Went during the tulip festival and it was fabulous. The tea and pastries were delicious. The owner is so personable and the property is beautiful.

The cup I chose

Loved being able to choose my own cup. Was a little sad that I couldn't choose another tea after getting the rooibos africano but I did like my tea. Loved the raisin cinnamon bread with Dubliner slice and slice of an apple. Croissant was from Costco and had a chicken salad mixture. Service was quick and there's three hotel rooms to see while waiting as well as two cats to pet. There is a map of the gardens to check out before or after tea time. However there's only one toilet for everyone to use. Very cute place. Wish there were more toilets.

The tea and scones in the tea tent

Gorgeous house and extremely well kept grounds and landscape. Amazing staff and great tea! The scones and fruit along with the tea was exceptionally well done. Loved the cucumber and mint water. Super refreshing. The scones are tasty. The boysenberry jam, the butter, and the lemon curd along with the fresh strawberries, honeydew and cantaloupe were all outstanding. Very peaceful and and serene area. The manor is located near farmland and gives you the real rural feel. The house is gorgeous if you have a few hours to relax and enjoy what these people offer you will not be disappointed. We had excellent service here.

Just beautiful!

10/10 recommend! Worth the 2hr drive from home. We surprised my mom for her birthday. Terry and the team are so welcoming everything was delicious. You get to pick your tea cup and your tea. They do seasonal Menu so now we have an excuse to come back. They take a picture so you can sign the guest book and she can remember her guest. They went the extra mile to celebrate my mom with a birthday card and a tea pot that plays happy birthday. The property is just beautiful and you can tell a lot of love and care goes into everything.

The array of lunchtime goodies presented (after the soup!).

Easy to recommend/refer a trip to Willowbrook Manor! I'd made my lunchtime reservation a couple weeks previous and driving to the estate, taking in the rural scenery, with the newly bloomed daffodils was a relaxing drive for me. Arriving on time for my reservation, the hostess shared Willowbrooks process, I found a seat and selected my tea. Be aware - there are LOTS of tea options to choose from (herbal, green, & black). Lunch included a wonderful butternut squash soup, a chicken salad croissant sandwich, perfectly textured scone and with all the other fresh goodies - I was quite glad I chosen to skip breakfast! I experienced and observed the owner and all staff in attendance as consistently attentive, courteous, engaging, kind, and respectful - even to me, as an individual customer and with nearby Mother/Daughter customers celebrating a birthday. Currently, Willowbrooks process is (it may change - so be sure to ask!) there are loads of different sized & styled tea cups and saucers ... you choose your set (fun!) and seat yourself indoors or outside in the Tea Tent. I chose an indoors window seat, with a view of the garden and mountains. They've also a small gift shop - are you interested in getting a small tin of the tea you tried or one you'd like to try? You can get it. You can also purchase scone mix, books, or note cards (at this writing). There's also an opportunity to purchase the tea set you used, to contribute to a foundation, should you choose. I'd read where Willowbrook Manor also has the ability to do bike ride rentals/tours, a few rooms for rent and 'glamping' ... I'll have to try that another time. But hey - don't wait on me, check it out for yourself! Summary: Ideal for all lovers of tea or Tea Parties - young or old; Even something romantic (I did see a young couple "dressed to the nines" celebrating something); IMHO - Possibly not such a good idea for younger toddlers as there are table cloths, which could quickly become a Toddler Hazard or a stressor for the Parent(s) [again, that's in my humble opinion - no offense intended, just an environmental "Heads up"] For me, my Willowbrook Manor experience was memorable, pleasant and relaxing.

bike ride through the country side

Just what a friend and i wanted to do on our road trip through Washington state and we were not disappointed ...tea and tour was quite delightful Scones were out of this world..served with lemon curd and jam Biking was fun with stops along the way to gather history If you are ever in the area or looking for something off the beaten path Check out Tea and Tour .com

Ahh, Whispering Firs. A tale of two sides, if there ever was one. My wife and I stayed here…read morerecently and had some very good experiences and thoughts...but also had some very negative things as well. We had originally booked two nights, but because of the negatives we ended up staying just the first night and checked-out early. Here's the tale of the tape: The Good: - Linda and Vic (the innkeepers) are very nice. Extremely friendly and easy to talk to, Linda made us feel at home straightaway and was great company and conversation during breakfast. - Speaking of, the food was really good. We had blueberry cream cheese pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Along side juice, fruit, and coffee/tea. Linda was also very accommodating toward dietary concerns too. - The property and view is gorgeous! Located up on a mountain area, Whispering Firs overlooks the valley and you can even see the Sound and Whidbey Island. - The house itself is warm, comfortable, and inviting. There's a beautiful deck on the backside that it multi-tiered and has a walking path around little ponds. This would be great for entertaining and lounging. The Bad: - To get there, you have to drive up a half-mile gravel road that is full of potholes and bumps. It's narrow and not something that a regular car can navigate quickly. Wish we had a 4x4 vehicle. - The bed in our room (the North Suite) was way too high. It sounds weird to say that, but at roughly 3 feet high, it was a struggle for my 8 month pregnant wife to literally climb in and out of. - There were no curtains on the windows...just blinds that didn't block out all of the light and sight lines. So, there was a big lack of privacy seeing as the windows looked out onto the deck. - This room is located right next to the breakfast room, so it is extremely loud in the mornings. Breakfast is normally served at 8:30, but our morning had a group that wanted to eat at 7:00. That meant at 6:30 things got rolling on the other side of the wall and we heard it all. Neither Good nor Bad, Just Depends on You Point of View: - There is a large collection of stuffed animals (the taxidermy type) throughout the house and bedrooms. A hunter's paradise...so may not be up your alley. All in all, this could be a lovely place to stay; but it just didn't suite us and fit our needs. For someone else, it might be perfect. In this review, I'm simply wanting you to be better informed that I was. Hope it helps.

Breakfast was made at the prearranged time convenient for us (so appreciated!) and was delicious and abundant. She sat and chatted with us during breakfast and is so personable. We had to depart on a jet plane that afternoon after our 4-day trip to the Evergreen State and had a few bottles of wine that we hadn't enjoyed so I offered them to Betty and she even suggested she could take their value off our bill, although I refused because they were a gift to her for our lovely stay. My friends also had difficulty sleeping due to the bed quality and the cold from the thin walls as well. Room quality: I got upgraded from the Lighthouse room to the Oar House which had two beds to choose from. It also was missing the main blind facing the outdoor seating area. Even with the thermostat at 70, I found myself shivering in the middle of the night due to thin walls (I could hear the cars zoom by from the back of the house in the room and the windows were single paned). The bathroom wasn't connected to the room, rather it was across the hall that required stepping outside into the cold, though still under a roof. There are no channels to watch, only DVDs which I counted there were 36 to choose from. There was no VCR to use but a bunch of videos to choose from. WiFi is not accessible in the Oar House so I was told to go to the room where breakfast would be served to get any internet, which was across the backyard into the other side of the house. Food: it is all frozen food that you heat yourself. There were Schwann's omelets, pancakes, sausages, frozen Greek yogurt and eggo waffles. The cereals available were mini wheats, raisin bran, corn flakes and others. There is a keurig that only had coffee available. Overall the view is beautiful and the decor is very nautical and unique with pictures of Oggie during his fisherman days also it is 5 min driving to the ferry. But it isn't worth the $135 a night due to poor sleep quality from thin walls and frozen food. At $50 it is definitely worth it just for the view itself but the location isn't in walking distance of anything except for the ferry.

In the morning we ended our trip with tips and a hug from Auggie- "once you stay here, you're family". Such a highlight of our trip, and we will be sure to be back if we are ever lucky to make it to this beautiful place again.

Another bonus of staying here was the breakfasts. The food is delicious and unexpected. I did not anticipate seared sushi grade tuna or oat pancakes that rival the best buttermilk pancakes. And the beauty of breakfast times is sitting with other guests along with Jill and Charles discussing everything from how it all began at the Kangaroo B&B to activities to do on the island. I have to say, with the exception of the amazing views from Mount Constitution, the water views from almost everywhere on the island and celebrating my wife, this B&B was a highlight of my trip.

Bakerview Bed & Breakfast in Langley. I knew once I drove in that I was going to have a comforting experience, but you really never know what to expect. I had the Sunset Room, the bedroom was very large with a Queen bed, wide open window to hear the birds upon arrival and lots of little comforts to make you feel at home. There were fresh towels, lots of big pillows, a cute dresser, reading lamp, big screen tv, comfy chair, and even big cozy robes to use! The connected bathroom had a large shower and a range of bathroom essentials in case you forgot yours. The west facing view from the bedroom was stunning, especially at sunset and sunrise, I made sure to be up early to gaze out my window and enjoy the sights and sounds. Breakfast time was lovely. Pat and her husband greeted me with a delicious smelling kitchen, I was offered coffee and juice to start my morning on the right foot. Breakfast included a yummy breakfast croissant, fresh fruit, a fancy yogurt parfait and an assortment of muffins. We enjoyed light conversation over breakfast with a beautiful view of the landscape, and we even got to see a Pileated woodpecker on the bird feeder which I've never seen before, so exciting! I would definitely suggest Mt. Bakerview B&B if your planning a visit to the Fraser Valley. The location is close enough to the city and far enough away to get the peace and quiet of the countryside. We go to different places at least four times a year together, or on our own. One of the gals heard about White Branches on IG. I was surprised I never heard of the place. I've researched every place that's serves afternoon or high tea. It was at least a two hour drive each way for us but it was so worth it! When you first walked in the ladies said to me that this is my kind of place. That's because I'm a musical theater actress and when they saw all the items you can purchase that I wear they knew this place was for me. Then walking through the Alice in wonderland looking through the walking glass towards the theater. I felt at home like I wanted to step on stage and sing. I was overwhelmed by all the mask, tiaras, facinators, and gifts you can purchase because I wanted them all. I did spend a pretty penny, but I know that I'll wear them to all my events. But let me tell you about the food. So the last time we went to Victoria BC had high tea at the Empress we were all disappointed because it's not the way it used to be. The food was not impressive. Come to find out they have a new chef. Now White Branches...it was only Holly and Matt who is the owner working. The savories were delicious, the bread was so fluffy, the desserts were every single favorites of mine. They must've known I was coming. Every Mmmm that came out of my mouth. I could eat all my desserts because I was so full so I took them home for my snack. But the best part were the scones. My friend and I had to bring back the scones with the crunchy top that was sweet( I can't remember if it was peach) and soft and warm in the middle. So I took a couple home, my husband and one of my daughters ate them. Don't leave any for me...ugh! But my daughter who has traveled around the world because she's a flight attendant said that it was the best scone she has ever had. I hope Matt keeps that scone because next time we drive up we might order more to bring home. We are planning a spring time tea where will stay the night, see the tulips, then tea at white branches. Btw talk about tea, they had every flavor we loved. Also compared to a lot of the high tea places by where we live. White Branches prices are more reasonable that driving two hours away is worth it.
