I drove Dority's patient, Mike, who was in great pain with a broken tooth ache. His appt was at 2:45 and they said they couldn't do anything to help him until Tuesday, they gave him a prescription for 8 pain pills.. apparently they were controlled bc Publix said they couldn't fill them because of an "invalid DEA # " Poor Mike is ouit of his mind in pain. it sure would be nice to have doctos and dentists that cared enough to follow up on their patients.. especially those you know are in torment.

The receptionist quickly picked up and greeted me in a courteous manner. They were able to get me an appointment for the very next day with Dr. Carlos. Upon arrival the waiting area was clear of people, clean, and comfortable. There was one easy to read sign on the door explaining that they require face mask and they had sanitation stations throughout the practice. The receptionist greeted me in a welcoming and upbeat manner--she also took my temperature and asked me a sort list of qualifying COVID questions. I believe this practice has adapted well to business in a post-covid world and I think the reason the waiting area was so empty was an active effort to space appointment times to ensure social distancing. The medical staff called me back very quickly after my arrival and I didn't have mountains of cumbersome paper work they had taken care of everything. Dr. Carlos was great! He identified the problem with my tooth that required a filing and got to work right away. His Novocain injections were painless. My tooth was fixed in no time with no complications. Dr. Carlos worked very efficiently and put me at ease with his fun at ease style. At check out they already adjusted my insurance and I only had to pay $65. They also seamlessly scheduled my next cleaning right then and there. Thank you Dr. Carlos for fixing my hurt tooth and gums--I definitely recommend this practice.

In my experience, this office appears more focused on collecting money than providing quality care or transparent billing. This has happened to me twice now: I made payments at the time of service, only to be notified a year later of an outstanding balance--now inflated with late fees. In the first instance, the balance was communicated to my husband instead of me. Most recently, I had informed the office multiple times that I was no longer a patient. Despite updating my address, they failed to enter it correctly into their system. For over a year, they claimed to have sent me letters--none of which I received, presumably because they were returned to sender. They also claimed to have sent texts, which I never received. I only became aware of the issue after receiving an email. When I finally called, the representative I initially spoke to was helpful, but the office manager offered very little resolution--waiving only $90 of nearly $300 in fees. This feels unreasonable, especially given that I would have addressed the balance promptly had I been properly notified. Now, I am left dealing with this unnecessarily stressful situation while caring for a newborn. In addition to these billing concerns, I have spent significant money at this office--only for my current dentist to repair and correct multiple issues with their previous work. In my opinion, these are deeply concerning practices. I recommend seeking care from more transparent providers--such as Aspen Dental or other reputable offices.
