Not packed, but well attended. Service really made the night. Angel took great care of us and didn't just check in, he actually spent time with us, talked through things, and made the whole experience feel personal. The general manager (we believe his name was) Kevin came over as well and was just as engaged, calm, and genuinely open. Food-wise, the beef and chorizo meatballs were insane. Easily one of the best things we had all weekend. The steak skewers with mashed potatoes were also excellent. Great flavor, cooked right, and the presentation was really nice. We also tried the meat paella and it didn't hit the same. The meat was overcooked and the balance felt off. We shared that honestly, and both Angel and Kevin handled it incredibly well. Tapas on Main is a tapas bar and restaurant that opened in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in May 2011. It was founded by restaurateurs and business partners Juan Carlos Paredes and chef Rafael Palomina. Both hailing from Bogota, Colombia, the two partners own a number of restaurants both separately and together. With Tapas on Main, they brought authentic Spanish-inspired dishes to downtown Bethlehem. In February 2015, when the unit next door became available, the partners opened a French-style bistro dubbed Cachette Bistro + Creperie. With both eateries adjacent to each other, they can share the same kitchen and liquor license; it makes for easy management. Palomina serves as the executive chef for both establishments, while Luis Abundez serves as the chef de cuisine. My family and I visited Tapas on Main and Cachette Bistro + Creperie this past summer while we were visiting relatives in the area. We stopped by while exploring Main Street and it looked like a cool place to get brunch. Sit on either side because it doesn't matter at all. Not much atmosphere but it's certainly not a fast food spot. I've never seen more than three tables occupied for lunch. They do take reservations! Absolutely nothing remarkable about the food. Get the "ensalada pollo" for a salad and you'll get some greens, doused in dressing, onions, some cherry tomatoes and tough chicken. It was fine. The establishment has a good vibe and isn't too loud so you can enjoy a dinner conversation. My girlfriend and I could tell that someone must have called out because the wait staff seemed to be rushing everywhere. However, our server, Devin, was extremely helpful with drinks and dishes and took great care of us. The specialty cocktails were perfect and I highly recommend the gin-based El Toro. We were disappointed that the margarita flight isn't offered on weekends. We ordered several small plates, which great portions. Although we enjoyed the food, especially the salmon tartare, spinach and gouda, loaded pierogies, and octopus, the eggplant meatballs were like wet breading. I've always had good service here but a party of two will walk out at $100-$120 and wonder how you spent it. A tapas evening. Across the street from our hotel. We were seated at a high top in the bar. A cozy and tight table for two. Not my favorite spot. Started with sushi salmon tartare which was excellent. It came a few minutes after we ordered it and was quite good. Our server started off fine then service went downhill. An order of red, house sangria was put in. It was very good. Ambiance is basic pub. Nothing Spanish about the place. Tapas are typically served in rapid fire, small plate after small plate. That did not happen here. After the salmon our server was invisible and after inquiring about the shrimp, it was 20 mins before we got the shrimp and it came with the pork belly and octopus at the same time. Not good. The salmon tartare was the only memorable dish. The garlic shrimp had no garlic. The pork belly was dry. We made a reservation the day of with no problem and were seated promptly upon arrival. Burrata: 3/5 you can't really mess up a Burrata dish but the dish was lacking flavor. It literally tasted like they just three raw tomato and olives together, cut up some bread and added Burrata in the middle hoping that the Burrata would carry the dish. French fries: 4/5 if they sprinkled some salt on these fries it would prob add more dimension to the dish Paella: 2/5 this dish was lacking flavor so the price was not justified in my opinion. The clams and mussels had no flavor and tasted like they were boiled in plain water. The rice was plain despite being mixed in with other plain tasting seafood. It looked amazing presentation 10/10 but the flavor was not there Pork belly: 2/5 the picture may be too dark to tell but the pork belly was so dry because it was over cooked. My wife and I stopped by on a whim the other night and ended up having one of the best evenings we've had in a long time thanks to our bartender. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel right at home with his warm energy and quick sense of humor. He had us laughing within minutes, and it felt less like we were just grabbing drinks and more like we were catching up with an old friend. On top of being such a fun and engaging presence, Wesley is an incredible bartender. Every cocktail he made for us was spot on flavorful, and crafted with so much care. We have gone to this restaurant for years & the service has deteriorated over that time. On December 29, 2025, we went for mid-afternoon meal around 2:30. The restaurant was not crowded. Despite that fact, we waited almost 20 minutes before a server even came to our table. By that time, we were so annoyed that we decided to leave & go to another one of Bethlehem's good restaurants. The restaurant has a large indoor seating area, as well as a few outdoor tables. The bar is long and the restaurant has very nice decor..... especially the lighted walls. We sat at the high stool area, across from the bar, and it was perfect. The volume of the music that was playing (Gypsy Kings, Marc Anthony, Spanish instrumental) was at an optimal volume and appreciated. We started with red sangria. They were served in mason jars, had plenty of fruit, and were VERY STRONG..... wow. Our Beef Albondigas(Meatballs) appetizer was delicious. The ramesco sauce, almonds, and manchego cheese made this a great choice. We shared the Grilled Salmon and it was flavorful. First time visit and very disappointed. We ordered the patatas bravas, the octopus and the flatbread and only the flatbread was decent while the other two dishes were well below average. The octopus which was tough and chewy was served atop a mound of whipped potatoes engulfed with a brown sauces. Just think of 3 tentacles on a deserted island and you'll have full grasp of the picture. The patatas bravas were basically served in a soup like broth in contravention of the standard roast style and any sense of good taste. Located in Bethlehem, Pa at 500 Main St. Tapas is a Spanish themed restaurant. It has some very interesting dishes. A few I and the wife had were a salmon based crepe with spinach and Gruyère crepe called "The Pacific" and a Cuban sandwich based crepe called "The Cubano" Both were delicious. The flavors blended well with the perfectly made crepes. It's fairly small. Cozy atmosphere. The wait staff is young, polite and reasonably attentive. I wasn't there when it was busy though (Tuesday afternoon). I'll have to come back on a Friday night and see how it works. It's reasonably priced by todays standards. The crepes were about $30. With tax and tip $40. With only one visit I can tell you I'll be back for a second. This seems quite a find. If you're in the area I'd suggest giving it a try. read more

First time here last week and we really enjoyed the experience. They had very unique flavors of Sangria which we loved. We ordered a bunch of tapas to share and our favorite by far was the garlic shrimp, we finished almost all the sauce with dipping bread. We loved the crispy calamari and also got the fries and croquettes. We were confused when the bread basket had a croissant tho as we expected savory breads at dinner time. It was just a comical evening, as the waitress was either inexperienced or intellectually challenged. she asked what kind of water we preferred and gave us three options so we chose still thinking it was tapwater and she came out with a bottle of springwater which she charged us $7. The fix restaurant week menu clearly says add ice cream for two extra dollars for dessert, but for the entrée said add shrimp, chicken or vegetable with no dollar amount. My partner and I visited Tapas on Main on Sunday night. Having visited Mister Lees the night before, we were so excited to try more delicious restaurants in such a cute town. When we got to Tapas on Main, the atmosphere was cute and welcoming, surely we thought we'd have delicious tapas to get us ready for our trip to Spain next month. We ordered the olives, the octopus and the burrata. Where do I start; the octopus came out diced up, mixed with chorizo & on a bed of mashed potatoes (?) it smelled like dog food and kinda tasted like it too. The octopus was so overcooked I couldnt figure out which I was biting into next, the chorizo or octopus. Ok so then we tried the burrata, which came with 4 incredibly dry crostinis that crumbled into dust during each bite. Not to mention the burrata was so old it had basically turned into mozzarella... they skimped out on balsamic which would've been my best attempt at reviving old burrata if I were a chef but then again, if I were a chef I wouldn't have served that disaster. Lastly the olives were fine, overly salted and definitely came out of can but whatever. Our drinks were made from premixes and after all that I had ended up spending $90 for the tab and was still hungry. We then went to Urbano hoping for a better meal. They brought out chips that were delicious and we were in higher spirits after our doing tapa experience. We then ordered chicken tacos, they came out and the dish again looked like dog food. My bf mentioned that this restaurant HAD to be owned by the same restaurant group which we came to find out that we were in fact correct. The tacos weren't even mildly authentic and for some reasons were soaked in bbq sauce..... I don't think i've ever in my life had a chicken taco covered in bbq sauce. I'm so disappointed with this experience & would be embarrassed to be serving that quality of food for the prices that were charged. I truly have never felt the need to write a review about any restaurant but these two places need to make efforts to improve their quality & I don't want others to be as disappointed as we were. Have been to Tapas on Main a few times but first time dining outdoors on Main Street. Another great experience. Our server (Steve) was a really nice young man and attentive. We had a cocktail (My wife had the Pumpkin Sangria which I sipped and it was very good. Nice standard pour on my bourbon as well. We shared some small plates including the mussels with chorizo and fries, pork and chorizo meatballs and sautéed mushrooms. I did ask Steve for some extra bread for dipping into the mussel broth. He could have turned our table quicker with a touch faster service, but we weren't in a hurry so it was fine The sangria was amazing and a nice serving size. We started with the charcuterie trays. They tasted fabulous but were alone of bread and less cheese or bread. You could get a combination of three meats or cheeses. We got 3 meats on a tray and three cheeses on a tray. The accompanying jelly was a nice touch. Probably the best blue cheese I've ever eaten but a little went a long way. The cheddar was lacking the sharpness of cheddar. The scallop dish was out favorite. Those mashed potatoes - I could have eaten an entire bowl. The perfect whip, seasoned well and the sauce took them over the top. I huge scallop topped them. The ambiance and smells were so good when we walked in, which unfortunately made the food and service even more of a letdown. I ended up getting the pork chops, based on my server's recommendation, but they were a bit overcooked and not very interesting. My party tried a few different menu items including one of the crepes, but everyone said that the food was completely underwhelming.
