Food is not included in this rating of 1. Service is slower than making ice cream. Ordered a burger over an hour ago. Still don't have it. The family says that they are notorious for slow service. I'm pretty understanding with being short handed, but this is ridiculous. I saw a to go order taken out 30 minutes ago. The food is definitely good. Props to the cook. I'm amazed at how the owners allow this restaurant to be in shambles like this. I feel horrible for the only 2 workers working tonite. When the cook has to bring out food, something ain't right. The owners should have been filling in for someone calling in sick...on a Friday. I heard this is normal. Sad. read more

Usk "yousk" Washington for those outta staters like me is a small community but big on makin it right for those fortunate enuff to stop in at the Usk Bar & Grill. I was brought into the fold by my dear friends Steve & Lynne & grandson Kris, who live down the road a spell, for breakfast on Sunday morning. We started out with a nice full fisted cup o' joe and then ordered our breakfasts which consisted of the Country Benny which is a nice big plate of biscuit, sausage & egg slathered w/ gravy along w/ a lumberjack - truck drivers portion of country style hash browns. The hash browns were different from those I'm familiar with...they were like a mini French fry in shape but fried on the grill and AwesomE! Lynne & I opted for a custom healthier version of their Veggie omelet with their custom version of hash browns. I was sharing a bottle of a custom pepper blend called "MayBeHot!" that I brought along and Lynne & I decided it would be nice to test the spice in a Bloody Mary since it was after all the weekend and there was a full bar behind us. The "MayBeHot!" was a FINE addition to the cocktail and it managed to make its way to the hash browns and the omelets. What a KILLER breakfast, so much so I had to go for a walk just to help my loaded tummy handle my excessiveness. My love of small diners and the wonderful people that are passionate about serving the locals as well as new friends just passing through, was expanded on again. The staff was friendly, fun & aiming to please so if you are in the neighborhood you best pop in and make this restaurant a bigger player in the greater northern Washington / Idaho area! Love this awesome local haunt, food is consistent and the drinks solid. Tap beer from regional breweries including our own Top Frog from Newport! Worth a stop for lunch or an evening drink with a burger. Sunday breakfast is hard to beat too! read more

After a long 8 hour day snow shoeing over 11 miles, this place was a slice of heaven. New owners and great customer service. I'm a flexitarian and usually don't enjoy eating out. I liked their options and enjoyed their sweet potato fries plain. Beer recommends were enjoyed as well. Next time I would like to try their veggie wrap. All my fellow hikers enjoyed their meals as well and the homemade buns. Bathroom was clean and warm. read more

It was nice to dine in. That's about it. The food was poor, service was worse. I ate my salad without silverware and dressing, my burger was salty, they didn't come back around to see if I needed anything like BBQ sauce or a drink. Would never recommend or come here again. read more

This was our first time in this place since they reopened after a few years of being closed . We both had the grilled chicken flat breads which were excellent . They have a full bar with our local Top Frog Rye IPA on tap . Extremely friendly staff that made us fell right at home . Out back they have wonderful outdoor area with a fire pit and tables . This place is amazing! The food is excellent! We came for lunch, the prices were between $8-$10 for the sandwiches and burgers, all come with fries, sweet potato fries or salad. The service was very good, friendly! I highly recommend this place. They also have a full bar. And live music on Saturday's this month. And a stage out back with a fire pit. read more

I've lived in Usk for 13 years now (BTW Slider S. ... It's NOT pronounced 'Yousk' ... It's USK, like 'Musk' or 'Dusk' without the M or D....) Anyway, when the previous owners were in charge, the place was a DUMP. It was basically a place for the indians to go get drunk, the kitchen was disgusting, and the menu was basically 'Do you want some food with your grease?' kinda thing. I went in there once in the late 90's and vowed to never go back. The joke around town was the 'swimming pool eggs' for breakfast. (As in the eggs were floating in the grease on your plate) So, recently, it was shut down for almost a year after it changed hands and the new owner/management has turned this place 180 degrees around. It was my wife's birthday last week and there is a banner out front that says 'Live Music on Weekends' .... So, we went. I couldn't believe what the place looked like after the last time I'd been there. All brand new inside, clean, and very nice. Food was AWESOME! The wife had some 'veggie pizza' (Which had disgusting things that guys don't eat, so I can't comment on that) ... But I had the 'Pantera Burger'.. And it WAS! About a 1 lb. burger, with SIX slices of bacon and WRAPPED in ham!! It was so tall, they stick a steak-knife through it, just to hold it together. It really was an EPIC burger. My choice of a side was potato salad and that was awesome also! The staff/waitress was energetic and always making sure you were happy. They hit the very fine line of being attentive enough, without being over-bearing. Our waitress was SO good that, even though our bill was $37.00 (pizza, burger, and six Corona's) I left her a $20.00 tip. And after dinner we went out back, which was a very cozy 'backyard' feel to listen to the Bluegrass band that was playing. It was picnic benches, a nice fire pit, and mosquito candles to keep the bugs away. The music was great and they (Band and restaurant) went out of their way to make sure you were having a good time. Came in for hunting season again this year for our traditional trip for Thursday football. Great food and beer as usual. The bartender noticed how long it took for us to get us our food and offered on her own to knock money off our tab or give us a free beer for our table for the longer wait. They do an amazing job at this establishment. Highly recommend supporting this small town business if your in the area read more

We had dinner here last night. I was very impressed. I needed a gluten free meal and ask for a variation of one of their menu items. The communication between the waitress and cook had to have been great and the cook's preparation was spot on to what I wanted. My wife's meal was fantastic as well. Very attentive service. Decided to try it out after the new mgmt took over. My co-worker and I went in for Lunch, they were semi-busy, no seating available expect in the bar (where adults usually sit during lunch) but we couldnt due to the fact that their wait staff werent over the legal age to be in a bar. The first time we went it was great. Great food and service. It was the weekend. Good Chef. The next time a Monday it took 30 mi to get water and I had to get up and ask for it. Food good. The last time service was bad and I had the special a stir fri veggies old meat tough. Haven't been back. Wish I could give a better review. Prices are outrageous for mediocre food. They have live music on occasion that violates the countys noice ordinance. The owner/manager was contacted regarding the noise and he did not care. The sheriff was called and responded 3 different times and they were asked to turn the music down. The band nor the owners complied with the requests to quiet down. The noise ordinance takes effect at 10 and the band played past 11pm keeping the neighbors awake and not happy with how the situation was handled. Very rude owners with no customer service skills whatsoever. read more

Relative to the location, this would be five stars. But, not quite when compared to a city five star eatery. Still, it was very good. For the Rueben, it might even be worth a special trip. When we sat down to order the sandwiches, the order was turned over to a kid that looked sixteen. I was anticipating a burger cooked by a sixteen year old. It came-out nicely. A bit pink--I ordered it well done. The onion rings and fries were very good, as well. Staff were very friendly. Service was quick. Felt very comfortable in there, even though I am not a local.
