Went on a Friday night around 7pm the dj was playing some good music not to loud so your able to hear someone speak but loud enough for you to get your dance on! Now let's talk drinks baby I had a strawberry margarita and my mom had a pomegranate margarita and hunny these drinks were BIG!!!!! Lol I order the Tri Fongo El Chapiador it has lobster ,shrimp ,calamari and crab meat. Oh and the service was amazing!! Joa is such a lovely person I couldn't have asked for a better server . I understand it was mother day the wait for a table didn't bother me the young lady at the door was amazin. But after getting my table everything going wrong the waitress didn't give us the menu after 30 minutes I ask her for it our drink took 45 to get and after we order 1:55 after and didn't even get the food I ask for about our food she didn't now anything she was lost my son ask for pinchos and macaroni and cheese they bring tostones and then say sorry wrong table 2:10 I ask for the ticket because I was not going to wait more for the food. I believe that if a waitress you should have a little book to write the order and not try to remember it. And always check on your tables instead of worrying about the people at the bar. read more

The worst service I've ever experienced... The bartenders ignore you and you can't even hear when you ask for a drink because the music is too loud. I was sitting at the bar the whole time waiting for a drink. Poor leadership. read more

I had the most delicious meal here! They serve authentic Latin cuisine with all of the flavor and flare it requires. I had a Mofongo with bistec and it was DELICIOUS!! My family had the chicharrones de pollo, the pernil, the fish and the shrimp and every single item was consistently amazing. The drink were tasty and enjoyable and the service was top notch!!! This is by far the best restaurant of its kind. The authenticity of the food was on point! My wife and I enjoyed several of the appetizers on the menu, along with the entrees. We couldn't decide what to order because of all the great choices. The bartender (Trinidad) makes the best Mojito you'll ever have (and i'm a drink snob). Is worth the drive in to the city. Came to visit during the week day. It was very quiet, as not a lot of patrons were in the restaurant. Good for me! The bartender made a special drink with mint. (My apologies, but the drink didn't have a name yet) But It was delicious! The music started to play and I thought I was back in Costa Rica. Nonetheless, I wanted to try something different. I specifically mentioned I only ate seafood. The bartender offered a seafood dish with mashed plantains. I was sold! The food came out in rapid speed. As I was enjoying my meal, the bartender came to check on me. He then proceeded to mention that the mashed plantations contained pork. I finished the seafood, but didn't bother with the plantains, as I don't eat pork. Hence the one star deduction. Even so, I would return to try a strictly seafood dish. read more

The food and drinks were amazing. The service was not good. I went with a group of 5 women & it took over 30 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. It was not busy. It was about 2pm and we sat in the outside area. When one of my friends got up & asked about the waitress, we found out she was standing at the table next to us smoking hookah the whole time. read more

Food was probably 4/5. Service was just turrible (Charles Barkley voice). We ordered fried squid, and were given the skewers. We let the waiter know, then she brought out fried calamari. We ended up just eating them and never got fried squid. On top of this, the waiter got 4 of the 6 drinks right. However, everything did have great flavor. It's a shame the service was so bad, even just a little better service and I would've left at least a four star. The restaurant was well decorated. Very clean. Good lighting. I don't know if I would recommend this place to anyone as the service was unacceptable. read more

Honestly I expected much better food reading the reviews but that was not the case. I love Mofongo - but not from the freezer. The 3 leches was one of the worst I ever ate. Not fresh at all. For the price and quality you can find much better places. Service was friendly - but if the food is not good no point to go there. This review gave me a lot of trouble. Let's start with the positive side of things, starting with when I first walked in. The ambiance of the bistro is great... the music is not too loud, and appropriate. I can't stand when a restaurant has music that doesnt go with the atmosphere, but they got it right. The lights are soft and the decor is nicely done. I completely forgot that I was in Allentown. Next up, the menu and food. I love the menu, great options, but not overwhelming. Simple and straightforward. When I got my appetizer I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. The flavor was great! My steak entree was also cooked perfectly and the flavor was exactly on point. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Even the manager came out to greet the tables and see how things were. Now, a bit of what was underwhelming. The location. I am not in love with the location of this beautiful place to eat. The dessert. I am still thinking about the flan I had, trying to decide if I liked it or not. Flan is not a simple dessert to make and when it is done perfectly it is amazing. Trying to improve on it is tough so I give credit to Sarandonga for their creativity. However I think it only works if the central element is done right, and the flan itself was not done perfectly. The tres leches cake looked AMAZING! But the cake was too dense and did not soak as it should have. Lastly, the price. I felt the entrees were a bit overpriced. Overall it was a good experience and I definitely will come again.
