Turning Pages, and the adjoining dedicated nooks (games, clothing, cafe) is a magical place to spend any Sunday morning. The selection of books, vinyl, CDs, and even cassette tapes is impressive given the quality of what was available. I especially liked pursuing the classics. Everything is priced quite reasonably and I am pretty happy with today's finds: an art book, a card game, a CD and a cassette of 1969 hits. The ladies staffing the bookstore are smart, welcoming and courteous. They clearly love the store and books in general. The upkeep of this business speaks volumes of the care taken in preserving the works for sale.

Outside the store front was easy to find and entrance labeled. Nice location being on a busy local beach street - I visited here on vacation so definitely can see that this is a great place to stop in for tourists while also could cater to locals. Inside, the store itself felt tidy with things put away and things looking clean. I love it when shelves look dusted and centered, and I hate to see trash thrown around the store (I know it is not store's fault that customer litters - it just makes me hate people in general when I see it). Genres and sections were labeled so it was easy to glance at the signs and try to figure out where things were. Things were marked and priced fairly considering it was a small business. The displays were adorable. I felt like there was a wide mix of different curated interests in each section. I adored the Off-Campus display and the Dolly Parton (RIP) display. I noticed a coffee shop area in front corner area of store - I did not purchase anything from it or pay much attention to it, but it looked like a plausible option if you wanted to get a beverage and browse. Staff was very helpful and gave great customer service. Very pleasant during checkout. At one point an associate saw me looking at items behind the register and offered assistance. Embarrassingly I ended up thinking I lost my water bottle in the store and the store associates kindly took down my phone number and offered to call me if they found it! It was very nice consideration although I will note that I found it in a different store I stopped in, so cannot confirm if they would actually call you if you lost something there. But they gave the energy they would! I ended up buying some plushies and stickers! Overall, I enjoyed my time there! Seems like a great friendly place you can go in to look for a specific book or casually browse. The interior is so cute! There is a lovely bar top meant for reading a book while sipping on wine. There is an extensive shelving unit filled with bottles of wine to purchase. Each bottle of wine has a tag around the neck giving a vivid description of the wine. I appreciated that the wine pricing averaged $25 which is within my budget. The selection of books is fantastic. I recognized so many authors and also discovered new books I want to read. I told the manager how in love i am with this store and she shared they also host book clubs and events. If I was not a tourist I would definitely become a member of their book club. The manager helped me pick a lovely bottle of white wine to take home. I appreciated how knowledgeable she was about the wine which is remarkable given how large the selection of bottles is. I will likely come back to pick up merch. I never want to forget about visiting this unique and adorable small business.

I love to peruse their World History, Religion, and Non-Fiction sections... my preferred beach read is an Erik Larson book or a nice leadership selection! Bethany Beach Books also constantly has renowned authors come in to the bookstore for signings. You can see the full season of authors decorating the ceiling. For our week trip, they had a different author everyday! The value is right on top. Not significantly marked up and honestly.. remember that you are paying for the curation too! We fell in love with an old artwork of Chincoteague displayed at a local restaurant, and we visited this store hoping to find a copy. Store owner went above and beyond to go through their collections to find exactly we were looking for. This made our day! During the checkout, we noticed a big bumble bee and Bernie Saunder's crochet displayed (not for sale) by the counter, and the store owners told us that the local lady made those crochets for them. We couldn't get over how cute and well-made they were, then the store owners even offered to contact her for us! This was our first time visiting this store, and we will be returning every time we travel to Chincoteague!

We were chatting with the owner, who mentioned that she had written a book the previous year called Death is My Life. And she was describing her life who were really struck with everything that she had been through and bought ourselves a copy. Her significant other was in the back room doing the accounting and he was just as friendly. It was so lovely seeing these two people, and they really mentioned their appreciation that we stomped by not only to support a local bookstore, but to support a local bookstore in the off-season. We chatted a bit about what books were good, and ended up buying two that we'll read while here and on the plane ride back home. Do yourself a favor. I went back Thursday and he put a book aside for me and there were not many books left in the shipment. The employee was so friendly and I greatly appreciated him holding and putting the book aside for me and he knew I was on vacation. Highly recommend.
