This is one of those places that when we first arrived, we thought it was beautiful, and were so excited.
This feeling lasted the 90 seconds it took me to walk from my car to the restaurant. every other place we have camped, the office is the first building you see, many have attached stores, or restaurant, so we figured this was the place to stop.
The restaurant owner, Thor I later discovered, quickly told me he was not the owner, the owner had left no maps, and I should dive around until I found our spot. I had no phone number for the owner, and my emails were sporadically answered. We walked around trying to find the site, and 45 minutes in, we found our site.
At this point, we decided to give the restaurant another shot. It wasn't his fault the owners didn't communicate that this restaurant on their property wasn't an office.
Dinner was a few frozen food options, and pricey. wouldn't have minded if Thor had been nice, we would have even taken pleasant. We thought maybe being paying customers would help. Nope. He was not kind.
I emailed the owner and asked where we were supposed to get quarters for laundry. Several hours later she wrote and said she would bring some. Too late, we had already gone to a restaurant down the road, where they were polite, the food was good, and they were happy to give us quarters. Thor said no.
My daughter also had an incident with Thor while she was doing laundry. She was sitting in the car, as the laundry room and toilets are disgusting, and Thor came out, pounded on her window and told her to stop using his WiFi, it was rude. first of all, she wasn't, but second of all, when did it become rude to use public Wi-Fi?
She left her laundry, and came back in tears. That was the end for us. I told the owner what happened via email. I specifically said, I want to give you a chance to respond before I leave a review. I heard nothing. An, I'm sorry you were treated this way would have gone a long way. But, nothing. And poor communication from the owners was not good.
Other weird things about the RV park, that we hadn't encountered:
The public accesses to the water is maybe 12 feet of shore, not sand. No dock, but this is where boats go in and out, as well as people who want to sit in the water at the edge. Every time a boat put in or out the families playing in the shallow area had to move all their stuff to one side. and that happened several times in the three hour period we were paddle boarding.
The quiet hours are not enforced.
Site prices are high for what the spots are. Very small and open.
