There's a good sized green area as well with a covered bench areas spread throughout. There's also a walking path with a small exercise machine area along the way. The parking here is not so great, but with Arnold Cypress back open around the corner it's become a bit better.

Parking is easy with a large lot right next to the lake, opposite of the lake are some hiking trails if you have more time. It's a nice loop going around with some different areas along the way such as a small creek, reeds near the shore, and some water works that looks like they have been turned off or no longer function. Even in Winter there are a lot of different birds around. My kids loved following and chasing the large pelicans in the lake. You can fish here and there are children's fishing competitions. Just keep in mind to have a permit because when we went there was a police officer checking and ticketing people.

There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. It provides a safe space and welcoming environment, while offering a sense of community for those in need. This year's turnout was amazing as individuals shared their personal experiences and spoke of the importance of PHA and how being a part of this association has changed their lives. Pulmonary Hypertension is a condition where the blood pressure in the arteries, which carries blood from the heart to the lungs becomes too high. The work this association has and continues to do is remarkable, which is why I will continue to be a supporter. If you know anyone with this disease, I would encourage you to share this association with them.

How have I not given our local park the Yelp treatment yet??!?…read more Lexington was the answer to Oak Knoll being outgrown, we are a city of recreation and competitive sports, and if you build it, we will use it to its fullest potential. Lexington is proof! This park, at its core, is two large sized football/soccer fields that can be divided up for smaller league kid games. One field is natural grass, the other a composite. The entire park is well lit because of the night games that are played there, which makes for an overall inviting and safe experience - and I never see the park empty, it's always in use. Surrounding the fields are a running track that circles the distance of the park, a large playground area, seating for the parents, oh, a large set of bleachers for the FNL and soccer games. A workout area in the back with a circuit style set of arm/leg machines. Pickleball and basketball courts, a general area with covered seating for picnics and gatherings, and a large parking lot area that, although large, can be found filled on busy days. Overall this is a good park and a great addition to our cities lineup. We come here often to do sports or use their other various facilities. :)

My only complaint is the playground is truly geared for older kids 2.5-3years + older. I feel with such a large project, the city of Cypress could have added a few other features to make it friendly for under 3yr olds - it's literally only 1 small slide for the littles - no steering wheel to drive, or any features to fidget with, or twist, turn, pull or other. I guess it was the last thing in their budget. All in all, it is a huge upgrade to the city of Cypress and we love walking here and that they have doggy bags for when our pupp finds a couple potty spots.
