The renovations are fabulous. However, many, many people do not follow the rules. I consistently watch dogs go potty and the owners not picking it up. Many small dogs are in large dog areas;oblivious to all the deaths by a shake or two. People with little kids, new born infants, and working on computers...are in denial of the safety of others. Last time there, smaller dogs fought over squeeky toys and pet treats. I like the park and dogs playing together. Perhaps random officials going there may be one way to encourage folks. read more

This park would be 5 stars if it were updated and if some owners actually watched their dogs. The park is large with separation for large and small dogs. Artificial turf and decomposed granite surfaces. The turf needs replacing. Plenty of seating for people but many folks sit in a circle to visit, which is nice, but it means they aren't watching their dogs so they aren't picking up the poop. A few dog regulars are somewhat aggressive so shouldn't be there at all. Sadly, a dog was injured yesterday after being attacked by a larger dog. It happens because they are dogs but reactive dogs should not be at a dog park. For the most part, the people and dogs are friendly and have fun. read more

Great park but littered with feces because a lot of owners dont pick up after their dogs.

Biggest problem is the fact they allow non-fixed dogs into the park. I still go, but wait for the big dog fight to happen if someone brings in a female in heat and there are two or more males that are not fixed. Seen that happen once and it was not pretty at all. Second problem is the ignorance of the people who do NOT remove a dog harness with a handle from their dog before releasing the dog into the park. Dogs get playful and when playing a dog can get a tooth (or teeth) hooked onto a harness handle or worse, their nose stuck inside and the dog wearing the harness takes off. again, not a pretty sight to see and could end up with more than a dog fight. To be honest, in all my years, this is the first dog park i have ever seen that allows unfixed dogs into the park and is the first dog park where owners do not always remove a harness. First needs to be changed by the city that owns the park, second need to be understood the ramifications that could happen with a harness on a dog read more

Wowza! Was in town for a few days when someone told us there's a dog park a few miles away from where we're staying. Arrived and before we entered the double gates was in awe. We actually visited the park two days in a row and met a few really friendly folks who frequently take their dogs to this dog park. It's large, has a lot of seating (under shade and also out in the open), and lots of water dishes. Makes me want to move to this area just so I can take my dogs here often! read more

Actually went to this park earlier this year and was really impressed with how big it is and how clean it appeared. My dog had a great time and I met some really friendly people there. However, the reason for my three out of five stars is that the urine smell was overwhelming. I just read some recent reviews of how impressed people were of this dog park, but one of the reviews I read was what I mentioned with the urine smell. Plan on taking my dogs again today or tomorrow and we shall see. If it smells really bad again, doubt I would return. Part of the experience is being able to sit there without gagging... No matter how much my dogs enjoy it. Will leave another review after my experience. read more

We came down from Boise to visit family. We found this dog park and were super impressed! We have 3 dog and they were able to run and play with other friendly dogs. We met some really nice people. The park is very clean and well maintained. There are tons of tennis balls and a freeze-proof hydrant so the dogs are able to have fresh water. So glad we found it! read more

Very nice large, open dog park. It is divided into two sections. A larger side for the large dogs and a smaller size for the little dogs and/or puppies. The larger size offers lots of different items for the bigger dogs to climb on, under or through. Brought my dog here while visiting my mom and he loved it. It loved being able to mingle with all the other dogs as well as play in the snow, as we came here the morning after it snowed. There is a covered area with tables and chairs for the humans to sit at while their fur babies play. There is an area for dogs to get water as well. Oh yeah, most of the area is covered in fake grass. I did like how all the dog parents kept a close eye on their dogs and made sure to pick up after them when they went to the restroom. If you forgot to bring dog bags, they have several stations where you can get them as well as several trash cans to throw your trash away in. Parking lot isn't the biggest, but seemed to accommodate the people that came while I was there. I'm sure it can get really busy when the weather is really nice. read more

On our recent vacation trip through northern Arizona we took a day trip to Prescott with our black labs. It was hot, and on a recommendation from on of our camp neighbors, we visited this large and well appointed dog park. Piper and Coal had a blast here, and the dogs were defintiely friendly as well as their humans. Lots of water features here, and even a doggie pool to dip and play in. Plenty of running space on both dirt and artificial grass, and lots of agility tests for every shape of hound. Separate areas segregate small and large breeds, plenty of shade and tables for humans to relax...not to mention the history of this cool park. It is firefighter themed, so do a little research and you will find some cool stuff regarding its origins. Hints to its history come at the front gate. If you are traveling or live nearby, and you have furry four legged friends, do them and favor and stop here for a bark and a run. You won't be disappointed! read more

OK, if you like a dog park that has artificial turf over part of it. most people i met on my mid-morning weekday visit were nice, as were most of the dogs. typically the worst behaved dog belonged to an alligator (big mouth, small ears), but that happens everywhere, and is no fault of the park. better than nothing, and seemed to be well-maintained. read more

Hands down the nicest dog park I've ever seen. I sure wish we had one like this in the Valley! My dog went nuts with happiness as soon as we got here she was so overjoyed at the amenities. The parking lot is a little small, but the park itself if totally worth it, If you have the opportunity to take your pooch you should. read more

We love this place- our big girl can run and run off all her energy and the other dogs and people are generally nice. However, I believe the lights go out around 6 because I took her last night and it was like a tomb and dark at 8 pm. So it's clearly not open until 10- unless you wanted to let your pup run around the area in the dark with no one to play with. With it getting warmer, I thought it would be nice to take her after sun down... read more

It could be a really great park if it was cleaned more regularly and had a better drainage system typically when you go there is an overwhelmingly strong stench of urine enough to make you gag and I have heard of many dogs getting sick from the park I know mine did a couple of times it's really a shame that the city doesn't take better care of the park read more

Beautiful fire fighter themed dog park - note closed Monday mornings. Our dogs love visiting here. Lots of people seating and shade too.

First time here this weekend, and we loved it and so did our dogs! The park is so clean, well kept and human friendly too. Lots of seating for when you want a break from running around with the pups- benches, tables and Adirondack chairs. There is water and bowls for the dogs as well! One side for big dogs and one side for little dogs keeps everyone safe and comfortable. Side note: there is no bathroom on site so just keep that in mind when visiting. Dogs can pee anywhere, but you can't ;) read more

Went here this afternoon and took my little Rat Terrier mix. There's a large side for the big dogs and a small side for the little guys. We went to the small side were there were just about 3-4 dogs running around. Everyone was friendly and the place was very clean. The artificial grass was actually pretty nice considering how hard it would be to maintain real grass. The only two things that were wrong was the drinking fountains for the people and the doggies were not working. Also, I didn't see any restrooms nearby except for a baseball field on the other side of the parking lot and I'm not sure it was even open. I would definitely go back again when I'm in town. Going to bring my mom and her little doggie by as well as they live just a few miles away. read more

This park has been completely redone for half a million dollars by Beneful as a "Dream Dog Park" after Prescott resident Linda Nichols won a contest. It now has artificial grass, dog agility features and a replica fire truck for dogs to play on as part of the"Sirens and Hydrants".theme. Gorgeous place, and the dogs love it read more

What a great little dog park. It has two sides so if you want to go early and have your dog be alone it is possible. There's also tennis balls and bowls and other toys all over for your pup. They usually have water but seems to be shut off in the winter months so it doesn't freeze. There's also walking trails around the park. Great place! read more

This would get 5 stars except the park was surrounded by a field full of foxtail and it was invading the back sections of both the small dog and large dog sides of the park. We couldn't relax because our dogs kept wanting to get back in that area and we were constantly having to move them back into the main part of the park. The facility is very nice, but if they don't maintain it to keep the foxtail out it is a dangerous place for dogs. read more

Since retiring, I've been visiting this park on a daily basis for over a year.The facilities are adequate. The problem is too many people bring and then ignore their problem dogs. There is a wide range of what can be classified as aggression. I've been accused on an occasion of my three year old GSP being aggressive. When chasing another dog, she nipped, she did not bite or attack. I've seen other GSPs here behave exactly the same. I talked to the dogs owner and we sorted it out. Today, my dog and another GSP were playing together. Chase and be chased game. This got the attention of a Wolf Hybrid. She had the other GSP pinned with its mouth on its neck. I was int the process of getting my dog out of the vicinity as was the other owner. The other GSP owner kicked at the Wolf Hybrid to get it to release his dog. Fifty yards away, the owner of the Wolf started shouting every obscenity used by a sailor. Many of those at the park at the time (me included) got their dogs and left. If I'm not mistaken, Hybrids must not be off leash under any circumstances within the city limits. As harsh as this sounds, I don't want my pet used as a socialization experiment. This guy was clearly unhinged. He is also a regular at the park. So use at your own risk. read more

This is an awesome dog park. We drove by on our way through Prescott (me & my golden retriever, Tallullah). We turned around to visit the dog park, because she'd been in the car a while. The off-leash area is huge! I used my ball launcher, and she got a great run. All of the dogs were well-behaved, and the owners were friendly and responsible. There were benches, lots of bag stations, an area for hosing off your dog, water buckets for drinking, and agility training equipment. There were more than a dozen dogs running around while we were there, and they were all getting along famously. There is a shade ramada w/picnic tables. And sections of the fencing bore plaques in memory of people's pets. read more

this is a nice lil hangout for your dogs. no there isn't much grass, but this is arizona, and the grass here? takes way too much water to keep up, and also isn't that good for your dog, as mine used to munch on it when we lived here, and ended up with burrs in her stomach. lots of water, and plenty of shade. there were a few folks here who really just want to talk to you, and get to know you, and there are others who want to get up in your bidness, but I was okay with it. afterall? I'm on vacation. there was one little dog that had a napoleon complex, but everyone seemed to be okay with that. even though there's a small dog run WITH grass next to the big dog run. dogs playin hard, folks chattin it up. One lady jumped on us about our dog peein. she seemed to think she was pooin. she wasn't. there comes a point where the people are worse than the dogs, and thats why you lose a star. its pretty obvious when someone walks in with dog poop bags, that they're going to be pickin up some poop. give folks a chance. I find that if you go later in the day? you can miss the nosy locals up in your face. LOL cheers! read more

Pretty typical or average dog park. Good sized for the big/active dog side. The cutesy fire department theme upgrade courtesy of Beneful is cute but the hydrant hose fountains didn't appear functional. If you want to work agility with your dog there's that but no one seems to use it. Nice big shade ramada and we love that there are big water tubs for Lucy to flop around in. The artificial grass is interesting. Provides relief from hard ground but reeked like pee in one area. The park is right on Willow Creek Parkway built in a vast open lot so there's no natural ambiance. The people seemed friendly enough there but the place is not that appealing for nature girls like us. read more

Be thoughtful about bring your child or dog/puppy here. Their are good and fun dogs with thier owners who pay attention to their dog. Their are also aggressive dogs with owners who are not paying attention. Yesterday I watched a large pit bull push a child over and the owner did not correct the dog. This was not an accident. The parents were right by the boy and immediatly picked him up. I no longer take my dog because of a few aggressive dogs with owners who do not care. Also too many owners do not pick up after thier dogs. read more

My dog loves going to the dog park! We visit regularly approximately 4 times per week. Most of the dogs and people are friendly. Owners need to realize that when they come into the dog park with personal toys that they should plan to share with the other dogs. If it's a special ball or toy, it is best to leave it for play at home. There are plenty of bags available for clean up. Always keep a close eye on your dog. It's an awesome park! Great park!! New and huge, my dog is a greyhound and he can run for days but in this park he has plenty of space.

Pretty nice park. HUGE area. Small and large dog area (although everyone uses the big dog side, even teeny tiny ones!) No grass though. Lots of nice dogs and owners. It's quite smelly in places too but probably due to no grass or sprinklers. We were visiting from CA and all the owners were friendly and responsible. Great dog park. We met very friendly people here with like little dogs. My dog loved it. I believe they know the difference. I have been to other park and she won't run and play. The only thing this needs is bathrooms for the humans. Otherwise it would be a 5 star. read more
