Trust me when I tell you--look elsewhere…read more Over the past year, we've had a lot of work done on our home, including a new fence, replacement windows, a new solar system, and a new storm door. Every contractor we hired did outstanding work--except Mr. Handyman of Cherry Hill. We purchased a top-of-the-line Larson storm door and hired Mr. Handyman to install it, along with repairing a few sections of our gutters and soffit. Hiring this company turned out to be a huge mistake. The installer completed the work on April 30. During the first major storm on June 19, the entire storm door blew completely off the house and landed in our driveway. I gathered all the pieces and moved the door onto the porch. I contacted Mr. Handyman immediately. For nearly a month, I received nothing but delays while they claimed they were communicating with Larson. From the very beginning, I told them I believed the door had not been installed correctly. A properly installed storm door should not completely detach during a storm. During that waiting period, I contacted Larson myself to better understand what could have happened. I was told that a properly installed door should not simply blow off. They also explained that the installation should have used five mounting screws--three 3-inch gold screws and two 2-inch red screws. Those screws were nowhere to be found. Instead, I found what appeared to be shorter silver screws, some of which were broken off in the mounting holes. The brick molding around the doorway was still intact. After weeks of waiting, I finally received an email stating that Larson allegedly determined the door had been installed correctly based on a few photos I had submitted. I completely disagree with that conclusion based on what I found after the door came off. My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. Based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend them for this type of work. As I explained to Courtney S. and Meredith R., I had hoped we could resolve this without legal action. Since the company maintains that the installation was done correctly, I will pursue the matter through the courts and let the evidence speak for itself. They prepped and painted two rooms, including the baseboards, trim and ceiling. They replaced and painted a set of closet doors and replaced the rickety attic stairs. They also fix the bedroom door where it is now fully functional. The work took two days, but they transformed the two bedrooms. The crew was polite and professional. They worked quickly, quietly and with skill. I could not have asked for better. Mr. Grubb was very responsive to emails and quick to address all our concerns. Thank you for the good work.

We initially called in another plumber, and he and his boss felt very strongly that a hairline crack in the pan of our master shower was causing the issue. They came back with an estimate of $7,000 to redo the entire master shower (and vanity). What? We called Bommer Plumbing for a second opinion and boy, are we glad we did. Jim arrived right on time and he worked with my husband and me to troubleshoot the leak. He spent close to 90 minutes at our place. Long story short, the culprit of the leak was worn caulk along the top of of the master shower basin, NOT a hairline crack. We all cheered when the source was found! We saved thousands of dollars with this (accurate) diagnosis. And he even pointed out a potential issue with the electric source for our downstairs bathroom fan. Jim was knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and hilarious. We were cracking jokes like old buds. He was awesome! And office staff is super friendly. They keep you apprised of your plumber's whereabouts on the day of your appointment. They even send a picture of your plumber so you know what they look like ahead of time. This was a great touch and much appreciated, as you can never be too careful these days. I cannot recommend this company enough. Don't do what we did and call Bommer Plumbing second...call them FIRST.

Replace sink/garbage disposal. We bought the set at…read moreLowe's, were given the sizes that were required for the job based on our current sink/disposal size. They set up the 'Angies List' connection. On the first visit, the tech stated that a part was needed to do the job. He comes on 2nd visit, states that the garbage disposal is larger and we needed to get a smaller 1/2 size. No mention of the part he needed to buy which was assessed on the 1st visit. Now we have to return the product to Lowe's. Time wasted here and unfortunate/inconvenient that on the 'first visit', all of these 'potentials' were not reviewed, noticed or assessed prior so that that there would not be the need for a 3rd visit/prolonging the installation. An uncomfortable feeling looms in the air. This is was the experience, my fair observation and review. First time contacting this contractor. This was the service Lowe's initially provided/recommended.
