tony Hawk skateboard. They looked awesome! I came back a month later with my signed Springsteen T shirt. They set it back in the frame with mating and it looks fantastic. When I picked up my frame there was a framed electric guitar and photo by a band called Reckless Kelly in a shadow box that looked pretty cool, too.
