Could have been a introduction to a TIMESHARE SALES PITCH or to sell a USED CAR. I've been to Aspen Dental locations in Champaign, IL and North Augusta, SC, and the experience at both was the same: the focus is clearly on upselling, not patient care. In Champaign, the hygienist began pushing products and treatments, Waterpiks, electric toothbrushes, and four crowns -- before the dentist even had a chance to evaluate anything. Midway through the exam, I was pulled out of the chair and sent to the back office to "go over options" -- it felt less like healthcare and more like a timeshare presentation or used car negotiation. I was handed a bottle of mouthwash and later found I'd been charged for it, unsure of what in the world. In South Carolina, they filed the insurance wrong, leading to rejected claims and over $200 out of my pocket just to get them to stop billing me. I work in patient care myself, and I believe in putting patients first -- something Aspen Dental clearly struggles with. If you want a provider who values trust and transparency over sales, look elsewhere. Or better yet ASPEN DENTAL; ask me to head up your sales department where we make things a lot easier for people. You clearly need a makeover to understand patient care and putting the patient front and center.
