According to the Retirement Home Act they must give us a plan of care within 21 days, which must be updated after 6 months. After 8 months of nothing, we asked for it. Instead of admitting to the fact that they had not done it, they gave us another document trying to pass it off as the plan of care.

It's like a large family/community of its own. you can spend your time quietly on your own in your room or in one of the lounges on every floor. or you can spend time with other people talking or doing the scheduled activities. I found the meals to be very balanced with salads and fresh fruit, and your choice of meals that are suggested daily. There are snacks during the day with drinks available as well. The staff are great. They're friendly, they always address you by name and always ask if they can help you with anything. The administrative staff are just as helpful and friendly. I would like to give a shout out to Sandy and Tonya for all their help. Since my daughter goes on a few trips a year I am hoping to go back and spend my time at Devonshire. Students are not allowed to eat in the staff room, told go find somewhere else to eat. They where not allowed to use change room if staff where present. Many more things where unexpectable as well. During this time of age for there is shortage of staff in Long Term Care you would think the staff and management would at the least show some kind of kindness or mutual respect for students as everybody was a student at one time. Image how they treat the residents if they treat students this bad who can and will speak up for themselves in time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO WORK OR PUT YOU LOVE ONES IN !!!!!

However, all of Ambassador's staff was amazing! They were so friendly! I truly believe that the positive attitudes of the staff have tremendously helped my dad during his recovery. He's also very big on keeping sterile, which is so appreciated. I think he's the best doctor I've ever had anywhere. Other staff, especially front desk staff, can be kinda rude. I'm sure they get all types of people in there so I get it, but I always feel like I'm being annoying to them just by simply being there.

Other staff but same care no matter what time, friendly front desk staff while you check-in but be prepared to wait and then wait some more. Then get bumped if another testing or appointment comes in. And eventually, you go back to sit and wait some more, not sure why the wait takes so long because when you finally get back, you wait but not as long as you do when you are in that lobby, that's for sure
