It is obvious some patients love him, but I firmly believe that they saw him for strokes or some other type of care requiring a neurologist, not dementia diagnosis or care. We found him to be brusque in his manner of speaking to my husband. He reported he found reflexes intact and abdomen supple. He NEVER touched my husband! He told us, in from of another patient in his office reception area, "yes, you have dementia." During our time together he mentioned that he opened his office as a way to earn more money and stated that my husband's primary care doctor was smart since he opened an office long before and did not stay in just hospital care. We had to request additional testing to confirm an Alzheimer's diagnosis. I asked about support classes for families or caretakers. His response, "I don't know, google it." After two visits we decided this was not the doctor for us. We were lucky to find a very competent neurologist who specialized in dementia diagnosis and care. Wow, what a difference when you have a doctor who is compassionate and knowledgeable in his field. I repeat...DO NOT USE THIS GUY FOR DEMENTIA CARE.
