We watched the parade that must have had everyone in town participating! We are not from a small town. This was fun for us. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and we had a room with a soaking tub and a giant shower. The pull-out couch was "ok" according to my son. One thing I will say that was missing was a common area indoors for people to meet up and socialize outside of the restaurant. We have traveled often with these families, and we like to find areas to play cards and spend time together. The food at the restaurant was good. We had a poor experience with one of the rooftop bartenders. He looked like he had been there a long time and really had no interest in answering questions or engaging with the town. His younger companion bartender was friendly and welcoming. Advice: In the evening, it cools down tremendously on the rooftop, so you will need blankets even though there are a couple of fireplaces for ambiance.

Val gave us a full tour of their gorgeous brand new stables, and introduced us to all the horses. We didn't have time for a riding lesson on this trip, but now we know to set some time aside and will be scheduling a lesson for next time. We had booked their least expensive room, but on our arrival Henri informed us that we'd been upgraded to our own private cottage at no additional charge. The cottage has an open floor plan, like a studio apartment, and came equipped with a full size fridge and gas stove/oven. The kitchen cabinets were well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and even essentials like olive oil, so you could easily prepare your own meal (but I definitely recommend Nicole's!). The living room contained a really lovely chess set and a few other games, as well as DirectTV and a stereo. We had our own private hot tub out on the front porch. We really enjoyed sitting outside and looking out at the pond. The whole environment is so serene. The only sounds are crickets and birds. The main thing that really sold it for us was the amazing hospitality - we felt like family. We were only here for one night, but absolutely fell in love with the place and are sure to return. All the little details have been thawed out from the entryway right to the bathroom. We are in Friday Harbor Friday. Harbor has a reputation and it is not inexpensive to be in this area so don't be surprised by price stickers if you shop around. You get what you pay for here they give you a lot of class along with a good product. I would like to stay longer if I could, but our time is limited and we have to go home and the weather has been perfect.

I know it's summer. Still. I wonder: Was this an old army barracks not-so successfully repurposed to serve civilians? Seems likely. Oh well. During your stay you can get complimentary passes to a couple gyms/pools in town. You either make the walk or drive to them however. I do enjoy an attached gym and pool. That was the only downside. You can also get a free pass for a yoga class! The yoga studio is two stores down and seems so fun. I would have scheduled a massage here as it was super reasonably priced for 60 or 90 minutes, but the last booking was nabbed by the time I made up my mind. Also, free bike check out if you happen to be here during nicer weather. Too cold for us. In the room you'll find quality bath amenities, free snacks and drinks, coffee maker, water kettle, teas, and a decent sized fridge. The bathroom had ample towels and nice shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers (simple human). There was a hair dryer (not the best) and a lighted makeup mirror. If you've forgotten something (toothbrush/paste, razor, etc) they have some convenient supplies at their front desk per the in-room info folder. The only thing you'll want to note is that our sink/mirror was outside of the shower/bathroom if that matters to you or your roomate. Very clean and appreciate that pets are not allowed here. Would definitely stay here again. Parking: Ample street parking adjacent to the hotel during our stay.

We double checked the address and couldn't believe it. We called and canceled, apologized, and went somewhere else. We didn't get even half our money back. I know it was the last moment... but it's not near any water, very small, and no sign. How can you feel safe walking in that? I don't know- all were top notch. When we travel we try to stay with local folks, rather than the typical chain hotel. Charter Boat BB was perfect. We dropped in on Friday night and went out for a weeks sail in the San Juan's. My husband forgot a shirt and Faith met us at their coffee/breakfast/lunch place (America's Cup- right at the dock) with it. Thankful! A nice bottle of wine was waiting our arrival. The room was huge, bed and all amenities so comfortable. Coffee maker with a little fridge (containing juice and real cream for coffee!). Plentiful towels and wonderful locally made soaps. And then there's the breakfast! Eggs Benedict, omelette, new potatoes, yogurt, fresh fruit, and the most delicious handmade pastries. All made by Jennifer. You can't go wrong at this mother/daughter owned local business. You'll love it.

Oh, man. This is a tough review to write. First off, there are so many things I really like about…read morethis hotel. The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.
