Consumer Warning: Poor Billing Practices and Communication I strongly advise seeking dental care elsewhere. In my experience, this office appears more focused on collecting money than providing quality care or transparent billing. This has happened to me twice now: I made payments at the time of service, only to be notified a year later of an outstanding balance--now inflated with late fees. In the first instance, the balance was communicated to my husband instead of me. Most recently, I had informed the office multiple times that I was no longer a patient. Despite updating my address, they failed to enter it correctly into their system. For over a year, they claimed to have sent me letters--none of which I received, presumably because they were returned to sender. They also claimed to have sent texts, which I never received. I only became aware of the issue after receiving an email. When I finally called, the representative I initially spoke to was helpful, but the office manager offered very little resolution--waiving only $90 of nearly $300 in fees. This feels unreasonable, especially given that I would have addressed the balance promptly had I been properly notified. Now, I am left dealing with this unnecessarily stressful situation while caring for a newborn. In addition to these billing concerns, I have spent significant money at this office--only for my current dentist to repair and correct multiple issues with their previous work. In my opinion, these are deeply concerning practices. I recommend seeking care from more transparent providers--such as Aspen Dental or other reputable offices. read more

Received a bill for over $1000 for services over a year ago that I thought was paid in full while paying $1207.00. No communication with their billing dept. Keep leaving messages with no response. Find a different dentist. All about the money. read more

It's unfortunate that all they care about is the money. We have great dental coverage insurance, but they messed up our bill. We had no idea that the claim was not covered by insurance. They called almost 2 years later and accused us of not paying. The office personnel were rude and terrible to work with on solving the matter and threatened collections over a late fee that they added because they messed up! I highly suggest you do not go to this dentist. If there are ANY issues with insurance, they'll simply bill you and don't want to work with your insurance provider. read more

I have been going to the Richmond Hill office for YEARS!! I received a bill for $128.00 then called and inquired why I received a bill for a preventative cleaning. They then told me that I didn't have insurance. I told them I absolutely do & called my provider then three ways the call to the dentist office so the can and did confirm I had coverage. I then waited for them to correct the issue & still they failed to do so. Today I called them back to once again inquire why & they now tell me my insurance is out of network. I then looked up the preferred providers in my network and guess what??? THEY ARE A PREFERRED PROVIDER!! They keep lying to me in an attempt to get me to pay a bill I should not have to pay!! I pay for insurance for a reason, those people are horrible as of late. I've had billing issues in the past but never to the point it wasn't corrected. I had hopes for a great experience. The new dentist is phenomenal. However, I have been trying to have an overpayment refunded since November and no one answers or there is an excuse. I have double checked and the insurance claim was filed and completed. Interestingly enough the bills show that they charge the insurance company as well as myself if a bill is paid late. They can expect to pay interest to me. Next stop is the Georgia Board of Dentistry. They have well over 3,000 of my personal funds that they have refused to return "because the claim isn't processed" well, it is and I have proof! read more

So much to write and obviously I'll try and be succinct- Bottom line up front- they are in it for the $, period. Pushy pushy pushy. Dental work is sub-par and appears to be done so as to " bring you back". I had a molar crown put on. It "failed". Not enough of the original tooth was left for it to attach to. Tried giving me a bunch of technical mumbo jumbo- but nothing made any sense. Tried charging me for both times I came back to "fix it". Two office charges plus... I claim faulty original work. I will update this review when I hear back from the billing department. I have not attend this clinic since 2020 & when I left my accounts were paid & in good standing. At that time Bruce was overseeing accounts & billings and he ensured me my accounts were all paid and in good standing. 3 years later I received a bill, not an itemized invoice on procedures or care completed by the clinic not paid by my insurance but just a bill saying a total amount due. I will update how this is resolved after I hear back from the billing department who you may only leave a voicemail and they check their voicemails every 48 hrs according to the recording. read more

Have been going to this office for 10 years with Dr. Miller with no problems. Since Dr. Miller retired, I've seen several other dentists in the practice. The office never notified me that one of them was not on my insurance. The billing department is deplorable -- it's been almost a year and they have not been able to get the billing correct. I do not recommend them. read more

The waiting room was nice and cool a welcomed reprieve from the GA heat. It was comfortable and after a 20minute wait we were taken back for cleaning. Mellissa worked with my 4 yo and had unbelievable patience. Even though he was timid she managed to get all of his teeth cleaned and got X-rays. Very impressed with experience. read more

These people are crooks and scam artists. I called ahead and asked if they accepted our insurance and were in network. They said yes they did. My insurance gives each of my family members and myself two free cleanings, a year and free x-rays once a year. we all went in and had x-rays and cleanings. We were billed $900 and now they're sending us to collections. I'm not paying the scumbags one red scent. Somebody needs to shut them down. I am filing a formal complaint with the insurance commissioners office. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! They gave me a quote for several procedures based on old insurance info, even though I provided them with my new insurance information on the day of my appointment. Additionally, I was charged an $18 "co-pay" when my insurance company verified that I didn't owe a co-pay. I've been waiting for someone to get back to me with a corrected quote and no one has done that. Today, Brandi, who claimed to be the owner, said that they couldn't verify my benefits but AMAZINGLY my insurance has already remitted payment for the services provided last week. She also stated that she called me and couldn't leave a message bc my vm wasn't set up. I've had this number for 15 years and I've never had an issue getting calls or messages. I'm filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner tomorrow. This is a joke. Don't waste your time with this practice. read more

On Saturday Oct. 5th my wife had a Dental Appt. The day before she had a pain attack from her back surgery and called the Dental office twice and left a voicemail to cancel the appt. for a cleaning that cost $157.00. They do not check voicemail and said she didn't notify them of cancellation and billed her $188.00. I have had issues with 2 broke teeth that I have called back and forth with them with no resolve. I left several voice mails with no response so I knew my wife was accurate in her accusations. I need several thousand dollars worth of Dental work that they don't acknowledge. We have used this office since the 80's and they have gone down hill. We will no longer use them but I wanted to make the BBB aware of their office practices. No problem with dentist, just operations. I have worked in the medical field over 40 years and do not condone a practice that charges more for a no show than the actual procedure. It is a license to steal. Especially when they were given ample notice. I will no longer be using their services. I will report this to insurance company, also. The small things do matter, like being honest, respectful, and doing what's right. Dr. Trout needs to take a hard look at how the back office, billing specifically, impacts their patients' satisfaction. Their tagline is patient-focused dentistry... because we care. But that has not been the case for my family. Without going into details, we have been patiently waiting for a refund of over $1,000 for months due to over-payments. Unfortunately, we are told to "check back in a week," with no one being accountable or responsible for following up. I see that others have experienced issues with billing, which is disappointing because the practitioners were professional. For now, I cannot recommend the Dental Wellness Center to anyone of my family or friends. Hello everyone! Sorry but I wouldn't even give 1 star for this Dental clinic. First of all their clinic manager and owner name Brandy Trout is extremely rude and unprofessional. I would definitely recommend everyone to not go to her clinic and if you do pkease check all your bills. She is literally ripping customers out on the bills. When asked for an explanation of the bill, she has no clue about it and keeps on have you wait. Even though she knows that she is ripping people off. I have Delta Dental insurance and it was covered when Dr. MILLER was at the clinic. And now since he has retired Trout family has decided to make fraud money on patients. Run. Take your business elsewhere. I had a crown placed and it broke in less than 2 years. They will not honor their warranties and will lie and hide information that proves they are in the wrong. At a routine cleaning there was a crack in the Crown and they hid that information from me as to not have to fix it. Weeks later the crown broke in pieces and they tried to say it was over 2 years since placement but I have dates proving it was under 2 years. They will also blame you for what you were eating at the time instead of acknowledging their subpar work and that it was already cracked weeks before. I had a broken tooth that the filing came out of and Dr Jackson refused to fix it. Told me that I had to have a crown. So fast forward I try to schedule the crown, and before they would even talk about scheduling it they had to have their huge balance owed of 45 dollars. Who cares that I have a broken tooth and need help. Give us our money then we will talk about maybe getting you scheduled. So hard to find people that care. Maybe the office manager will reach out and fix the staff there. Update: I reached out to the office manager today to discuss the issue. She was happy to not do anything and had no care that they were losing a client. They are trying to bill me for an appointment they claimed happened well over a year ago, but they failed to submit it to the insurance company, of course because its a fraudulent claim. No star at all to the clinic manager and she calls herself as an owner of the clinic. Brandy Trout is mean, rude and unprofessional. Back office staff is nice and knowledgeable however, due to the owner of this clinic we would not go back to this clinic again. We have been using this clinic for 3 years and in our last recent visit Brandy over changed us and when we ask for explanations, she was not providing proper information. We found out from our insurance company today that none of their current dentists are in network and the clinic was hiding that information from us after Dr. Miller has retired who was in network with our insurance. When I asked Brandy to better educate your patient before start charging them, she told me that I was being rude. She even got off her chair and was loud. Waiting room patients were listening the entire conversation. She should have bring us in separate room for HIPPA and patient privacy. She as a manager only cares for money, not patient care. I will tell my entire community and all my friends not to choose this place for their Dental services. She charged us more that out of pocket rate and as per our insurance that is illegal to do. read more

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide some feedback: 1. Dental Wellness Center should never have performed x-rays that were not covered by my insurance. I inquired about this explicitly before they were taken (as I always do) and was assured everything was covered. I was there for a cleaning and had no issues, so there was no reason to perform x-rays that were not covered under the wellness exam. Dental Wellness Center should be responsible for absorbing any amounts not covered when the patient has been informed that they are. 2. I never received the first statement you claim was mailed to me and most particularly did not appreciate the hardline collection tactic taken during your phone call to me in an attempt to collect payment on the spot, stating that my account was in arrears. This is not only bad business, but it's incredibly rude. Consumers who are conscious of their financial obligations are not inclined to do business with people who behave in this fashion. You do Dr. Trout a disservice. 3. Items 1 + 2 above = your loss of my business and that of my family members -- whom I intended to readily refer to Dr. Trout. read more

The dental hygienists are great but my complaint is against the billing department. My husband and I were not notified about a change in the dentist who we would be seeing in April of 2022. They are required to notify patients of a change in providers at least 14 days prior to appointment so we would of had time to see if the dentist was a preferred provider. We were not aware of the change until we were in the chair after our cleaning. Thus after years of our cleanings and check ups being covered by our insurance, the billing staff did not provide the adequate information to the dental insurance so we were billed an out of network charge. We were charged $125 each ($250 total) after our insurance company paid and discounts were applied for THEIR mistake which is ridiculous!! They grossly overcharge for services and the customer has to suffer for the billing department's mistakes. Rather than apologizing and writing off the visit, the billing department was rude, did not return phone calls, and only threatens to submit this to a collection agency after years of being a loyal compliant customer. RUN don't walk away from this dental office!! Other reviews obviously support my review!! The billing manager needs to be replaced by someone with customer service skills and a professional who takes responsibility for their incompetence or mistakes!! read more

I went to the Dental Wellness Center for the first time 2 weeks ago. They got me in quickly as I had a toothache. Everyone there is wonderful and friendly. I saw Dr Moran and she is very kind and compassionate. She determined that I needed antibiotics prior to my tooth being pulled and I returned later that week. Dr Moran made sure I had no pain and was quick to give me more novacaine when I flinched. It took over an hour and a half to remove the tooth and I was never in pain. She was very attentive to my comfort. I am very dental phobic but I love this office and will continue to go back. read more

Dr. Jackson looked at my broken tooth and suggested 1) refer to Oral Surgeon for extraction and immediate tooth implant or 2) she would extract tooth, build up with bone graph in case I want an implant in a few years. Two days later, she has no appointments available (knowing I needed my RA infusion on the following Mon. (After speaking with my RA doctor I was told there was no way I could have the infusion until the tooth was extracted and the area was healed completely. I called the Dr. Jackson's office and texted Veronica from the office from Mon to Wed morning trying to have the tooth extracted. On Wed Dr. Jackson wanted me to come in on Fri so she could review my tooth (after seeing it on Monday with X-rays). She proceeded to lie and tell everyone I wanted to keep the tooth! I was shocked. SHE said the tooth was split down the middle. Why would I keep it??? I broke a chunk of it off, and there wasn't enough tooth to use for a crown. I have the paper she wrote my options on which I snapped a pic of and sent to Veronica. She said she could see me Friday at 1pm but by no means did that suggest she would pull the tooth. I will never step foot into that office again. The only good thing that comes out of their office is the staff is very friendly and helpful. But Dr. Jackson? A very poor excuse of a professional. read more

I've been going to Dental Wellness Center in Richmond Hill for over 5 years now so this is a long overdue review! The ambience is pleasant, clean and welcoming. I don't usually enjoy doctor appointments but when this one comes up on my calendar, I do not mind the visit! I love my hygienist and dentist there - the hygienist Janna and Dr. Miller. They are both gentle (which is important to me as I'm sensitive), kind and honest. I recommend Janna and Dr. Miller to all of my friends and family. read more

All I can say is this place is great. The staff here is amazing they really take care of their patients. I had a crown place on a front tooth by Dr. Miller and he's great. They're very friendly and the place is very well kept nice and clean. I felt very comfortable being a patient and was very confident that they would get the job done correct. You'll also receive txt msgs & email reminders about your appointments. They even go the extra mile by giving you warm towels to wipe you face after you're finish. The dental assistants are very talkative and make your visit feel more personal. I would definitely recommend a friend or family member if they ever need dental work. read more
