Restaurant was closed Tuesday and Wednesday we arrived on a Monday so after traveling all day we set up the RV and headed over. There was a small shower go through but nothing big. We got over to the restaurant and they said since it rained they closed early. Wow a few sprinkles and no service. The bar was open!! The campground has full hook ups but gravel narrow spaces. There were other campers in the next row blasting music so loud it was ridiculous. We like music but having to completely listen to they're rap list was much couldn't of heard ours inside out rig it was that loud. Some people just don't have any etiquette on respecting others vacation areas. SMH Campground is right on the water with a very narrow crooked boat launch. By the way $10 a day launch fee. We have parked our boat at the marina here for now going at 3 years. I absolutely love the location and it's beautiful. The restaurant here is great for campers, boaters, or people just looking for great bar food. Some of the best burgers I've had in a while. For the past 2 years we have rented a camping spot. I have a 5 year and an 18 month old. They love the camp spot and how many other families are around with kids. Spots have full hook-ups and many have trees for shade. Bathrooms aren't aren't awful. Sometimes they get a little dirty but staff seems to work hard to make it more cleanly. The restaurant is fantastic. We've eaten there a few times. Burgers are amazing as I said. I really do like their mixed cocktails--some huckleberry ones on the menu. Great beer selection with a few taps and many different canned beers. Nothing like watching the sunset from their patio too. Usually on weekends they will bring live music which is local artists who are very interactive with patrons. This place is a great spot. I think we get uppity people who are expecting a "5 star resort". That and the "glampers" who then their nose up at everything. Updated to say the menu has improved, and the name has changed.. again. Recommend you don't go on a holiday weekend (4th of July menu was basically burger, hot dog, or fish n chips - all good but no variety). On non-holiday menu days, we enjoy several of their options. And the huckleberry margaritas are still the drink of choice there. read more

Waitress was great. Fish and chips and fish tacos were so over cooked they were very dark brown. Onion rings were luke warm. It was not busy but we waited almost 40 minutes. i knew it would be expensive but $75 for almost burned fish and two drinks is a lot to swallows. The waitress was great. read more

While vacationing at Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint Idaho it's so fun to eat at a bayside place that is only accessible by boat. We had a big table of 9 people and they said great just walk to the back and the table was ready The food was typical bar food and I had nachos. They were ok and had lots of fresh vegetables on them The service was amazing Darling Brittney was our waitress and the friends we were with knew her. She worked really hard for us and at the end the cook came out and then the Manager just to check on us I love Sandpoint because everyone knows each other and it's like eating at an old friends house The food was okay but the whole experience made it wonderful If you're out in the lake make sure you pull your boat into the Marina and go and meet new friends read more

Great location right on the water. Our service was good during lunch hours. We had the gyro appetizer that held 3 small gyros, it was delicious! Also the fish tacos were fried perfectly, not too greasy. The tacos came we a side and we chose fries. The beer battered fries were perfection! I usually like sauce to dip fries in, these needed nothing. We will be back! I'd rate this 4.5 if that was an option. read more

Nice location. Very average food at best. This restaurant has lots of potential but hasn't achieved it yet. They try hard, it's evident, but a few simple suggestions will make it a destination instead of a choice of convenience only. 1. Make your own burgers - not hard, but so much better. Perfect the burger and you will elevate the experience so much. If we want a Costco patty we will do it at home. 2. Offer a few more healthy options. Fried food is easy. Try a healthy entry or two. Strive for excellence instead of mediocrity. read more

Great full bar, and incredible atmosphere, as you are literally sitting ON the Pend Oreille river. They have an amazing musician that performs every Friday and Sunday, early evening, just as you're getting off your boat! You can drive there too! Their high highly ranked chef turns out beautiful steaks all the way to great fries and burgers! I couldn't get enough of this place over the summer. read more

New management this year (name is Fat Bass Bar & Grill), they've only been open since the first of July. We ate here two Saturdays ago, and they were still trying to get a handle on things. First, the waitress brought us our drinks with no ice, apologizing for the ice maker being broken. When she came back for our order, we pointed out how every other table had ice in their drinks. She then brought us a pitcher of ice and took our orders. Over 57 minutes later, she returned with our food. The food was good quality, but it took so long for it arrive that my daughter became weak and physically ill. We heard another waitress warn her customers that the kitchen was behind and orders would take longer. Had we received a similar warning, we would probably have ordered appetizers or some snack item to alleviate our hunger. read more

This is our 6th summer up here. The past 2 years have been unsatisfactory at Willow Bay. With new owners this year, we were excited to give it a try. It's a little pricey, but the food was good. They had just opened, and anyone that lives up this way understands how hard it is to find good help. They were all trying hard to get a routine going. Gave it a 4 because there is room for improvement. Kudos to the new owner for being brave enough to buy a business that will only make him money 4 months out of the year. Looking forward to seeing the progress and having somewhere on the river that is consistent with its food and hours. If you city folk come up and expect the same service like you get at your fancy restaurants, you will be disappointed. We chill up here. And the workers try to do their best.......... read more

We tried to eat her TWICE. The word is tried. Both times we left after waiting over an hour for our food. The first time the waitress took our order after waiting for 40 min for her to take it. Then 30 minutes later came to the table and told us the kitchen was backed up and it would be at least and hour for our food to come out. So over 2 hours for our food to show up? She told us she got busy and forgot to turn our order in. We left. The next weekend we tried it again. Our mistake. This time we got our appetizers after waiting over an hour then the waitress tells us the kitchen is backed up again for over an hour. Since the appetizers were meh, we decided to leave again. We won't be back. Beautiful location but this restaurant needs new management. Sad. read more

Horrible service. Ice was melted in our drinks by the time they were served. It took over 90 minutes for the food to be served. I had the steak. It was it was luke warm and over cooked. Not very much flavor - I'm guessing in was frozen. There were no utensils on the table, so we had to go find our own. Waitress never checked in with us. She forgot my salad. Worst experience I ever had....don't bother with this poorly run, overpriced establishment. read more

We understand it is a struggle in this area to get workers when you need them and have consistency in this market. However, Vay, please get your act together. We do our best to try and support you because we want Willow Bay to be open and provide service in this area but you have to pay attention to your customers and train your people. Each and every time has been disappointing this year. Your people are clueless in how they handle service, people, and a little business. You should be glad you get as busy as you do and yet you only have about 2 workers with a sense of urgency or awareness. Please take note and step up your game. You have a potential gold mine here and you're eating it by not caring. Today's server couldn't figure out how to take our order before she sat two other tables and took their orders, leaving us sitting here with an empty table except for water. Giving two stars simply because of location. This place has the potential to be amazing. BUT. . . Management is lacking. All three times we have made the trip up the river to eat and have drinks here have been severely disappointing. Good luck even getting acknowledged for at least a half hour. No exaggeration. Then they act like you are being unreasonable, saying how busy they are, yet you can go inside and see several workers standing around by the bar. They actually turned and older couple away at the deck, saying they didn't have any tables, when there were clearly tables open. The only reason this place is still in business is location. This is a great location and has a lot of potential to make a fortune in revenue but unfortunately every year it is run by someone new and they don't have a clue about what they are doing. The food here is not very good, menu options are poor at best and way over priced for what you get. They close at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening so basically your screwed if want dinner on Sunday. read more

Tried going here with our family of about 14 people mid afternoon on a Sunday. Although the restaurant did appear busy, we would've gladly sat at one of the 6 open tables for drinks just to spend time together. Unfortunately, the very rude and abrupt hostess informed us that they wouldn't be able to seat us for an hour. Seeing several open tables we were confused as to why our business was being turned away. We then asked if we could sit at a table and get drinks and were told by a different waitress we could be seated but wouldn't be able to get food for over an hour. The rude hostess seemed irritated at even the suggestion of us sitting down to have drinks. We felt very unwelcome and decided this was not a business we wanted to support. read more

3 1/2 hours to get lunch! We were told it would be 1/2 an hour before we could even be seated (although they had about 8 empty tables and no one in the covered area at all) I asked if we could at least just sit down while we waited the 1/2 hour as we had a grandfather and 3 young children with us. I was rudely told we should have made a reservation ... I again said we didn't mind waiting the 1/2 hour but really needed to be able to sit while we waited. They finally sat us down. They brought us 1 pitcher of water and 7 glasses although there were 11 of us. After waiting over 1 hour my husband went and asked for a piece of paper and some menus so he could write down our order and give it to them. 15 minutes later our waitress showed up and took our order. She was very apologetic. We ordered and then sat for for another hour ( 4 salads, 4 chicken strips, 2 burgers, 1 sandwich) and finally asked how much longer it would be and that we had been waiting over an hour just for the food. Again we were told by the owner that we should have made a reservation! (Its now about 2:30 and only a couple tables were even full as we watched two tables of people get up and walk out because they were tired of waiting). They kept telling us it was coming right up but had to tell us that 3 times. People who had come in after us were served before us because we had 11 people and no reservation and apparently the owner wasn't happy about us bringing a big group in to try and support our local business? They said they would make it up to us for all the trouble ... this was done by giving us 10% off our bill. We then got the bill after going and finding them to ask for it. At which time I noticed that on a $26.00 bill (for two of us) they had only taken off 1.01 ... I told the owner that wasn't even 10% and she said "that doesn't seem right" and continued to sit there at the bar and do nothing. Our friends had the same thing happen to them. We will NOT BE BACK or recommend this place to anyone else. We have lived here 25 years and never seen such awful service. These new owners have no business running a restraunt ... if your visiting this area please know that most of the businesses in this area care very much about their customers and try very very hard to make sure they have a wonderful time here ... they are very appreciative of your choosing them to visit so please seek out some other good hard working business who really cares and leave this one alone as they seem to be bothered by people showing up. read more
