Very nice and immaculately clean hotel just outside Rhinelander. The staff is young and friendly! Wow. My husband and I were very impressed by our room. It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It even had a small hot tub. The thing I liked most in the design was a shelf for the suitcase - not a wiggly stand, but a whole sturdy shelf. We will go back. read more

This is going to be long and you might not believe it because I sure can't. The GM, Elizabeth (Liz) is atrocious and shouldn't be the manager of anything. Much less someone in hospitality. She kicked my elderly parents out of the hotel for being "troublemakers". They're in their 70's and my dad has cancer and sleeps a lot. My dad decided to take a bath in the tub and the handle came off so the water wouldn't stop running. My mom asked if they could call a maintenance man and the clerk said no because it was too late and the maintenance man is 85 and probably sleeping. (WHAT?!?!) So apparently the clerk let the water run all night and that was blamed on my parents. So instead of assuming the handle was broke to begin with they implied that my 75 year old dad developed Herculean strength and ripped the handle off the wall on purpose. It was in no way their junky faucet. Might I add they paid $275 per night for this dump. Due to the sleeping maintenance man, the rude clerk switched rooms for them, not without making comments to them about it though. The next day their room key kept not working so they asked the desk clerk why it kept happening and he yelled "I don't know, why don't you tell me"? So my mom said yeah we're keeping a giant magnet in my purse and his wallet. They said they wanted to talk to the manager about what had been happening so my dad went to the front desk later when the clerk said she would be in. So he did and that was Elizabeth the GM. She greeted him by yelling at him "You're the one that broke the tub" before he even got two words out. She wouldn't let him talk and started yelling at him that if they weren't satisfied they should have left the first night and no one was holding them prisoner there. She didn't let him get two words out before she continued on a tirade. When he finally could speak he listed what was wrong and also informed them that their milk was rotten and was curdled. She yelled how do you expect me to know that? Do you think I should open each milk container to check them? Then my dad said no, you could check the expiration dates though. This sent her off into a complete meltdown so she sarcastically looked up the customer service number to the milk manufacturer. Then my dad rolled his eyes at her and that was the end. She yelled he was rude and a complainer and a troublemaker AND KICKED BOTH HIM AND MY MOM OUT OF THE HOTEL! She said they had until 11 to get their things and go. (This actually happened. SHE KICKED THEM OUT FOR BRINGING ISSUES UP TO HER- THE GM!!!) So he went up to tell my mom and pack. So then they both went down and my mom wanted to know who her boss was and apparently she doesn't have one. She had to look up a random 800 number and gave that out with her business card. My mom continued a conversation with her to figure out what her problem was and my dad came up and she started yelling at him and my dad told her in his over 50+ years in having a job in customer service she was the rudest most unprofessional person he ever encountered. Then she tried telling my mom that he rolled his eyes at her and called her stupid. I'm sure my dad DID roll his eyes at her and IMPLIED she was stupid (because let's face it...) but would never have sworn or called her stupid because that's not who he is. She said she would take one night off the bill for them and expected them to take her word for it but they told her they wanted a statement proving that. Well, that blew her mind to have to print a statement so that took forever. What Elizabeth doesn't know is that there were people in the lobby that heard all this go down and approached my parents after they heard her abusive behavior and said they heard the whole thing and were also in disbelief. My parents have their information and will use their witness statements if necessary because she is now trying to cover her ass by saying it was my dad who was calling her names. My parents called me in shock and disbelief that she kicked them out for being "troublemakers". So naturally, I called her because they are my elderly parents and I had to hear if she treats all of her elderly guests that way. Well, that didn't last too long because she got crazy with me and said my dad rolled his eyes at her (probably true) and was swearing at her and calling her names. Completely FALSE. She's trying to do damage control and knows she messed up, she then screamed to me ( like an actual crazy person) that this is none of my business and then hung up the phone on me. So "hi" Elizabeth if you're reading this- YOU REALLY MESSED UP. You told my parents you don't care about bad reviews so here it is. You kick elderly people out. You shouldn't be in the position you're in and you're just a rotten human. read more

This is an extremely nice hotel in Rhinelander. It is clean. The beds are comfortable. I love the lobby with leasther sofas and a warm fireplace. They offer a free breakfast and it was fairly standard fare, but good. read more

Stay was from 2/11-2/12/22 , by Rebecca Buran. Had to come up for a family emergency. Had to switch nights for my reservation and was upgraded (from a regular room to a whirlpool room) for free! Yay for awesome staff ! Very Family friendly . Front desk guy was super nice and organized . Updated hotel with flavored coffee/tea in the lobby available 24/7. Free passes available to the nearby YMCA for workouts ! Hotel seems to be used a lot for family reunions and kids sports team parties/stays. Bad aspects : 2 of the 4 pillows in my bed had other peoples hair on them. Like obvious 10 inch long dyed hair. Awesome. Shower/Tub also had hair in it , whirlpool had crusty white stuff , bonus!. When I mentioned the whirlpool issue to the front desk, they said they'd take 20$ off the room and brought up cleaning supplies for me to wipe down the tub, so thank you again to the awesome staff! Very loud kids running through hallways constantly , people having lots of loud conversations in the hallways , and could overhear the conversation in the room next to me. The noise at least stopped by 11 pm. In the morning I found out they actually took 30$ off the room price , and the breakfast presentation was clean and full of options . Staff again , super friendly. Overall a good experience. read more

What an outstanding hotel! The entire front desk staff - especially Liz and Adam - will go out of their way to make your stay the best! The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The hallways are wide. There is plenty of parking and free shuttle/cab service to the airport. And the best part of it all... The little Alpine apple cider packets they have for the guests 24/7. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone travelling in the area. I stayed for over a week and hope to be back as soon as I can! Nice stay, reasonably clean, and was a little cheaper than other AmericInn's in the area. Easy check-in and -out. They do have an elevator despite only having 2 floors (other locations do not). Good news for anyone staying after 3/13/23...they had a note at the front desk that they were putting new water heaters in on that date. We had hot water although I couldn't manage to get a consistent temperature for the shower. Amazing water pressure (which ended up making its way out onto the floor as well). As with most hotels the sounds of the heat and refrigerator kicking on woke me up throughout the night. But I must say, I heard very little if any noise coming from the hallway. Breakfast was as expected, nothing spectacular (although no hotel breakfast has ever knocked my socks off). Mostly cold or grab n go items. They did have eggs, sausage, and waffles for hot options and had a toaster available for bagels/muffins. I wish they (and all hotels) would have fresh pastries (perhaps from local bakeries) as opposed to packaged ones. Also, to let there be no confusion on arrival, yes they literally share a parking lot with Culvers. If you're traveling west and pass the Culvers entrance then you've gone too far. And for those who aren't used to them, be prepared, there is a roundabout just to the west of the hotel. Overall, good stay and would likely stay again but definitely need to find a local bakery for breakfast. read more

Definitely an okay to spend a few nights in Rhinelander. Clean beds, free breakfast, friendly staff, and complimentary bottles of water available to guests in the evening. Nothing particularly special about this place, but it does the job. If you're looking for a gym it sounds like they'll give you a pass to the YMCA up the street. I will warn, my shower made a screeching noise (not fun, but bearable) and the alarm in the room next to mine woke me before 5. Nobody died as a result of either those things, so I think Americinn Rhinelander is doing just fine. read more

Two days ago we stayed at this AmericInn - our first stay at an AmericInn. We wrote on our hotel customer satisfaction survey that we thought the bedside chair needed cleaning. We received a very nice email today from the AmericInn manager, Erin Skinner, apologizing for our concerns during our recent visit. She wrote: "... I have investigated your concerns and will take the appropriate steps to ensure that the challenges you experienced do not happen again. The staff will also be made aware of your comments and will be very involved in the corrective action taken to prevent future issues; this is certainly a training opportunity for our housekeeping team. I would like to offer you a free night's stay with us in the hopes that you will give us another chance to show you our commitment to your comfort and satisfaction. Simply mention this email when making your reservation and bring a copy of it along when you check in." Now, THIS is a good example of a business that is concerned about meeting or exceeding the customer's satisfaction and expectations. In fact...I think this is way above that! It is an honest approach to sound business practices; we should see this in all businesses that serve customers. How often are we disappointed in a hotel, restaurant, etc... express that concern to management who offers no apology....yet hopes we'll stay again? That's happened to me on several times..For that type of businesses...I WON'T be back. And for the AmericInn Lodge & Suites in Rhinelander ...I'll go back whenever we're in Rhinelander! read more

Stayed at the Americinn on recent business trip for one night. The place was clean, quiet and nice all around.

This is a nicer hotel than some of the others and a short parking lot walk to Culvers. Pick this if you are going for a chain hotel.

We have stayed here quite a few times. Within the past year at least 6 times.We are always treated right. Clean rooms nice breakfast selection and friendly staff. The pool is cold at times but always fun. It's nice sitting in the lobby by the fireplace enjoying complementary coffee or hot cocoa. read more

Went there Saturday night. The upfront hotel guy was not friendly. He seemed like his job was a chore each time I saw him. He gave us no information about breakfast and check out. I had to find that out by reading information in the room. Breakfast was very standard, but clean area. Hotel style, room style, and other area style was suited to what you want for this area. Whirlpool was warm and sauna was fine, but NO towels where left. Our room did have a nice big screen tv. and a lovely couch in it. On the not so great side..... Mildew / mold in shower, toilet roll holders not clean, long black hair in my towel, blanket in drawer not clean and lamps dusty. The worst thing had to be the bed tho, it was so hard I only could sleep three hours due to it being so uncomfortable and hard. A night later I'm still in pain from the bed. Not the only one that had a hard time sleeping in the beds, heard a few others in the hotel saying the same thing. read more
