Stopped in here last week for a quick snack. Grabbed a Beef Empanada and was blown away by how delicious it was. I said to myself that I'd have to return soon for lunch or dinner. Today I stopped in for lunch and grabbed the Pernil with rice platter! EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT and DELICIOUS. Easily the BEST Spanish restaurant in the Lehigh Valley! Truly a great place. Oh and the 6FT Pernil sandwich the owner had out for his customers on Xmas Eve was DELICIOUS. although not on the paper menu yet, the sandwiches are available per request! The drive from South Side Allentown (Lehigh Street) was well worth it for me. Ate here this evening with my husband for the first time. Owner William introduced himself to us, and the food was excellent. My husband had the shrimp and rice dish, I had the excellent roast pork and we shared some of the small appetizers. I have enough leftovers for dinner tomorrow. Wonderful neighborhood restaurant owned by a nice family. Plus a free piece of flan in that we were there for the first time. We will return! read more

While visiting family in Bethlehem, PA I searched for Puerto Rican restaurants. I was intrigued by the positive reviews William's Spanish Restaurant received. It is a small restaurant with a homey feeling. The owner greeted us, sat with us, converse a bit. So far so good. First round - alcapurria....oh so YUM, not greasy at all. Deliciousness - made to perfection. Next, the entree- Mofongo with shrimp in a creole sauce. It was hands down the BEST mofongo I've had. It wasnt dry or bland. It was moist and flavorful and they were generous with the shrimp. The portions were plentiful and the price was a bang for your buck. I will be returning soon to try some other Puerto Rican goodness. Thank you, William. You definitely did not disappoint us! Went to check-out this place at the suggestion of a fellow foodie. It's clean, well-lit and the staff is super nice. Shout out to the Owner, William (of course that's his name). Anyway I got the shrimp Mofongo and it was amazing!!!! Better than I expected. 1 order of the shrimp Mofongo = $13. The portion was large. I look forward to going back. read more

We were in town for a wedding and found this little gem. This was the best pernil we've ever had!! Rice was also great. Service was excellent. The flan had a slight hint of cinnamon and was very delicious. We should have asked how ripe the maduros were, because they were not great, but the pernil and rice made up for it. read more

They say it's harder to get that old home feel once you leave NY.. But today it seemed like I was home again.. Enjoying that good food that I hadn't enjoyed in a long time.. Will, the owner of the restaurant was there to greet my family and I with a smile and an array of food choices that we didn't know where to begin.. Everything down to the empanada was DELICIOUS! Oh.. That chicken!! Wow!! Everything was clean and everyone greeted you with a smile.. I've traveled a lot and seen many lands and tried many foods and this place is the affirmation that the small "mom and pop" establishments are the keystones of the authentic food business.. We found this restaurant on yelp when two of our other favorites were booked. The food was authentic and delicious. The owner greater us and explained the menu. Our server was friendly and helpful. Most of all the food was delicious, fresh and big portions. I took half home. The restaurant is not fancy so don't expect that but do expect friendly service and an interesting and tasty meal. read more

Don't know if they are the original owners I don't think so... I can tell you from my experience they were pretty damn good but now.... we bought a soup de pollo with white rice and rice with bistec but mines was ok not bad.. but my wife's soup was starting to go bad it had a slight sour smell and a tart flavor she couldn't eat it.. just about rancid .. we called and politely addressed the issue and the were kind enough to offer us something else.. but we declined, just saying not bashing the restaurant they do have decent food but they should check or taste stuff once in a while to prevent any further issues.. unfortunately this has been an issue with the soup before, we have decided to quit buying Spanish food all together and just make it ourselves as far as eating out we'll stick to bistros on weekends so anyone reading this post it was my experience doesn't reflect at all on any other issues if any so I don't discourage anyone from going there..just taste it before you get home if you're getting soup other than that place is ok read more

Awesome simple and delicious Puerto Rican food. Opened at the old d'williams restaurant (that one was Dominican. Just a coincidence of name as the owner's name is William). Great and gracious host with delightful food. I got the mufongo con camarones - superbly done with fresh jumbo shrimp in a garlicky sauce. empanadas, flan and tres leches cake. William left his NYC govt job of 20 years to open this place. food is amazing. Please go try it. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. First, the food--it is authentic and amazing. We were looking at the food/menu and they were super nice in explaining what everything was. We had the pollo guisado (chicken stew) and the costilla guisada (rib stew) with arroz con gandules (yellow rice with pigeon peas) and a side order of maduros (sweet plantains). The flavor of everything was amazing. The meats were all super tender, the arroz was perfect. The maduros were sweet and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our meal very much. We also took home some flan and tres leches cake and both were outstanding. Like stellar. I could eat that cake for days. I've eaten Spanish food (Puerto Rican recipes) over the years, and this was one of the best places I've eaten. The owner (William, hence the name) was so very welcoming and friendly, introduced us to his family, chatted with us. He and his family were that nice to everyone that came in while we were there. It was a really lovely dinner and great experience and introduction to the town of Bethlehem for us. He said he's been open for about 18 months, and we wish him and his family much success with this restaurant. If you want a taste of Spanish home cooking, or even if you've never ever tried Spanish food before, I urge you to go try this place. We stopped by for dinner to give it a try. I would say it is modest and minimal and the food is from the heart and reasonably priced. Both owners, husband and wife, stopped by to say hello and ask about the food. These are hard working people and their daughter was serving and cleaning tables to pitch in. We should all support small businesses especially when they care so much and care about the people who patron their establishment.
