What we were going through was incredibly scary and overwhelming, but the doctors, nurses, PCAs, and entire PICU team made an experience that was so frightening feel a little easier for our family. I cannot fully express how grateful I am for Dr. Aryan Ali and his entire team. The compassion, professionalism, patience, and dedication they showed us meant more than words can say. They not only cared for my child medically, but they also gave us reassurance and comfort during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. And the nurses--WOW! I want to give a very special thank-you to Claire, Thalia, Mia, and Joan. Your kindness, compassion, and the way you cared for us will never be forgotten. You made us feel heard, supported, and safe when we needed it most. I also want to recognize the PCAs, including Ari and Ktis. You welcomed us with such warmth and kindness and made us feel like we were not alone. Every little act of kindness made a difference. The PICU team was truly amazing. There are honestly no words that can fully express how thankful I am for every person who played a part in our care. I came here for an annual check up. I've had chronic issues with breathing. Dr. Lander also specializes in allergies, so I took the allergy test shots to see what I was allergic too. The process was long, but throughout the whole process Dr. Lander and his medical assistant were very kind and patient. If you're planning to take the test, I would day allot about an hour for all the testing and questions. I asked a bunch of questions and they were addressed. During my visit, there was another patient next door that appeared to have an episode of something and from what I could hear was vomiting. Although Dr. Lander was helping me and was abruptly interrupted by the very sick patient, he hurried to the next room to see what was wrong. The way he handled the situation and at the same time, letting me know he hasn't forgotten about me was handled really well. I would most definitely be coming back to Dr. Lander's office for future appointments. In addition, there is a small parking area that can accommodate up to 3 cars. Otherwise, the street parking around the area isn't too bad.

I remember once coming in to see Dr. Hentek with a chest and sinus infection. She saw me, gave me a perscription and left the office. When she came back in the exam room, she noticed I was in pain and couldn't stand. She asked me about it and wrote me a perscription for that as well. . Dr. Hentek saw that I was in pain and treated me for that distress. I'm thankful for her genuine concern. I realized that it didn't occur to me to ask her about anything for my back because I'd been told that the pain would pass by another physician and that I should just take Alieve. I'm a person of color and as such, I've experienced doctors who are hesitant to perscribe pain medication so I subconsiously didn't ask even though I was in the doctor's office. I have changed general physicians though. I had a visit with Dr. Hentek after I'd lost a significant amount of weight 30+ lbs. Dr. Hentek made a comment to me about making an effort to loose more. I shared my regiment and told her about the results I'd had in the previous months and instead of suggesting alternate options she just told me about the negative effects of excess weight and told me to loose more. Of course I have some idea of the negative effects of excess weight otherwise I wouldn't have embarked on the effort I did to loose the weight I had. Physically the doctor is larger than I am so I felt she should be a little more sensitive and construct in offering feedback on weightloss. I was pretty insulted so I'm no longer seeing Dr. Hentek. Women if you're a size 14 or above; you might want to see another doctor.

I was seen by a woman physician over video call who was incredibly rude. I needed to get a birth…read morecontrol refill and my physician kept rolling her eyes at me and demanding for me to show her a picture of my prescription even though I told her the exact name and dosage that I am currently on. She yelled at her receptionist demanding why her computer was not logged into the correct profile while she was on the call with me which is so unprofessional and I felt horrible for the receptionist. She sent my medication to my pharmacy and when I asked which one, she looked at me like I was stupid and said "the one we have on file" which she knows was taken down six months ago. Any normal professional working in this field would ask if I need my pharmacy updated. Edit: I received a pleasant call from the head doctor of this urgent care profusely apologizing for this incident. He told me that he would not let this happen again and was very kind and thoughtful over the phone. I also got a phone call from the original practitioner that I had seen ensuring that I received my medication.

Not having had a full check-up in an embarrassing amount of time, I finally decided to bite the…read morebullet and get a physical just to make sure everything was in working order. I picked Dr. Minnerop pretty much at random off a list of in-network providers close to my apartment. After my terrible experience with her, I'm probably not going to be able to muster up the courage to go back to a doctor for a loooong time. It was so bad, I don't even know where to start. In a nutshell: 1) Both times I saw her, I arrived at my scheduled time and ended up having to wait several hours in a packed waiting room. 2) She had terrible bedside manner. First, after doing an EEG and hearing the benign heart murmur I've had since childhood and which no doctor has ever been concerned about, she visibly freaked out and told me she thought I had rheumatic fever (which is a serious chronic heart condition that doesn't really exist anymore outside of the third world). I went to a specialist and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my heart. They couldn't believe that the doctor even thought of rheumatic fever. Dr. Minnerop never bothered to get back to me with these results, but luckily the cardiologist had the decency to return my calls and put my mind at ease. 3) She also referred me for a mammogram because she felt a little lumpiness in my breasts (which is totally normal for young women), and because my mother had cancer in her 60s (which according to every other doctor I have spoken to, does not increase my odds of breast cancer at all, as we're negative for the breast cancer gene and there's no family history of pre-menopausal cancer). But, anyway, I totally get being cautious. The thing that pissed me off is that after I went to a specialist and was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my breasts and that I did not need to have another mammogram or ultrasound until I was 40, Dr. Minnerop told me that she would like me to come back every 3 months for her to "monitor my condition." Why the heck would a general practitioner with no specialized breast cancer knowledge or examination equipment need to monitor someone who has nothing wrong, when the specialist did not recommend any follow up? Um, sounds again like Dr. M is trying to keep the revenue stream flowing, no? 4) When I came in to get my lab results, she told me everything was fine and tried to dismiss me after 5 minutes. I noticed myself that my cholesterol seemed a little high (even though it was within normal limits) and asked her about it. Once I mentioned this, she tried to prescribe me medication and told me that my heart had probably already been irrevocably damaged. Never mind that I'd already had a full battery of heart tests which came back fine and that she wasn't even going to mention the cholesterol until I brought it up. I asked about dietary changes like eating more "good fats" but she said she'd never heard of any connection between diet and cholesterol and that pharmaceutical treatment was the only answer. Yes, I know this is a little of a rant, but I just had to get it out of my system. She is the epitome of why I tend to avoid doctors and I just feel sorry for all of her long time patients who put up with wasting whole days waiting for follow-up appointments for non existant health conditions. Please.

She has a sincere heart felt…read moreconcern for her patients, and she provides old school genuine care in a world where healthcare marketing, and fear of malpractice suits has made honest doctors virtually extinct. She is a highly cultivated and capable doctor. However, her waiting room scene is often out of hand. Average wait time to see her is 1-3 hours. She usually fits me in but I think Dr. Minnerop perhaps sees too many patients, and is at times a perfectionist. The difference being that Dr. Minnerop genuinely cares about her patients, and that is why she does things that way whereas many doctors today make you repeat tests etc. because of the system.
