Cool baseball stadium in Wilmington. We decided to check out a minor league game here because the Blue Rocks are the Nats high A farm team. A good way to check out the top prospects for the Nats. The employees and Rocky the mascot were super friendly. The customer service dude tracked down Rocky for me so I could meet him and take a pic. I've been shut down at other stadiums for wanting to meet the mascot by unfriendly staff. My experience here was awesome.

blue rocks games are a nice time for families or going out with friends to enjoy a ballgame. the stadium itself is beautiful and normally very clean with good views of the field from all over. rocky, the coolest mascot in sports, is all over and interacts with fans all game long (as you can see in my picture). it's also very easy to meet both the home and away players before/after the game which is cool. food and drink prices are equally as unreasonable as other professional sports stadiums, so i don't slight them for that and all staff members i've talked to over the many years have been nice. great stadium, great atmosphere, and free parking

This was an awesome experience all around! 1. Parking is free. By in large when it comes to professional sports of any type where can you still get free parking? Every MLB team hoses you down and at least every MiLB stadium I've been to has charged me something be it $3 or $5 etc. 2. Deal on Living Social. The Blue Rocks run a promo every summer for a few games and the prices are dirt F-ing cheap. When combined with a 20% off flash sale promo on Living Social our four seats were $9. $9 for four seats ten rows behind the plate. Unreal! 3. The prices for concessions while high compared to real world pricing are not bad when compared to professional sports team pricing. Five dollar Italian ices which are huge or you can mosey up to the Toasty Roasty for a crab filled grilled cheese and tomato soup. Not a ton of choices overall but it's good enough. 4. No seat is a bad seat. This place is a mouse fart in terms of stadium size. Maybe the capacity is 6K which for me is on the smaller side as I'm use to games in Reading (PA) where for AA they can bring in 9K or Allentown (PA) where it's 10K. 5. No asinine stuff like the IronPigs do in Allentown where every two seconds there has to be an annoying product placement ad or a noise or a walkup song a strikeout song or a bleep, bloop, fart, screech or some other BS. There are still the typical things you would expect to see at a minor league baseball game it's just not shoved up your ass like they do in Allentown where they treat you like you have ADD and need to be entertained at all times lest I don't know, you actually have to watch the game on the field? With that here's the downside. Even with a Living Social promo running they listed the attendance at 3K and change which in theory would be half filled. No F-ing way was the place half filled. Maybe and I mean maybe there were 2K in the park and I'm pretty sure it was less than that. We had no one in our row or the row in front of us or the row in front of that. Our entire section (H) had maybe twelve people in it. Most of the seats in the first row in every section behind the plate were either empty or were last second fill ins from scouts with radar guns. I guess this team lacks a committed fan base or maybe it's because they're currently the worst team in the Carolina League or again, maybe it's because no one cares? Either way this is sort of a throw back to what minor league games were like maybe fifteen years ago before teams started to try and build tax payer funded mini-major league palaces or decided that every game had to be a giant ad push for you to buy something. No, here it's still mostly about the baseball and while I get that's a dying way of life/dying way to experience the game it's the way it was meant to be experienced and I know that I would have no problem paying the $11 per ticket for the same seats we sat in because everything was 1st class. We will be back. (If you like to foam there is plenty of SEPTA and Amtrak action beyond the CF-LF wall.)

Enjoyed the Blue Rocks game last night on a perfect baseball evening. For those Yelpers new to minor league ball this is completely different experience from a major league game. Compared to a Phillies game here are some of the biggest differences- Cheaper! - Just about everything is less. Reserved seats are $9. (You can purchase online) Parking is free. Beer is cheaper with the usual drafts at $5.75. Food is a little less. You're closer to the action! - This is big and much different from a major league experience. Here you are very close to the game. Be aware of foul balls. Silly things between innings! - Lots of crazy little contests/races/etc. This is great if you have kids. Fireworks! - There is a great fireworks display after a game virtually every week! It's usually on Friday and definitely a big draw. Check online for the dates. Iron Hill Brewery! - There is a location of this great chain right next door so you can combine a ball game with quaffing a microbrew or two. Give it a try on a pleasant summer night. You won't be disappointed.

Been here a couple times and we love the hometown feel. Great place to watch baseball up close. Were here over the 4th of July weekend and they had a fantastic fireworks show after the game. Its right off the highway and super easy to get to. Getting out is another story with thousands of people all going the same way, took us about an hour to get out of the parking lot. Parking is free which is great and ticket prices are super low! Overall the prices for everything are lower than typical baseball fields, great food too! We will definitely come back to catch another game soon!

Cute stadium. Not a bad seat in the stadium. Cashless, food was reasonable. Great for families.

This is probably my second favorite minor league stadium. The first being Lakewood. It's a great place to see a Carolina League game.

They're one of the…read moreolder teams in the G League, having been founded in 2007 and beginning their first season (2007-08) that same year. That season, the G League expanded to 14 teams from 12 and, for the first time, formed three divisions: Central, Southwest, and Western (the year prior, it was Eastern and Western). At the time, the Blue Coats were known as the Utah Flash and were based in Orem, Utah, just north of Provo and about 45-60 minutes south of Salt Lake City. The Flash would only play in Orem for four seasons before operations were suspended and the team put up for sale due to financial difficulties. That was in 2011. In 2013, after two years of inactivity, the Sixers purchased the team, moved them to Delaware, and renamed them the Delaware 87ers after the year 1787 (the year the Constitution was created). The team was renamed again in 2018 to the current Blue Coats moniker after the Delaware regiment during the American Revolution. The Blue Coats are based in Wilmington, the state's most populous city. While in Utah, the team made it to the playoffs three out of four years. They advanced to the D-League Finals (D-League was what the G League was called then) in 2009. Since moving to Delaware, the team has not made a single postseason appearance. Only twice have they finished the regular season above .500 and barely at that. They went 26-24 (.520) in 2016-17 and 22-21 (.512) in 2019-20. The Blue Coats play in Wilmington's 76ers Fieldhouse, south of downtown, across the Christina River. The arena is relatively new, with construction fully completed in April 2019. With a seating capacity of 2,500, 76ers Fieldhouse is currently tied with the Greensboro Swarm's Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse for the second-smallest venue in the G League. (The South Bay Lakers' UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California is by far the smallest in the league at 750 seats.) The Blue Coats have rostered several players that have spent a decent amount of time in the NBA. They include Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Rodney Carney, Earl Clark, Jared Cunningham, Baron Davis, Richaun Holmes, Danuel House, Amir Johnson, Kendall Marshall, Emeka Okafor, Nate Robinson, Mike Scott, Tiago Splitter (2014 NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs), Von Wafer, and Christian Wood. Former Georgia Tech stars Gani Lawal and Mfon Udofia also suited up for the Blue Coats in addition to former Wake Forest center Doral Moore.

In 2020, the Union advanced to the semifinals of the MLS is Back Tournament. The team then went on to win the 2020 Supporters' Shield for having the best regular season record, as determined by the MLS points system. The Union finished with 47 points on the season with a 14-4-5 record during the pandemic-shortened 23-game season. It's been a steady, consistent rise for the Union over the last four seasons under now seven-year head coach Jim Curtin. In 2017, the Union finished 16th out of 22 teams. In the years that followed, the Union finished 11th out of 23 teams, 5th out of 24 teams, and 1st out of 26 teams (2020). At this point, all that's missing is an MLS Cup win. Curtin has been head coach of the Union since June 2014. Brazilian forward Sergio Santos, who made his first appearance with the Union in 2019, led the team in goals (11) during the team's Shield-winning season. French forward/winger Sebastien Le Toux leads the time all-time in goals (57; 2010-2011, 2013-2016). The Union's home stadium is the 18,500-seat Subaru Park. The stadium was built for the Union and opened during the team's first season in 2010. It originally opened as PPL Park. Unlike Philly's other major pro sports teams' venues - the Eagles' Lincoln Financial Field, the Phillies' Citizens Bank Park, and the 76ers' Wells Fargo Center - Subaru Park is *not* located at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Instead, it's about a 16-mile, 20-minute drive down I-95 South in the city of Chester, on the other side of the airport. Numerous pay parking lots surround Subaru Field. For a map, pricing, additional info, and to pre-pay and reserve parking in advance, visit https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/stadium/parking. But the real worst is they don't share team rosters, claiming privacy issues, while USABL, PG, ASBA, Ripken and Cooperstown all share them. There were clearly players older than allowed but we had no way of verifying if the players in the lineup were on the roster. I could have shown up with a kid 2 years older and no one could have proved he was not of age. One coach even let is slip that one of his guys was in HS, yet competing 13u. He wasn't Doogie Howser.
