We love Wills Park!! They have everything you could possible want in a park: Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, 3 different playgrounds for the kiddos, baseball fields and a beautiful walkway (which was newly paved). There's even a horse stable and they have horse races on the weekends. It's beautiful!! Wills Park also offers a great seat for 4th of July Fireworks!! There's free parking at all times. There's also a dog park and a nice covered Pavilion to just sit answers relax in the shade! I'd highly recommend this park if you're in the area. read more

Nice baseball fields... the fields we played on in TX were terrible so these really are a huge step up! Smooth base lines, well maintained fields, and just flat out well taken care of! There is a swimming pool here, a great park area, lots of trails, tennis courts, and more. This is a very nice large park area that is obviously well taken care of! Willis Park is a very nice park located just a couple of miles from downtown Atlanta. They have a very nice playground for the kids, baseball fields, tennis courts and so much more. They have a nice walking path that goes around the park. This park even has a disc golf course! It's a great place to spend a couple of hours on the weekend. read more

I just came back from the pool. I've been on the Alpharetta sharks swim/diving team since I was 9. The rule younger than 18 can't go backwards. I was told a new regulation that nobody can. I saw this man going backwards so the lifeguard who was wanting me to do more tricks took me to the management. The manager said the guy going backwards was special needs. I have anxiety/autism. Her reply was that he's been here a long time and has to do it in his routine. Overall the pool isn't the problem, it's the manager that gave a guy permission to go backwards but denied a diver who's been in competitions doesn't seem fair read more

What a great park. I can't speak to the ballfields, but the playground is Wonderful. There is a section that is built for the littles and my 18 month old loved it. Unlike the other park we often go to, there is plenty of shade and that also provided some great bird and squirrel watching for my son. There are several places for parents to watch and I felt comfortable joining him for the bigger slides too. We avoided the sand box areas, but those seemed to be a hit with the older kids. At the end of our trip, we walked over and watched a little of a baseball game. My son cried when we had to get in the car (not a fun way to end the visit for me, but a true compliment from him to the park). We will be back here soon for sure! ** also I noticed the ice cream truck came here twice during our visit, so you may want to bring a couple dollars... just in case. read more

Will's Park is a great place to go for a walk, picnic, or play time for the kids. They have several playgrounds and baseball fields as well as many other amenities. Just note that bikes, scooters, and motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trail and are subject to a fine. read more

This park has one of the best playgrounds I have seen. Lots of interaction and fun path and obstacles for the little ones to conquer. There are areas for toddlers and some for older kids. There is a nice soccer field where you may be able to find teams having their play offs. There is a tennis ground as well. Shelters are available for barbecue. There is a nice jogging path too which makes this a perfect park for every activity. Lots of kids always keeping the park happening. There is also a swimming area attached to the park. read more

If you're looking for a place for you, your children, or your pets to let a little energy loose, Wills Park is the place to go. I've been coming here for years and have been consistently impressed with this park. One of the first things you'll notice is the awesome playground. Wacky World, as it's called, is a large, creative space for kids to run around and play without parents having to worry about losing sight of them. There is only one way in and out, with a seating area right at the entrance/ exit so parents can be sure their children stay in the play area without having to follow their every move. There is plenty of equipment, even on the days that the playground is busy. My one suggestion to the recreation department is that they maybe replace some of the older equipment, as it is a little run down. It is still a lot of fun, though, and isn't a safety hazard, so not a big deal in my book. There are plenty of athletic fields to play on when they aren't reserved. When they are, you can watch a game or even play on a league if you signed up! Many different teams throughout the city play at Wills Park, so you can find one if you look. There is also a great pool that was renovated within the last year or so and it looks awesome! In the summer, they host swim meets on certain nights, but other than that, it is open to the public. I'm not sure if they still charge a small entrance fee, but there used to be one. There are lifeguards on duty and the entire facility is very nicely done. Perfect for a hot summer day. In addition to their main ammenities, there are plenty of running trails, frisbee golf, an equestrian center, snack bars, and a dog park. They host events such as rodeos and a Fourth of July fireworks show that I love attending. This park has just about everything you could want! It is also very safe and in the many years I have been going here, I have never encountered anything that made me feel unsafe. I would encourage everyone to get outside and go to Wills Park! read more

I absolutely love their dog park! Its super spacious and is well kept. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my pup play and roam free with a bunch of his furry friends! There is a lot of things this park can offer as well, such as walking trails and different sport courts. They also have a public pool, I'm def. skipping that but I'm sure this would be great for families. read more

WILLS PARK, ALPHARETTA Today was a beautiful day to be in the park. It was slightly overcast with gentle breezes. I have been in this park on previous occasions but only under the pavilion for a picnic. This park has great amenities, an equestrian center, dog park, tennis courts, a great pool, athletic fields, play areas for kids, open areas for kite flying and games, and great walking paths. If you walk in the right direction, you will get an accurate account of your distance based on the posted signs. However if you decide to make your own rules and walk in the opposite direction, (oops!) you will not only feel like a knucklehead but you will find that you are just walking in circles. Never the less, you still get a great workout. May favorite aspect of this park is the huge wooden, can't miss play ground that has lots of towers and peepholes. It has great integrated seating placed throughout so that parents can view their kids from every possible angle. This area has a lot of thoughtful design elements such as the seating, the climbing wall, even the loose natural materials used to pad the ground. It is safely designed for ages 5 to 12. Another favorite aspect is the no tobacco sign indicating that there is to be no smoking in the park. While I think it is sad to even see that such a sign is necessary, I know that there are people who smoke in parks because I witnessed this earlier this week and I thought of it as very disrespectful of the environment, (Sawnee Mountain Preserve). My least favorite aspect of the parks, the filthy bathrooms that were reminiscent of those pre-Quik Trip roadside stops that were just disgusting. Someone needs to get to work! Maintenance also needs to figure out how to turn off the perpetual faucet that is running outside the bathroom because it is definitely wasting a lot of water. Great park for the entire family just make sure to take care of your personal business BEFORE you leave home. read more

Wills Park is where people who love their dogs bring them to run wild and free (inside the fenced-in dog areas). I don't have a dog (yet), but after seeing how happy the dogs at Wills Park are, it makes me want to get one. They have these large enclosures where dogs can run, jump, play and wrestle with each other. Owners can take them off the leash and let them go wild, which is like every dog's favorite wish. I went to Wills for the first time today for a nice walk with my 17-month old son (in a stroller). He got to see and pet so many "goggies" at this park and it was the highlight of his day. I think I'll soon be on the hook to get him his own goggy. Wills Park also has 2 playgrounds. One is called "Wacky World" and looks like a giant wooden castle fortress. There are different sections of this playground for smaller and larger kids. I took my son to the little tots side and he had fun crawling over the equipment, sliding on the slide and swinging on the swing-set. The other parents/kids we encountered were very nice and friendly, too, making it a nice place to meet people who are at the same stage of parenthood that you are. We didn't use them, but we saw several baseball fields in the center of the park and what appeared to be a horseback riding facility on the south side of the park. I'm sure we're going to be back again in the near future, at least while the weather is so nice. read more

Swim lessons- My older children have taken lessons here for years. This year, it is being badly managed. Classes are ending halfway through. No one is monitoring the inexperienced teen teachers. Not worth the money. Go somewhere else, where they will care! read more

A nice long paved trail that loops around the horse stables, athletic fields, playground, basketball courts, dog park and Frisbee golf course. There are some hills which adds a bit of a challenge (at least for me) when running, but it's not so much that I feel dead when I'm done. Two times around and you've run a 5K...which always feels good. :-) I've also been here for picnics at one of their many covered table areas and my small group has used one of the fields for a pick up game of kickball. Pretty much anything you need in a park they have it. read more

I meet friends here on a pretty regular basis. It's marked well and stroller friendly! There are a few rebels that ride their bikes on the paved trail, but for the most part, bikes and skateboards are rare. It's a safe, safe park to frequent. read more

The pool is very nice , family friendly, and a lot of space. I've taken my son there a few times the last week and decided that I would get a summer family pass . My address is in Alpharetta but apparently my taxes are Johns Creek (I rent so I don't know ) they wanted to increase the cost of my family pass by $100 . I spend a lot of money in Alpharetta and have coached multiple sports in the Alpharetta parks system . I guess it's time to move away from them and over to somewhere else . read more

This park has so much for everyone's needs. I live in east cobb and I make the trip here to walk the park's trail a few times a month with my kids. It has a horse area, dog park, pool, ball fields, tennis courts, disc course, multiple playgrounds, and walking trails. What I love the most about this park is it's multitude of bathrooms. As a walker and a father bringing multiple young children having plenty of bathrooms is a plus. And for public bathrooms they are VERY clean. I'm not sure if this is a county or city park but who ever owns it is doing a top notch job. read more

I love wills park. This past weekend we had an old school get together, we bought a grill and some food, and Frisbees and had a BLAST. we got to the park around 2, set up, bartered with someone who had already rented out a pavilion for a table :) and then set up. we had a steady flow of people in and out. We also were able to go and play frisbee on one of the non occupied fields. it was really nice to have the playground and the bathrooms so close for the many of us now a days with little ones. And its in down town, close to the grocery store, and gas station for last minute pick ups :) read more

This park is pretty well-known, bu at the same time, I feel like it's a hidden gem. There are two sets of playgrounds. One is a really cool, castle-looking one at the entrance, and there is another one farther into the park. Both have a lot of shade depending on what time of day you go. The winding path/trail is not that great, but it does take you to some cool places. As mentioned, that second playground, a basketball court, and an area of horse stables. If you go on a Saturday and you're lucky, you'll see a horse or equestrian show, which is really cool. There are also I believe 6 or 8 tennis courts, never full, so if you have a hard time finding where to play in Alpharetta, Wills Park is a good bet. This is a fun park and definitely one you should try to check out often. read more
