Really enjoyed my two night stay at La Conner Inn. The room was super spacious, tall vaulted ceilings, and a nice king sized bed. It was the perfect treat after a long day. The bathroom was quite spacious, as well. Checking in and out was a breeze. I enjoyed the light early breakfast provided. Just something about this place. Rustic but comfy. Artistic but down-to-earth. Marvelous folks at the front desk, Kay and Erin look for ways to make your stay homey. Fireplace roaring, nice casual continental breakfast 7-10a with premium coffee and tea, half and half and even the room coffee is Arabica. Off street parking in the back and walking distance to First Street where all the main action is. The beds are comfortable with a number of pillows to find your comfort level perfectly. Great overlay quilt, too, to beef up the down comforter, if needed. Great heat control and a gas fireplace for those extra comfort touches. But the Inn has a secret. Connected to the south end is the Oyster & Thistle Restaurant and Pub. Class act place and the bar's well gin is Beefeater's. Made points with me. Had a sixty day dry aged Strip Loin last Friday night that was one of the best steaks I've had in some time. Perfectly prepared and grilled. They do a killer Caesar as well. So you've got choices as to where to stay in La Conner. But trust me, it's hard to beat the perfectly situated La Conner Inn. read more

Nice bed and breakfast in bucolic La Conner. Was passing through La Conner before making my way to the San Juan islands and the County Inn was a lovely place to stay. I had a king room overlooking the street and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The solid wood shutters block out all street noise and light, however, the walls are fairly thin and you can hear other occupants walking the hallways or talking in their rooms at night. The continental breakfast was more impressive than I was anticipating - with fresh fruits, housemate granola and baked poppyseed and blueberry breads. What a quaint & lovely place! We only spent one night. I wish we had booked two instead. Unfortunately, they were totally booked. I can see why. Rooms are big. Nice gas fireplace. Very romantic! Free breakfast in the morning. And our group booked the large meeting room for a reception and then for the entire day for our retreat and then later a bunch of us played Trivia. Rooms are spacious. Good size bathroom. Big enough table for me to spread out the laptop & papers! Room was a bit warm at night. Didn't need the heavy blanket. Next time we'll book two nights! read more

Kudos to the La Conner Country Inn for providing new alarm clocks with built-in power outlets. I realize that this may seem like a minor amenity but it's helpful, as everyone has at least a cellphone and maybe a smartwatch or laptop to charge during their stay, and during my prior stays they only had power outlets close to the floor, and we all know how inconvenient that is. Also, it's nice to have new digital locks on the doors instead of bothering with a clunky key or even a key card. You just have remember your four-digit code, but it shouldn't be difficult as you're given an envelope with the code written on it. read more

We came out and stayed at the Country Inn in our quest for photographing eagles. The establishment, from the outside, looks very quaint and a possible home run. Our room was 200.00 for me and my wife. I suppose I was expecting better amenities for that price. It's so-so at best. I realize prices in all realms have skyrocketed, but this place is neither a decent value or very comfortable. Our experience at the Inn was marred by a giant wasp that descended from the ceiling, trying to sting my face. We were offered a different room but switching at 11pm at night with nothing more than a terse apology from the front desk was uncalled for. I expected more professionalism, hospitality and some means of compensation for the inconvenience and potential harm the experience could have caused us. On top of this, the continental breakfast was the least appetizing and poor presentation I have ever seen. There were no hot items at all and the bagels were still wrapped in plastic. Cozy place to stay. We went for a retreat....front desk help (older woman) in the morning was very rude rude and abrupt. The late afternoon and evening staff were very nice and accommodating. We were booked for the second floor,but due to a foot injury, I requested a first floor room after checking in. They switched my rooms the next day (including taking all my personal belongings) down to me room. I should have stayed on the second floor. First floor is very noisy....although, while on the second floor...we could hear the plumbing through the walls. The 2 bedrooms units are quite large...fireplace and tv are included. Beds are comfy...bedding is nice and warm. Rooms are clean. The room attendants didn't completely clean my bed on the first day...so I was quite disappointed. I found a dirty towel (which I laid across my pillow because my hair was wet) on my bed..and part of the blankets weren't made up. The coffee amenities were not refilled daily. I didn't have any of the morning breakfasts or the afternoon cookies that were offered, but it suited the group I was with. The restaurant attached to the Inn...Oyster and Thistle, is a small over priced restaurant that charges for everything. I was so disappointed that it was a dinner choice during our stay. The food was not flavorful at all. I think the dinner at this restaurant was my biggest disappointment in my entire 6 night stay. read more

We have stayed at this Inn, in the same room, same weekend for a number of years. There is a big event, the annual fundraiser for the Museum of Northwest Art, that we attend and participate in on this weekend. This morning, I awoke with a temperature and incredibly ill. I can barely talk. Called the hotel because we absolutely need to cancel and they would not budge on the charge of the first night - $229. It is their policy that if guests cancel within the 48 hours of the reservation, they charge. The room is the most desirable room - private entrance, dog friendly, patio. No doubt they will book it easily. We've been good, loyal customers. What? They want to get the whole hotel infected with my virus? You know, a person does not plan to get sick. So not right. We stayed here on a business trip. The pros: The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was large. It is close to the main area with shops and restaurants. The cons: The windows did not have screens, so any attempt to bring in fresh air also brought in bugs. The alternative was a large, portable air conditioning/heating unit that took up a lot of room space. It sounded like a freight train passing through the room when it was running. Instead of curtains, there were large wood shutters. They added to the overall dated look of the room. The linens and towels were very poor quality. The mattress was old and uncomfortable. The chairs at the dinette felt as though they were going to collapse. They were very rickety. The fabric on the ottoman was worn through. The tub had mold on the caulking. The breakfast bar could use fresh pastries instead of Hostess brands. This place needs a major remodel. They need to upgrade the mattresses, towels, and linens. They need to replace the windows with modern windows that open with screens and install air conditioning/heating units under the windows. read more

Went there for a conference this past weekend with some ladies and we had a wonderful stay! The front desk staff was attentive, took the time to answer all of our questions regarding how to get back and forth to the conference venue, gave great recommendations for food and attractions, and went above and beyond in providing refreshments. The rooms were clean and spacious (we had a group of 6 gals staying in 2 rooms), the bathrooms were set up perfectly for sharing, and the beds.... oh, the beds! Heavenly pillow-topped mattresses, and they provide plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The fact that they had a wall fan provided was HUGE - all of us need "white noise" to sleep but forgot to bring one of our own. It was as if they could read our thoughts! The only *EXTREMELY* slight caveat would be that there weren't very many electrical outlets, but I think three women trying to simultaneously blow dry/straighten hair/charge phones and ipads, etc, was user error and no real fault of the hotel. I just would have brought a power cord if I had been warned ***here's your warning! ;)*** I'm so thankful that we had such a great place to rest our heads at night, and have told my husband that he's obligated to come back with me so we can enjoy it together! read more

Unfriendly staff on phone and in person at check in and at check out. I specified in writing when I booked online and again at check in that I was a senior for the senior discount. At check out I was charged full price. Again I stated I was a senior but was told because I did not advise them before hand in writing or at check in that they could not give me the senior discount. We were a party of two and there was only one coffee packet in the room. There is no microwave. The room was uninviting and a wall was connected to the restaurant where we heard laughing and heavy socializing until after 11:30 pm despite as guests we were advised to be quiet after 10 pm. I do not recommend staying here. The Wild Iris is delightful but they had no availability. No comparison. read more

My husband and I stayed recently on an anniversary trip. The Inn was clean and comfortable. It was very full since it has been chosen a the place to stay for a group of quilters. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Inn is conveniently located to the restaurants, the board way, and shops. The hotel said pet friendly but not all rooms were pet friendly. They made an exception for us but hours later they told us someone complained about my dog barking (who barked two times because the neighbor shut their door loudly). They made us pack all our stuff and move to a new room. The new room was more expensive but only had one bed instead of two, and they made us pay to upgrade to that room. They had also just put down fresh manure right outside the room which had an obvious smell whenever we opened the door. The pet room was supposed to come with a pet welcome package with a dog bed and a tennis ball but it did not. There was no parking and we had to find a spot on the street. First off, the La Conner Country Inn and Channel Lodge are two different hotels apparently owned by the same entity. There is another listing on Yelp combining the two into a single entry. My wife and I stayed at the Country Inn last night. We are both very happy with our stay here. The staff is nice, the hotel is well kept up, and the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Booked 1 night as a Groupon deal for a brief outing for our 40th wedding anniversary. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and the beds really comfortable. Loved having a fireplace to cozy up to. The only downside is the TV was a small 27" and pretty much too small to sit in bed and watch and the lighting is not very good, needs to be brighter. I googled it and the Lodge and Inn came up, the online reservation system told me they were both full but a phone call told me otherwise. We chose the Inn because it was less expensive. We booked our room using booking.com for two adults and one child. The room was ok and Bedding was nice. Bed seemed to be full size and was small, when I stated this, I was offered a cot for $20 a night. Staff answered questions but were not very welcoming or helpful. I had to ask how to get to our room. Granola tasted like milk with trail mix. My husband stated that he felt like we were at a retirement home or in an old church setting especially at breakfast. I stayed at the La Conner Country Inn for the first time on 8/23/16. Previously, I have stayed at the La Conner Channel Lodge, which is under the same ownership, and has rooms that are right on the water. I tried to book a room at the La Conner Channel Lodge, but they had no rooms. Initially, I was disappointed, but as it turned out, I now have a new favorite place to stay in La Conner. Although the rooms are not on the water, they are just a couple of blocks back from the heart of downtown La Connor. The rooms are much more spacious than those at the Channel Lodge, but less expensive. I was told that the property has brand new beds and mattresses and it was true! The Country Inn provided me the best and most restful night of sleep of my entire trip, even though some of the places I stayed were more expensive. Rae, who was working the desk the night I arrived, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The next morning, the staff allowed me to check out, yet leave my car in their parking lot while I spent a couple of hours checking out the downtown shops. Parking is very difficult to find in downtown La Connor, so even if I had had to pay for the privilege, I would have been extremely grateful. As it was, this was just one more perk in staying at the La Conner Country Inn. My entire experience at the La Conner Country Inn was so wonderful that I didn't even miss having a waterfront room. We really enjoyed our stay here, and will definitely be back. The room was big, clean and smelled nice. Bed and chairs were comfortable. It was quiet and the fireplace was a joy. Even though we tried numerous times the TV never worked,for more that a minute or two. And we spent more that an hour fiddling with the A/C to get it to work and ended up calling the front desk. They came in 10 minutes and helped but the unit was from the 90's and was not great. So I would stay again just not in the summer. read more

first off, the employees were kind, friendly, helpful. that's the good part. But..... The rooms are the problem. We arrived during a heat wave and they have these funky portable a/c unit things that seem more like swamp coolers than a/c. You can't open windows because no screens, but plenty of bugs. Rooms are dark and mold and mildew abound. They even use some kind of scented conditioner on the sheets. UGH! Both my roommate and I have allergy problems and had bad times in the room. Outside in fresh air, no problems, but inside, wheezing, snuffly, coughing, etc. This place needs total renovation. Oh, and each night sow bugs were crawling in at the gap at the bottom of the door, which wasn't fun, but our neighbors two door down had an even bigger adventure: they opened the door in the morning to get fresh air, and a frog hopped in and hid under the bed!! read more

I can't imagine anyone not giving this Inn a 5 star rating. We arrived a couple of hours early, but our room was not quite ready. We were offered coffee, enjoying it by the fireplace and local newspapers to read. It was especially entertaining to read the "police blotter". The room was especially roomy and well kept. The beds were really comfy as were the two arm chairs. Bathroom was very large and a nice counter and sink area that was outside the toilet and shower. The cathedral wood ceiling and fireplace really added to the comfort of the room. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for things to do, and places to eat. The Inn is within walking distance to the quaint downtown area that has antique shops, handcraft, gift, and lots of places to eat. There is Thai, Polish, Mexican, Italian, and .....
