Dr. Barrett received my dog who basically was in the process of passing. She brought her back to life. I've had great experiences with all of the doctors. I love that it's walk-in however, expect to wait. It is in the order you arrive unless it's a true emergency. I never mind waiting because of the overall experience they provide. They have a great check in system. You can choose to wait in your car and be notified via text when it's your turn. read more

I love this place and their dedication to the well being of our pets. We are so lucky to live in a city where a veterinary clinic like this can be available to the community at large. The doctors are highly skilled, open and collaborative. The staff are friendly and caring on the phone, in the waiting room, at check out, during the visit, and in the pharmacy. They saved my Goldendoodle many years ago when he was attacked by another dog and had a life threatening injury to his jugular vein. I now have a cat with anemia, which has been challenging to diagnose and requires frequent visits and coordination with specialists. Our friend Tex who we enjoyed as our pet for about 11 years became sick with very unpleasant symptoms. Dr. Shaun Reynolds treated Tex in a gentle , caring manner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He made suggestions as to treatment but left the decision as to how to proceed with my wife and me[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . We trusted his judgement and left Tex overnight for meds and observation. Tex did not present much improvement so the doctor recommended we take him home and continue some meds to see if being in our home would help him. Sadly Tex continued to get worse, not any better and based on the tests as to his kidneys deteriorating condition, we made the hard decision to have him transitioned. We did not want him to suffer anymore. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Reynolds explained the process and told us how sorry he was but applauded our courage to stop Tex's pain and then left us with our boy to say goodbye[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Yesterday was really hard day for my husband and I. We lost our Avie girl (9yo Boston Terrier) in May 2020. She was perfectly fine and healthy and one night she seemed to have a little weird congestion but everything (pee/poop/eat/drink/energy) was normal, so I wasn't concerned. The next day she passed away, and it was traumatic to say the least. So, we just got a baby boston on Thursday of last week (we have had her 6 days). We haven't even been taking her outside b/c she's so little and her face is so smooooshed and the breeder said pneumonia is possible and to refrain from outside for another 4 weeks if possible. So yesterday mid afternoon baby started a honking/breathing and we were terrified. I wanted to find a vet that we could go in with her. I really didn't want to be separated. Thank goodness we found this as an option. It's first come first serve and also so grateful they weren't too busy, we waited in our car maybe 20 mins maybe less before we were able to be seen. We saw Dr. Barrett and so thankful for her! She was knowledgable, caring, calming, direct, and patient with me (I'm the worst patient b/c I work in the medical field) lol. Our new baby just had an upper respiratory infection, and she's brachycephalic. We have had 2 doses of antibiotics and can tell she's feeling SO MUCH BETTER. WE ARE THANKFUL! Thank you Dr. Barrett!! I came here with the same answers from her. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called 12/16/24 to speak with a tech or doctor about maybe taking a vitamin or some sort of supplement for her long hair. Instead she was very rude stating i HAVE to come in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the last 7 times genuinely 7 times for this reoc issue has still no answer. I wanted to see if there is a medication for her long hair to help her belly. I don't understand how there would be a hostile answer to me just trying to find a solution to her problem. Instewd she was very rude. Not everyone is in a situation to spend 500 dollars on labs every few months. Average. The devil is in the details. I brought my dog here 18 years ago and her end of life care was exceptional. The staff could not have been more caring. Fast forward to now . . . if you go to After Hours Care, they greet you through an intercom with something like, "Yes?" I don't remember the exacting wording but in my mind it translated to "What do you want?" I would much prefer 'Can I help you?' or 'Are you here for after hours care?' When I'm about to pay premium prices for vet care, a nicer greeting would go a long way. For procedure drop off, it's a cattle call at 7:30 a.m. Drop off is between 7:30 and 9:00 but a lot of people arrive at 7:30 - and there's no way to establish who came when (no number system) so you could arrive 2nd and get checked in 5th. Each time you arrive, they have you fill out the same green form with your name, address, pet's name . . . . I realize a lot of pets have the same name, but it would be nice to be treated like an established vet patient at some point. The wait times can be really long. Not having to schedule an appointment is part of what drew me back to WCAH even though I now live further away, but the wait times are never short when I try to go (I work M-F). I called to see if by any chance they schedule the service I need today (it's a follow up). I was told the service is completed by a tech, so hopefully I won't have as long of a wait as I would for a veterinarian. They don't schedule anything, so know that you will be in the queue every.single.time. I've felt limited in my ability to change vet practices because they have my pet's records and her history has gotten a little complicated in recent years, but I'm thinking it's time to move on. read more

I cannot praise this place enough! I had to bring my baby in to be put down and they were so compassionate. I had a very rough morning and was a hot mess but everyone from the receptionist to the tech to the vet were all so patient and caring. I'm sure they deal with crying hot messes all the time but none of them seemed fake, it all felt so genuine. The actual vet throughly explained everything and took his time. He said such nice things to me. Although at the time I wasn't appreciative and didn't thank him like a I should have, now I'm sitting here remembering what he said. I am so grateful for this place! I have been many times and always had the highest level of care with the most reasonable prices. We've seen different doctors, all of which seem to genuinely care about my dog. They recently nursed him back to health, after being mistreated and misdiagnosed at another emergency vet care facility. They were patient with all my questions and even when I called back after being discharged. There can be a long wait, but it's always worth it for the level of care here. I had to take my cat here for an emergency. I had never been and they were extremely professional, empathetic and thorough. When I first brought my cat in, they checked her to make sure she would be OK to wait in the lobby. I saw them do this with every animal that came in to make sure they didn't need immediate attention. Even with the wait time, it was manageable, and they gave my cat the proper care that it needed. I'm afraid today is our last visit here after almost ten years. The wait time is unbearable and nothing is done to improve throughput. EVERY year we come in to get the SAME injections and EVERY year we wait approximately 45-min to get to the back exam rooms only to be informed that now after waiting all that time the medications have to be mixed up and then we have to wait 30-min before they can be administered. I've offered up the suggestion of communication via the handy headsets most techs seem to wear along with the office staff which would allow the heads up as to when patients requiring these medications are waiting out front. Come on now... Don't get me wrong, knowledgeable staff, yada, yada, but be prepared for a LONG wait. read more

Terrible service ! Only 2 vets I would trust here. Their 'policies ' serve them not their customers/clients! They are sneaky about adding services without asking ! They once refused an elderly meds for her elderly dog bc she had a $20 balance from last time - I paid the balance and meds bc no one should be denied care over $20 .... When I had a family pet euthanized here they started the process as we were crying the front sm desk came in to collect payment ! We said we are not done here , she argued well we can just do it now , my elderly mom cried and screamed for her to please leave us alone ! Disgusting ! read more

I love the first come, first served model of this veternarian office. If my pets need to be seen, it is very hard these days for me to get them in to see our regular vet in a reasonable amount of time. Most recently, I rescued a kitten from under a dumpster and immediately took him to this office. They were efficient and friendly. They examined the kitten, did tests, and provided me with antibiotics within an hour or so. In addition, my bill was very reasonable. It is comforting to know there is a place nearby where I can take my pets (or rescues) without an appointment, and they will be seen that exact day. read more

Had taken my cat in, not realizing after 5pm was considered "urgent care", so basically got charged twice as much than I would have had I arrived there an hour before. Supposed to get a callback with lab results within 10 mins, but never did. I called the following morning, and was told a tech would call me back, and still nothing! Really wouldnt feel comfortable taking any of my pets there again after a total lack of communication. read more
