Excellent vet care! My dog had gone missing and returned with injuries. We visited Premier (for the first time) for follow-up after having gone to an emergency vet. They picked right up where the emergency vet left off and didn't skip a beat. They did lab work, gave her a thorough once over and assessed her injuries. They addressed all my concerns about my pup not eating, drinking, possible PTSD, etc...Just as importantly, my dog had been through a very traumatic experience and they took that into account every step of the way. They did everything they needed to do without adding any undue stress in the process. Their charges were quite reasonable, as well. I will definitely make them my go-to vet! This response to the review is just as aggressive as the last couple of visits. It's beautiful that you took the time to respond- unfortunately the accuracy is very questionable. While you say that it is the customers choice where to send prescriptions- you also know that most online scripts need to be verified by the prescribing office. When my pharmacy of choice tried to verify your script it was denied. When I called to inquire I was told that I was to mail it in to a particular pharmacy, as though there was no alternative. As far as the $35 visit- that was a follow up. No office visit has ever been priced so low at this clinic. I certainly understand that emergencies happen at walk in clinics. The 45 min wait was when your staff actually said "oh I'm sorry we kinda forgot about you". I have never once complained. Sad the aggressive stance taken when you are questioned. Please use feedback as a way to grow and educate your staff not to continue with the same combative behavior. read more

I've used this vet for YEARS, and just noticed in 2020 I gave them 3 stars for not answering the phones. Well, n longer will promote or support this facility. First with two dogs, now 3. My 2 year old corgi had thrown up 6 times within an hour, so I called the vet at 4:08 pm and after being rather loud with the girl that just answers the phone- she told me they were booked and it'd been nearly a year since they'd seen my corgi, they'd need to book an appt for her possibly for the next day. I'm generally not an upset or rude person, but today I was just that person. First. I take my dogs to get their shots annually, well puppy care (that spans over multiple visits), heart preventive shots that now also can't be done in the same annual shots visit and my corgi had visited and received her shots 10/2024. The girl that answered the phone, and is only doing what she's told, wanted to schedule the visit next day. I demanded to talk with a vet..I got Melissa.. she didn't identify herself as the vet, and only half listened. Melissa had ZERO empathy for my sick corgi and told me to take her to the UC, if I thought it was urgent. Clearly I'm calling my vet because I feel it's urgent. They don't see urgent visits when they're booked... so she tells me. Again, ZERO concern or solutions.... was she a vet- probably not. The vet and tech both were very compassionate and loving towards our baby we haven't been able to find a good vet in the area and wish we would have found them sooner maybe we could have had more time with our baby! Charged me over 3,000 only to send me home with a dog that died 10 mins later, I was told she was fine come get her then later was told she wasn't fine and then get a letter from them saying I can never use them again because I wanted answers! First time customer: called to make an appointment lady said she would call me back about said appointment but never did. called the next day scheduled an appointmen- showed up today and they lost my appointment finally got in to see dr. vet tech came in and I explained why we were there and told them that my daughter's dog could maybe have a liver issue. Vet tech went into the back right beside the door and told everyone in the back that I didn't even know if my dog had a liver issue. We used to take our 2 dogs to Premier and always had to see a different vet, so when they passed, I posted on HIPSmyrna to ask about a new vet for a more personal experience for our 2 new dogs. We tried a couple but didn't love them so we decided to go back to Premier. When I called to make an appointment, I was told they would no longer serve me because I had talked about them online. I had heard thing about Premier's owner in the past and never gave it a second thought, but I see now they were all justified. Our 8 week old puppy, Mochi, was born with a hereditary heart problem and needed a PDA litigation surgery or his life expectancy would be short and painful. Unfortunately, these surgeries cost thousands of dollars through a veterinarian cardiologist, which we could not afford. We are SO thankful to have found Premiere Vetcare! The entire staff from the front to back was excellent. There were no hidden or surprise cost and Dr. Hatcher was honest about the potential risk. We were able to have Mochi's surgery done at a mere fraction of the cost. Thankfully, Mochi's surgery was successful. Dr Hatcher even brought him to his own home to personally monitor him that night. The staff communicatied with me throughout the entire process and even sent me update texts and pictures. This entire team works with excellence and compassion. We cannot thank them enough. I just love the care I get from Premier Vetcare! From the time I walk in the door to the time I leave, I feel like I got a well trained professional staff. Smyrna needed Premier Vetcare, and I should know as I worked at a veterinary hospital and I don't take any of my animals there. They are christian based and the tenderness they show and compassion is hard to find at other vets. I'm sorry some have or had a bad experience, but in my eyes, they are angles with wings on the back of their shirts. In closing, I had to have one of our dogs put down and instead of going into a room with a cold metal table, they took me into a living room like setting with a couch. We are looking forward to continuing the great care for our newest 4-legged family members. I took my Morkipoo in (as a walk in) today at Premier Vetcare. My dogs have been patients at Premier for several years however I had switched to a different vet the last few years. There was no one in the waiting room when I arrived. Got checked in and a vet tech came out and asked what was wrong and explained what they might do and the cost. Five minutes later the vet tech brought my dog out and said she was to tense to do an X-ray. She said the vet said she had some inflammation, to keep my dog immobile for about ten days and gave me a prescription for Vetprofin. She said if my dog still had a problem after ten days, to bring her back and they would sedate my dog and do an x-Ray. Not once did I talk to or see a veterinary doctor. It cost me $ 65.00 (normal walk in fee is $ 50.00) to walk through the door. I paid another $ 15.00 for medication. I left this practice because I got tired of their over pricing. There are excellent doctors out there who are more reasonable. I know because I found a wonderful, caring vet in College Grove. Be very cautious when using Gabapentin and Aluminum hydroxide together. It can cause constipation and then bowel blockage. The levels of toxicity can cause neurological issues, even death. I wish my vet had known. We gave her thin food in a syringe around the clock. The emergency Vet told they couldn't do more for her than I was. My baby girl died in my arms at 2AM yesterday. Just had a great check-up a month ago. Kidney values so much better. It was too late before a little searching with Google to find any of this. Can't call the vet or leave a message to find out what to do. E-mail only and wait or just show up. No personal touch anymore. No relationship with your doctor to feel some level of confidence They are in good hands. Do your pet a favor and do a little digging around. They, of course ,are not responsible. My dog Mayla is a long time patient of Premiere Vet Care. I've noticed during the last 2 years service and care has diminished significantly, the prices increased considerably, and the overall care for Mayla has diminished as well. 5 Years ago I raved about Premier, now all I can offer is for you to find a veterinary service who doesn't treat your loved one as a product on an assembly line. The good vets left. I guess they became tired of the business approach of Premiere. Today I rate them a 3. Because they DID manage to treat my dog's recent UTI, but instead of prescribing a antibiotic dosage adequate to end the illness, the vet prescribed a one week regimen. I returned, paid another $46 for a test and told to put her on 2 weeks of antibiotics. Because the vet knew nothing about Mayla's history, she went 4 days without medication. The vet also prescribed a "chewable" medication. If she knew who we were (a vet with a history of Mayla) she might have known Mayla won't chew anything. The most difficult dog who ever lived to give a pill to. The pharmacy did not carry the medication, and I waited 2 days for the medicine to arrive. Mayla was then 6 days without medication. The test they "send off to a lab" is priced 50% higher than other vets. I researched the prices among local vets. This clinic does not deserve to be rated any higher than - a mere "ok if you're desperate." I see in the reviews the decline in ratings since 2015 - a steady decline. Now I add my rating. Unfortunately, this place has very little competition in the area. There are new young vets there whom I feel are trying to drum up business for the office and make money for them, thereby making themselves seemingly more valuable to the practice. I take my dog in for a shoulder x-ray. Instead of just giving her a Valium, I get talked into coming back the next day for anesthesia and a teeth cleaning. Ok. So, take the dog back the VERY NEXT day, and now she has an irregular heartbeat, she "might have" kidney failure, she "might have" CHF, she "could have" a reduced life span, all these things to justify running a major battery of tests. I don't know if this is because I let slip I have insurance on my dog or what, but I felt RAPED. This is a 7 year old dog in excellent health, urinating, eating, stooling completely normally. They don't know who they are messing with; I'm not ignorant. Very, very disappointed as I really liked this doc on my first visit. Now I think I got swindled. No one cared that I was unhappy with their service and they gladly took my $90 for a blood test they ran without my permission before the tooth cleaning and was not on the procedure estimate whatsoever. I settled up my bill and ran like heck outta there. Beware!!! You DO have a right to say NO; you don't have to go along with all that if it doesn't feel right. I would advise, if you do go here, that you at least request one of the senior doctors. read more

We recently moved from Hawaii and needed a veterinarian close to our new home. With the recent snow and a brand new puppy it was a challenge to drive. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout the entire experience. Our puppy has parvo and unfortunately we purchased him with the illness. He's been in their care for the past 3 days but I've been able to visit daily and get progress phone calls twice a day. I received an estimate on the initial visit and an updated amount since he needs to remain in their care over the weekend. I am hopeful that he pulls through. Although I would like to give premier 2 stars based on customer service, I can not based on how well they do care for pets. The vets are always very loving with the animals and do provide great care. My family has been taking our pets there since it opened. Unfortunately, we will be switching vets do to the experiences we have had the past several times we have had to visit. Each time, we make an appointment for a set time. For a while now, it has seemed like it is pointless to even make an appointment. I would say for the past 3 years, every time we have had to visit it has taken about an hour and a half to be placed in an actual exam room. Of course we do understand emergency situations or more urgent patients. But, when we make an appointment for a certain time for a simple wellness check or shot update it seems very excessive to have to wait almost 2 hours after the appointment time to be seen. We have tried now for a while to look past it and hope that it would improve but unfortunately it has turned into every visit now. read more

Premier VetCare was fantastic. They took great care of my dog A.J. He went for his first official pet visit, and they gave him some meds. I brought him home and he ended up eating all of his meds. Called Permier VetCare and they said to bring him back in so they can get the medicine out of him. He threw up in the car and they gave me cleaning supplies to clean it up, which they didn't have to do. I'll definitely recommend Premier VetCare to my friends with pets. I have been taking my dogs to Premier Vetcare for close to 8 years. prior to the last 2.5 months I had not really had any big issues. Before Christmas 2020 one of my dogs had been limping. On 12/16/20 I took him in to be seen due to the limping. I thought it might have been a split nail. One of the techs was extremely rude and kept asking if he was a premier pet. I explained to the tech that he (my dog) was a premier pet. They gave him a nail trim and said they had seen worse. I was not asked if I wanted to meet with the vet and look it over.The discharge paperwork stated I was asked, I KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS NOT ASKED IF I WANTED TO MEET WITH THE VET. I was not informed that day that there was anything wrong with my pet. A week or so had passed and my pet had seemed to get worse. He would not bare weight on his back leg. On December 27, 2020 I ended up taking him to blue pearl emergency pet hospital. While at blue pearl they did a thorough look over on his paw and found that he had an infection. They then prescribed medicine and sent us home to follow up with our primary vet (Premier Vetcare.) I followed up with Premier on 01/04/21 about his foot still not healing. Premier prescribed more antibiotics and anti-inflammatory's and stated in my discharge paperwork I "if the paw is not improved by the end of the antibiotics, we will likely need to take x-rays and culture the wound." This is where I get upset. After all this Premier DID NOT FOLLOW UP ABOUT HIM. A few days after that I came home to him having a bloody paw; once again I go to Premier. When I brought him in with the bloody paw, they carried him into the back. They cleaned the wound and stated that the paw was still infected. We went home. ONCE AGAIN, NO FOLLOW UP ON MY ANIMAL. On 01/11/21 my pet still had not gotten better, I brought him back. They did x-rays and a culture and per my discharge paperwork "I will let you know when the culture results come back in. I am starting him on a different antibiotic. In the meantime, since the x-rays showed evidence of some bone involvement. If his infection fails to respond to the antibiotics, the digit may require amputation." I left with my baby and went home. Premier received the results on 01/16/21. I called on 1/18/21 at 3:00pm to inquire if the results had come back, and was told yes, they are back but the doctor had not reviewed them yet. I was also told I would be called back. They did not call me with the results until the next day at 8:58am and left a voicemail. they decided to change his medicine and go from there. THIS IS NOT OK. His foot was getting worse. On 01/26/21 my niece and I looked at his toe/foot and removed/cut away the hair (which Premier never did) and his nail on his toe bed was so bad it was detaching. The next day I took him to VCA animal hospital in Murfreesboro. The vet there looked at my dog and took more x-rays and informed me by the x-rays that my dogs toe needed to be amputated and there is an 85% chance by the look of the x-rays he has bone cancer. WHY DIDN'T PREMIER CATCH THIS. I am heartbroken that it went on for this long. I am put out with the poor customer service and lack of frequent and professional communication by premier. This past Friday 01/29/21 my dogs' toe was amputated and sent to pathology. This is not Ok premier. They should have caught this so much sooner. read more

Unfortunately, due to a long battle with kidney failure, we had to make the very hard decision to euthanize our precious furbaby. I was really struggling not only because it was hard but because I wanted to honor him, keep him calm and peaceful and surround him with love in his last moments. We had just moved to Smyrna and had no veterinarian relationship yet. My boyfriend told me about Premier so I made the appointment. They got us in only two hours after calling, welcomed us gently and escorted us to a living room type setup. We laid his bed on the floor and laid beside him. The staff was so loving, sensitive and gentle. As heart-wrenching as it was; it was also a very beautiful experience. My boy was treated with love and was at total peace in his last moments. No stainless steel table, no rushed moments, just genuine compassion, sympathy and empathy. We were allowed to take the time we needed throughout the process to love on him, ask questions and say our goodbyes. It felt much like being in our own home. I can not be more grateful for the EXCEPTIONAL care we were given. It made one of the most difficult decisions and experiences feel as good as it possibly could. If I ever open my heart and home to another dog, Premier will be my vet, no question. read more

As a group, the employees seem to either 1) not really know what they're doing so they have to run through a whole bunch of expensive options or 2) run through those options to rack up the bill. One thing that really bothers me is bait and switch pricing. I had to bring my cat in for a procedure, and I called ahead to make sure I could afford it. I was quoted a price. When it was done and it was time to pay the bill, it was $50 more. I won't be taking any of the rest of our animals here. Oh, also, I got a "survey" emailed to me after my visit. It asked me to "provide my feedback". I clicked and was asked "If you were to recommend Premier Vetcare to a friend what would you say". Expecting there to be more questions than this, I hit "next". There were no other questions, and no opportunity to go back to edit your comments. Just a screen that says "A written review is the highest compliment you can give us. Please copy & paste your review to one of the sites below" and included a link to Yelp and Google. So basically they aren't at all interested in your feedback or what they can do to make their business better. They're interested in only your positive comments, and then only so that they can make it easier for you to post a review online. Shady. read more

I am really disgusted. I called up tonight to ask for a quote for the following. 1) Feline annual vaccination cost. 2) Feline dental exam. 3) Feline full blood panel as my cat is 14 and has not had a full blood panel in almost 3 years. 4) 1 major tooth extraction as she has visible swelling and a hole and my previous vet in San Diego told me that tooth would need to come out soon. 5) I.V fluids to acompany extractions. The woman on the phone kept interrupting me, was incredibly INCREDIBLY RUDE, refused to quote me on vaccinations, full blood tests, I.V fluids under anesthesia (she would not tell me if the dental exam itself included this) She was incredibly rude, and just wanted me to PAY FOR A QUOTE IN PERSON... I told her that it was a very standard request to ask for vaccination costs, full blood panel costs, and she kept telling me over and over again that she couldn't give me the cost of anything besides a basic dental exam. I would NEVER use a vet that behaved this way. The woman on the phone was VERY RUDE. and I even gave her another chance and said "Look, do you want my business? And me to give you money? I'm just trying to get my cat seen and her infected tooth taken care of. She is 14 and I am trying to look after her properly. I refuse to waste time getting trapped into seeing a vet who won't give prices on the phone. She was rude and I told her if she continued to be rude I would leave a bad review. I am in tears.. and I am going to call more vets until I find one who has good customer service and good prices.. Nope, I did contact your clinic via email expressing my concerns. The chief concern being your clinic putting a slip leash on my dog and choking him until he vomited. I've been taking my senior dog and 2 cats to Premier for about a year now and we love them! My dog has a few health problems that come with old age (dental extractions, cushings disease and a heart murmur) so the vet bills can get pretty up there, but they really work with me on cost via payment plans. In the last year I've had to bring my dog in a handful of times and she actually gets super excited to go to the vet because she gets so much love from the staff. I picked Premier Vet to take my 9 month old Buffy to because they had gotten such great ratings and they are very close to were we live to I thought it was a win win! When we got there Buffy was throwing up, soft stool, wouldn't eat and lethargic. They did a fecal test first thing and said that it came back fine. They took her temp but never told us what it was. I guess they thought she might have a bowel obstruction so they did x-rays and nothing really came back expect a little area that they thought was gas. Here is the problem, I am not a vet they are so even know my baby had her shots I was told by others that they still should have done a parvo test on her which never even came up. They sent her home with nausea meds and said she needed to take them for her upset stomach and if she wasn't any better to come back and they would have to do a die ultrasound test to make sure that she didn't eat something that couldn't be seem by the x-ray. Well my baby left the vet and 10 hours later we were rushing her to the ER vet because she was passing major blood and was so lethargic she couldn't hold her head up. As soon as we walked in and saw the stool with blood they knew it was parvo. It makes me mad that so many signs were there and they never tested her for parvo. This is such a brutal illness and time is so important. If they would have tested her and we could have started treatment earlier maybe Buffy wouldn't be fighting for her life now. I called and left a message Friday morning after it happened and the vet never called me back. When emailed them that afternoon and told them my frustrations they emailed me back after they had left and said that they were really busy with emergency cases and didn't have time to call back non- emergency cases. Maybe is was non- emergency to you but my baby having a 50/50 chance of making It is important to me. I emailed again on Saturday and said I would like someone to call me back and still I received no phone call yesterday. So I emailed again last night asking if they lost my number and finally about 11:30am today someone calls me back. Not the vet that treated her but her receptionist. They wouldn't take any responsibility for what happened and said that the vet (Dr. Letarte) must have not seem enough to think it was parvo. Well a lot of good that does by Buffy right now.
