A friend told me about this place as he knows the owner as they went to college together and stated that the owner has several degrees in Meat Science. I went there and looked at all the cuts in the refrigerator section and noticed that he has some meats at the perfect refrigerated temperature so that you can purchase it and go straight home and throw it on your grill. I also noticed that someone had ordered a special cut and wanted him to age it for them and he had it behind glass at the temperature needed for the aging process. Was cool to see that meat aging. I bought two well marbled steaks and the size of them were perfect. I paid $20 for both! In my opinion that was a bargain. I grilled my steaks and boy was the flavor tasty and tender. The steaks cut like a knife going through butter. Next door from the meat section he has a counter where they can prepare and grill your purchased meat. I tried this service and the steak was grilled perfect and the French Fries on the side were delicious. I don't know what type of grease they use on the fries but they tasted delicious and crispy. The workers in the meat department and the cook were so nice and friendly. Stop in and make this your family meat market and if you want a steak grilled for you this is the place.

I did not encounter any stringy or infinitely chewable meat, and the beef itself is quite juicy. The burrito itself comes with an optional sauce packet, but it tastes juicy enough to hold its own without it. My only gripe is it's smaller and less nutritious than one you could grab at Chipotle. The rice, beans, vegetables, and guacamole options at chipotle contribute to a larger nutritional profile than just beef and cabbage at this location. It's also bigger at chipotle. My overall logic is this: If you're looking for a good quality beef burrito, you can grab one here because the quality of beef is worth the price increase and size reduction when compared to Chipotle. You do have to time it right cause there are days where there isn't much left... but most of the time they have a good variety. I dealt with Jr. (Family business I assume) the day I dropped it off and he was awesome. He explained all the prices, cuts, mixes and said he would process anything I had brought in, price was per deer and additional for beef/pork. The wrapping job was great and everything was labeled clearly. The next day everything was just as they said, they washed out my coolers for me and loaded them in my truck (I tried to do it myself, but they insisted). IT IS CASH though. I had to go grab some at an ATM, wasn't a big deal. I was more than happy to. Everything was clean. The freezer had cow, deer, goat, and some really cool exotics. I was thrown off at first because the address is a house in front but their facilities were solid when I drove around. I'll be suggesting these guys to other people and will plan a stop in Tucson after hunting trips when able. Good job guys.

A meat market with pre- packaged meats (appear freshly packaged) at a reasonable price- several cuts and mostly packaged in bulk. My favorite part of the store. a large selection of fresh burritos for a snack or quick breakfast.., you get two decent size burritos of your choice ( and they have a decent selection; steak and potatoes, green chili, etc, etc, etc) and a bean burrito in a small ziplock bag with red and green salsa on the side. Staff are helpful in navigating non- Spanish speakers. Oh and just in case I had not emphasized my favorite part of the store already :p ...the burritos. Yummm.

Told me I was greedy and selfish. I got mocked for crying and was told that I should have known better than to be so selfish and they laughed when some of my food got stolen. The veggies were mostly okay, though. The grapes were all rotten. The third time I went, years later, I got one load and they gave me most of the things they gave other people but the volunteer handing out the paper towels literally threw them at me and said "I guess you have to get every free thing you can!" They gave me several boxes of dates. The veggies were good. The fourth time everything was rotten except a few only semi okay veggies. Less than 7 lbs total. I would have gotten a better deal from the grocery store. They were definitely playing favorites among both known people and for other reasons. The fifth and last time I went we ordered ahead and they were just going to load us up. They only loaded up for one family but three of us came. Then, after a lot of arguing, they grudgingly gave us three rolls of paper towels and two boxes of dates and called it good. I hear very good things about this organization. So, I am thinking it is more about the volunteers they happen to get in certain neighborhoods. The first time we went, we drove pretty far out of our way and it was great. The other times were all in the Sacred Heart Parking lot except one time when it was nearer to this area of town but not quite that close.

You pay $10 cash and take your own box, crate, or some grocery bags and load up 60 pounds of fruits and vegetables. Each Saturday they have a different assortment of vegetables which is posted on their Facebook and website. Usually between 7am and 10am. Program runs during produce season, November through August. Produce available, from my understanding, is whatever they couldn't market and is tagged to be trashed. Perfectly good stuff, some of the peppers may be funny shapes with a few blemishes, and some things may be closer to their spoiling point, but for the most part it's perfect. This weekend we went to the pickup at St. Francis in the Foothills church on Swan and East River. For $10 you were allowed to take 37 Roma tomatoes, 4 butternut squash, 11 pickling cucumbers, 3 mini watermelons, 11 yellow bell peppers, 11 orange bell peppers, 11 yellow squash, and 1 bag mini sweet bell peppers. The variety and amount of each veggie you can take always changes, but it always equals about 60 pounds. We almost always split our box with a friend because it is too much for our household of two. Totally worth it if you can get yourself up and out of the house early on a Saturday.
