Very nice large, open dog park. It is divided into two sections. A larger side for the large dogs and a smaller size for the little dogs and/or puppies. The larger size offers lots of different items for the bigger dogs to climb on, under or through. Brought my dog here while visiting my mom and he loved it. It loved being able to mingle with all the other dogs as well as play in the snow, as we came here the morning after it snowed. There is a covered area with tables and chairs for the humans to sit at while their fur babies play. There is an area for dogs to get water as well. Oh yeah, most of the area is covered in fake grass. I did like how all the dog parents kept a close eye on their dogs and made sure to pick up after them when they went to the restroom. If you forgot to bring dog bags, they have several stations where you can get them as well as several trash cans to throw your trash away in. Parking lot isn't the biggest, but seemed to accommodate the people that came while I was there. I'm sure it can get really busy when the weather is really nice.

On our recent vacation trip through northern Arizona we took a day trip to Prescott with our black labs. It was hot, and on a recommendation from on of our camp neighbors, we visited this large and well appointed dog park. Piper and Coal had a blast here, and the dogs were defintiely friendly as well as their humans. Lots of water features here, and even a doggie pool to dip and play in. Plenty of running space on both dirt and artificial grass, and lots of agility tests for every shape of hound. Separate areas segregate small and large breeds, plenty of shade and tables for humans to relax...not to mention the history of this cool park. It is firefighter themed, so do a little research and you will find some cool stuff regarding its origins. Hints to its history come at the front gate. If you are traveling or live nearby, and you have furry four legged friends, do them and favor and stop here for a bark and a run. You won't be disappointed!

It looks like a playground for pups! That being said Alley pup wasn't a fan. The people were great. Well, heading over Willow Lake.

Great dog park. Excellent space, responsible dog owners, the best we've been to. Thanks for all who make this possible.

Beautiful fire fighter themed dog park - note closed Monday mornings. Our dogs love visiting here. Lots of people seating and shade too.

Especially disappointing that if the person who is there before is rude and inconsiderate of others and hangs out there for longer than what would be a considerable amount of time and won't allow anyone else to use it. Also there should be bigger signs and available acknowledgements before entering the area so you don't get screamed at by dog owners who obviously haven't trained their dogs or themselves to behave

This mark has three enclosed areas! 1) Small dogs under 25lbs 2) Large dogs 3) Training area Pumpkin who is only 4lbs! Of course wants to hang with the big dogs??? For some reason she loves to run and jump at them, and harasses them until they get mad, don't know why?? But this park is really nice, it has your usual park benches and water for the dogs, it's just right down the street from Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Let them loose and let them get tired! When we come back to the Park, we will bring our princesses with us and stop off here again!

We took the whole crew to Slide Rock State Park, and this one surprised a few people. On paper, it…read moresounds simple. A creek, some rocks, a natural "slide." In reality, it's a full-on experience. First thing you notice is the setting. You're tucked into Oak Creek Canyon with red rock walls rising up around you, water cutting through it like it's been doing forever. It's one of those places where the scenery alone would be enough. But then you add the water. And that water is cold. Not refreshing. Not brisk. Cold. The kind that hits you and resets your entire nervous system. Once you get past that initial shock, though, it's perfect, especially with the Arizona heat doing its thing overhead. The main attraction is the natural rock slide, which is exactly what it sounds like. Smooth, worn stone with water rushing over it, turning the whole thing into a fast-moving chute. Kids loved it. Adults pretended to be cautious and then went right down anyway. It's controlled chaos in the best way. People laughing, slipping, climbing back up to do it again. We had a bigger group, so we claimed a stretch of rock and sort of set up camp for a few hours. There's enough space to spread out if you're willing to walk a bit. Towels on the rocks, bags tucked away, everyone rotating between the water and just sitting back taking it all in. It does get busy. No way around that. This isn't some hidden, quiet spot. But it never felt overwhelming, just lively. There's an energy to it that works. Families, groups of friends, everyone there for the same reason, to cool off and have a good time. A couple practical things. Wear shoes with some grip. Those rocks are no joke. And keep an eye on your footing, especially with kids. It's fun, but it demands a little respect. What stuck with me is how simple it is. No overthinking, no production. Just water, rock, and gravity doing what they do. You show up, you get in, you laugh a little, maybe get knocked around once or twice, and you leave feeling like you actually did something with your day. If you're anywhere near Sedona and it's warm out, this is an easy call. It's not polished, it's not quiet, and that's exactly why it works.
