It's exactly what it sounds like--a giant white duck on the side of the road. There are restrooms, a small parking lot, and a gift shop inside the duck with plenty of duck-themed souvenirs. The employee was knowledgeable about the history and shared interesting facts while we looked around. We snapped a few pictures and continued on our way. I wouldn't plan a trip just to see it, but if you're already headed that way, it's a fun stop for some silly photos and a chance to stretch your legs.

Visited for a holiday event. Lots of vendors selling a variety of items. From soaps, jewelry,…read morechocolate and Boy Scouts selling wreaths. They had most of the vendors inside the barn or whatever it was and it was pretty cramped. We had to squeeze past people a few times. We browsed around and walked outside. It is situated on lots of land. Walk down the path and you'll see a still in use come the Spring, an old time baseball field. Keep walking and there's a farm. The kids enjoyed seeing and petting the horse, and sheep. There were chickens too. I would like to return when we can learn more about the property and the various houses on it. When you're standing on the one path, you're set back away from Main Street and it feels like you're transported back in time. The 3 star review was based on the holiday event we went to after thanksgiving.

The amazing thing about this place is it is where Tesla worked and lived, right here on Long Island. The history surrounding this place is really awesome and if you do any kind of research on this brilliant inventor you will find that many things you thought were invented by other's were really ideas and inventions of his. I am so happy that the people working to renovate this historical site are so dedicated and passionate about spreading the word to the public. I hope the next event here is even better than this previous one and it just keeps getting bigger and better. If you live on Long Island and especially around the Shoreham area you really need to get involved and help spread the word about this amazing historical site right in our own back yard! Meditation Labyrinth Review 2 of 3…read more I never personally walked the labyrinth here, but have been down on two occasions to take pictures of it. It's located in the back of St. John's Episcopal Church, a late-eighteenth century chapel (1765) right on Montauk Highway. It has some interesting headstones in the yard too, but what you find in the back is a classical styled five-ring design outlined by shrubbery. There are some windchimes and cherub statuary surrounding it, and a bench for contemplation. Most recently, it was a bit neglected, but it is in a "garden", and I visited in the Fall. You may feel like your trespassing, and I'm not sure that you aren't. They offer the Holy Eucharist to locals, Sunday mornings at Ten.

I just finished reading a book about this event since I had already moved away from Long Island when it happened. This is such a beautiful Memorial and a beautiful location. I'm grateful that they made this so we don't forget. I do not understand the one star review and Inaccuracies with that one star review. Yes, this is very close to where the accident happened 2 miles. This is the closest land area to the plane crash and the actual site where a lot of the wreckage washed ashore so that review makes no sense. Also, keep in mind they need to have a spot for a memorial. A LOT OF investigative work was done very close by. ???? Would that person expect the memorial to be in the middle of the air or ocean? Smdh. A little confused on the other reviews parking comments. It was free to park when I went. I did go with a resident though.

When coming in there is a circle area with a few parking spots. This visit saw Fall scarecrows in front and some garden flowers neatly trimmed with signage noting deGrootDesignsInc. Walking to the other side one sees impressively how big and long the building(s) are. Coming in at the Main (see pix) there are librarians at the book desk who pleasantly directed us to follow the others and the signs to the Centerport Garden Clubs 2023 Flower show within. (see review). Through and around we found it near the circle entrance we had parked at. Entering was a cute cubical display of Witch paraphernalia along with a book of course titled Son of a Witch, a welcoming teddy bear by the Friends little book shop and a sign of special thanks, listing the local merchants who support them. Displays at and on the stage entrance had smooth clean floors and well taped down wires near the steps. In one of the back rooms was a hospitality room with tables chairs and snacks for those to share or purchase. I met Kate a lovely and helpful member of the flower club who shared how much combined work and effort was involved in the set ups and displays. This is a true example of "Many hands make light work" and also maybe not so light work, to see the polished efforts of how everything in the library was so nice. P.S. this included the bathroom for Women (see pix) which was clean and pleasantly decorated. It is worth the visit.
