My chocolate lab laid down for his last nap six weeks ago. Creve Coeur Animal Hospital was with us for his entire life. He struggled with so many different allergies. We were there for monthly injections, prescription food, and medicated shampoo. I joined another veterinary clinic in an effort to get a better price for a dental cleaning. On my baby's last day of life, I called both veterinarian clinics and described his symptoms. The other veterinarian clinic offered for me to drop him off and leave him there while they tried to figure out what was wrong with him. If I had gone that route, I would've missed my last day with my dog. Creve Coeur Animal Hospital took his symptoms seriously and got us right in. They were sympathetic, informative and unbelievably patient. They walked us through the most difficult decision with grace. Since our last visit we have received paw prints and a certificate acknowledging a donation made in my good boys honor at the university of Missouri school of veterinary medicine. Creve Coeur Animal Hospital isn't just my vet. They were friends and family for my sweet Hobbes. You helped me give Hobbes 9.5 years of comfort and health. Thank you Creve Coeur animal hospital for all the years of love and care. It'll be a while before I'm ready to open my heart again but I have no doubt that my first new puppy visit will be with you.

Please fire or demote whoever you have at reception-they do not need to be working in a field where you talk to people because clearly they don't know how. After a few weeks we went in for a wellness check & for them to take his stitches out. Again... we thought everything was good. They charge for unnecessary things on the bill which was whatever. We just wanted to make sure our dog was taken care of no matter the cost but they seem to use that against you. We noticed there was a stitch left in so we quickly take him back up there in hopes they would get them all out this time.. Flash forward a few weeks of him "no longer having stitches" and we see there's a few still in there... we're a bit upset that they missed them especially since it's practically healed now & we took him up a 2nd time to get them out. So we call and say they missed a few & she quickly cuts us off and say "this happens sometimes" ... I'm sorry this what? It shouldn't happen at all. Sounds like negligence & bad vet techs trying to work quickly to get more $$$ out of us. Seems like they can only handle small incidents with your animals. If it's something serious maybe go somewhere else. If you like mistakes, having to take your pet up multiple times, or like spending LOTS of money come here !! We sure don't so we'll be taking our business elsewhere. *we did take him to the kirkwood location one time in between visits at Manchester & kirkwood gave us a better experience just that one time than Manchester has this entire time. They're nicer & kirkwood will actually listen to you instead of cutting you off as you speak*

It was a Sunday night and I was leaving the early the following morning and the kennel would not take my dog. THANKFULLY Fox Creek was OPEN and could get him in! It was such a relief. The staff was kind and welcoming to us. Highly recommend them if you need animal care. BTW, in case this ever happens to you, 24-hour emergency animal hospitals don't provide vaccinations. So many lessons learned and prayers answered!

We have taken a total of three dogs there and experienced their skills and professionalism at all stages of our fur babies lives. We went through the long difficult treatment of Rocky Mountain spotted fever with our second labrador at KAH. That treatment requires frequent vet visits, yet our girl was always excited to be there and never afraid. She even allowed Dr. Hormuth to remove fluid from her joints WITHOUT ANESTHESIA! If that's not a superpower, I don't know what is.

I now live in South City and still have pledged my loyalty to KAH! From three different dogs, we've come here for a multitude of reasons, and each time we leave satisfied and happy. We know our pups are in good hands! Last week I brought Eddie, my dog, in for his yearly check up and vaccinations. Our appointment was at 8am, and we were running a bit behind. I called and they assured me it was not a problem. We arrived 7 minutes late with our apologies, and they got is right in. They gave Eddie his wellness exam and vaccinations. Dr. Riguero is so calming and gentle with Eddie. He feels safe with her, and Eddie is an anxious little pup. I voiced some possible concerns with his back legs and she checked it out. They also did some blood work and we were done! I also recently just got pet insurance. While KAH doesn't work with them directly, they happily provided all the necessary documents I needed to make a claim. They also provided Eddie's prescription to send to Chewey. We're super thankful for the great care we always receive here, and if things go right, we'll definitely won't be back for another calendar year. But if we do, we know we're covered!

If you guys have tried taking your pet to an emergency clinic, you know rare it is that a hospital will give you a specific time to come. Usually they tell you to come wait in a parking lot for an unknown amount of time for at least 3 hours. I usually take my cat to the humane society, but they were closed from the snow. Thank goodness this clinic was open. The biggest difference between VCA and the humane society is that when you call VCA, you speak directly to a person at the front desk. At the humane society, you are put on hold for a long time, then you talk to someone at a call center who then puts your message in the system and then you wait for the vet to eventually call you back. VCA is very accessible and available. We saw Dr. Bruemmer and she was so kind. She explained his status clearly and comforted us saying we did everything we should have to take care of our cat. They sent us home with pills for the cat to take, which is difficult because they always spit it up. The technician offered that we could bring our cat in and they could give him the pill. I think it is so wonderful that they would offer to do this. When my cat's condition worsened, they sent us to a more specialized hospital and the vet contacted the new vet telling him we were coming and discussed my cat's condition. Unfortunately, my cat didn't make it. Dr. Bruemmer, who I had only seen for 2 visits and known for 24 hours, called me after finding out my cat's condition and wanted to see how I was doing. She spoke positive things about my cat's character and said we could talk or answer any questions I had. She is the most caring vet I have ever encountered. She legitimately cares about every animal she cares for even though she wasn't his primary vet.

After my cat's last rabies shot he appeared to have a reaction and I have been reluctant to let my…read morecat have further rabies shots. Around the same time my cat was diagnosed with severe kidney disease, which is common in older male cats and they often don't show symptoms until it nearly kills them. Therefore the cause of his extreme lethargy may have been due to kidney disease and not the rabies shot. Fast forward 18 months. The previous vet clinic had closed and my cat's records were transferred to VCA Bal-Coeur, I might have to board my cat and I either needed a statement that my cat could not medically have a rabies shot or else he had to have a rabies shot. i took my cat to VCA Bal-Coeur for a wellness exam, shots and a nail trim. The doctor and the vet tech were both very nice, and my cat was calm when they did his weight and external exam. By law they had to give him a rabies shot but they also gave him antihistamine and antinausea meds before the rabies shot just in case. I brought them my cat's fecal sample for analysis, And they were also to do a blood draw for analysis and clip his nails. They then took the cat and his carrier to another room for the remainder of the exam. When they brought him back 30 minutes later, they said that they were unable to draw blood or clip his nails and I would have to bring him back for another visit and premedicate him with gabapentin. It was clear my cat was very anxious or frightened. Many people have remarked on how unusually laid back my cat is. I have always been in the room with him during the entire wellness exam. As long as he's getting treats and he can put his head against me, he's always accepted a lot of probing, shots and nail clipping. So my question to them was what happened when I wasn't there and I really didn't get a good answer except that they said they could tell when he was "done"and they didn't want to further traumatize him. If he was traumatized by 3 shots, I'm not taking my cat there again to be traumatized by a blood draw, a distemper shot and nail trim. Also VCA charges a lot for traumatizing a cat - they gave me an estimate of 762,90 - 953.63 for everything they were supposed to have done. The charge for what they actually did - the wellness exam, fecal analysis and rabies shot was $358.70.

Our 12-year-old corgi, Miss Marley, all of a sudden started nonstop vomiting and would not eat. We took her to her normal vet, they ran some blood tests, x-rays, and got some fluids in her but she did not improve. That was when we were recommended to come here. She stayed the night, got more fluids and other meds and they did more imaging. They couldn't quite figure out what was truly wrong with her without aspirating her liver but we said no since the vet was worried about her not clotting. He suspected she had lymphoma but could not confirm. We proceeded with the best course of action he recommended but sadly, she did not improve. She stayed at VSS for 2 nights and 3 days and we visited her every day. Sadly, on the last day she did not seem herself and still would not eat and we had to make the difficult decision to let her go. It was so heartbreaking but the staff allowed us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye and to be with her one last time. They took care of everything while we were in the privacy of one of the rooms so we only had to leave the building after. I am very grateful to the 2 vets (Doctors Sutton and Sherman) and the many wonderful staff who took great care of our girl and were so respectful to us during her end of life stage. It was so sudden and I still struggle while I write this review. If you need a specialist for your fur babies, one with caring professionals, this place is one of the best.

I called to make an appointment, left a voicemail and filled out an online account. No response. I told my vet I hadn't gotten a response, so they called and said it was an emergency referral. We were then put on a waitlist. A few weeks later, they had an opening, which we eagerly booked. We went, and they concurred with my vet's insight to run more tests, but stated they didn't have time that day to do the tests and told us to come back a few days later. They emphasized that we needed to come in early in the morning so they would have time to actually run tests on her. We booked the first appointment opening they had for us and came on time. My dog's mass ruptured the very next day, a few days before her second appointment with VSS, weeks after we received the emergency referral from her primary care vet. She passed away before we could even get the tests done. This was an emergency referral and we were pushed around and dismissed. This was not treated like an emergency by VSS. We left a voicemail telling VSS what happened so we wouldn't be charged for missing an appointment (sent to voicemail again) and they didn't even have the decency to call us back. I am obviously heartbroken about the loss of my girl, but to see the lack of care, urgency, and empathy by this facility was so disheartening. She died back in March, and I was hesitant to say anything, but I think others should know our experience here. I will never trust my animals here in the future
