Thought process on my review: Prior to arrival: 4 stars for celery bobblehead giveaway, -1 because there are only 500 Upon arrival: 5 stars because I got the celery bobblehead. Prior to the game: 3 stars because the netting goes all the way down both baselines and you can't walk around the stadium. During the game: 4 stars, a good number of promotions, good sightlines, plenty of foul balls to catch. After the game: It was an exciting comeback by the visiting Renegades (my own High A team as a Yankees fan) and the moose came to visit our section, so a grudging 5 stars. But the celery should also have come and visited us! Just saying for next time. read more

Cool baseball stadium in Wilmington. We decided to check out a minor league game here because the Blue Rocks are the Nats high A farm team. A good way to check out the top prospects for the Nats. The employees and Rocky the mascot were super friendly. The customer service dude tracked down Rocky for me so I could meet him and take a pic. I've been shut down at other stadiums for wanting to meet the mascot by unfriendly staff. My experience here was awesome. read more

blue rocks games are a nice time for families or going out with friends to enjoy a ballgame. the stadium itself is beautiful and normally very clean with good views of the field from all over. rocky, the coolest mascot in sports, is all over and interacts with fans all game long (as you can see in my picture). it's also very easy to meet both the home and away players before/after the game which is cool. food and drink prices are equally as unreasonable as other professional sports stadiums, so i don't slight them for that and all staff members i've talked to over the many years have been nice. great stadium, great atmosphere, and free parking read more

This was an awesome experience all around! 1. Parking is free. By in large when it comes to professional sports of any type where can you still get free parking? Every MLB team hoses you down and at least every MiLB stadium I've been to has charged me something be it $3 or $5 etc. 2. Deal on Living Social. The Blue Rocks run a promo every summer for a few games and the prices are dirt F-ing cheap. When combined with a 20% off flash sale promo on Living Social our four seats were $9. $9 for four seats ten rows behind the plate. Unreal! 3. The prices for concessions while high compared to real world pricing are not bad when compared to professional sports team pricing. Five dollar Italian ices which are huge or you can mosey up to the Toasty Roasty for a crab filled grilled cheese and tomato soup. Not a ton of choices overall but it's good enough. 4. No seat is a bad seat. This place is a mouse fart in terms of stadium size. Maybe the capacity is 6K which for me is on the smaller side as I'm use to games in Reading (PA) where for AA they can bring in 9K or Allentown (PA) where it's 10K. 5. No asinine stuff like the IronPigs do in Allentown where every two seconds there has to be an annoying product placement ad or a noise or a walkup song a strikeout song or a bleep, bloop, fart, screech or some other BS. There are still the typical things you would expect to see at a minor league baseball game it's just not shoved up your ass like they do in Allentown where they treat you like you have ADD and need to be entertained at all times lest I don't know, you actually have to watch the game on the field? With that here's the downside. Even with a Living Social promo running they listed the attendance at 3K and change which in theory would be half filled. No F-ing way was the place half filled. Maybe and I mean maybe there were 2K in the park and I'm pretty sure it was less than that. We had no one in our row or the row in front of us or the row in front of that. Our entire section (H) had maybe twelve people in it. Most of the seats in the first row in every section behind the plate were either empty or were last second fill ins from scouts with radar guns. I guess this team lacks a committed fan base or maybe it's because they're currently the worst team in the Carolina League or again, maybe it's because no one cares? Either way this is sort of a throw back to what minor league games were like maybe fifteen years ago before teams started to try and build tax payer funded mini-major league palaces or decided that every game had to be a giant ad push for you to buy something. No, here it's still mostly about the baseball and while I get that's a dying way of life/dying way to experience the game it's the way it was meant to be experienced and I know that I would have no problem paying the $11 per ticket for the same seats we sat in because everything was 1st class. We will be back. (If you like to foam there is plenty of SEPTA and Amtrak action beyond the CF-LF wall.) read more

I've been going to games here for 30 years. Took my family to April 16ths game. We are used to a good park experience but came away disappointed. There was no popcorn to be had at all. Hot sausages were only being served from the 1st base side concession stand but were not available until the 4th inning. The concession stand on the 3rd base side was poorly managed all day. Only 2 registers were open, creating a very long line the entire game. They were being attended by a group of teenage girls who were more interested in goofing off and talking than waiting on customers. Lastly Fuscos Italian Ice had a stand which was nice. But didn't have any straws or spoons to offer forcing customers to have to wait for the ice to basically melt so it could be consumed as a drink. Enjoyed the Blue Rocks game last night on a perfect baseball evening. For those Yelpers new to minor league ball this is completely different experience from a major league game. Compared to a Phillies game here are some of the biggest differences- Cheaper! - Just about everything is less. Reserved seats are $9. (You can purchase online) Parking is free. Beer is cheaper with the usual drafts at $5.75. Food is a little less. You're closer to the action! - This is big and much different from a major league experience. Here you are very close to the game. Be aware of foul balls. Silly things between innings! - Lots of crazy little contests/races/etc. This is great if you have kids. Fireworks! - There is a great fireworks display after a game virtually every week! It's usually on Friday and definitely a big draw. Check online for the dates. Iron Hill Brewery! - There is a location of this great chain right next door so you can combine a ball game with quaffing a microbrew or two. Give it a try on a pleasant summer night. I'm becoming an aficionado of minor league baseball. Right now it's a much better bang for your buck than the Phillies. Consider this... Two front row tickets for the Blue Rocks - $22 Dinner for two adults and one toddler - $32 Parking - Free Total of $54. Phillies game... Two of the worst seats in the ballpark - $40 Parking - $16 I've already spent $56 and haven't eaten a thing. Keep in mind I was far more willing to spend that 4 years ago when the Phillies were relevant. I am not a fair weather fan. I love the Phillies more than anything. But in this day and age where entertainment dollars are at a premium for anyone with a family, the Blue Rocks are a worthy option that won't kill your bank account. And by the way, they make awesome grilled cheese sandwiches with crabmeat, roasted corn, and fresh lemonade here. That combo includes chips for $16. Plus as I was walking out in the parking lot in the 7th inning (my toddler can only take so much), I happened to find a foul ball just sitting in the parking lot. I now love it here. read more

Been here a couple times and we love the hometown feel. Great place to watch baseball up close. Were here over the 4th of July weekend and they had a fantastic fireworks show after the game. Its right off the highway and super easy to get to. Getting out is another story with thousands of people all going the same way, took us about an hour to get out of the parking lot. Parking is free which is great and ticket prices are super low! Overall the prices for everything are lower than typical baseball fields, great food too! We will definitely come back to catch another game soon! read more

On a vacation day that seemed to be turning into a bit of a dud, things suddenly turned around thanks to the Wilmington Blue Rocks. From the outside Frawley Stadium doesn't seem like anything special. But inside you'll find some real fun and entertainment. We were luck enough to see the home team score quite a few runs which meant several appearances from Mr. Celery. The fact that Mr. Celery even exists, and that it's just so random to have someone dressed as a stalk of celery, is worth 5 stars right there. I was also lucky enough to score a picture with team mascot Rocky Bluewinkle. (I may have an unhealthy obsession with mascots.) As it goes with minor league teams, tickets and concessions are cheap compared to the majors. And here in Wilmington you won't even have to pay for parking. Be sure to check out the team store for a souvenir of a day you won't want to forget. read more

I loved coming here and catching a game during a weeknight. The way Frawley Stadium is set up, there is no bad seats in the house. I would get two of the expensive ($10) seats for the price of one thanks to the deal they have with RecycleBank. We are always able to get right behind the 3rd baseline dugout. What I really enjoy about minor league baseball is that the guys are playing their hearts out for a sport they really enjoy, not some highly paid athlete who doesn't care. I also enjoy that the club has random things happening between every inning, like some contest with people in the crowd or throwing shirts. Everytime the Blue Rocks score, they have Mr. Celery come out and dance to music by Blur. Its random and it makes no sense but its awesome. They give out promotions all the time. I was really sad when I missed the Joe Biden with a baseball hat bobblehead. Here's hoping for next year!! read more

This was a nice experience. For a Class A team, the stadium is amazing... high tech, lots of food options, and plenty of seating. I'm surprised they don't try to get a Double or Triple A team here... they are close enough to Philly to draw interest. The only drawback (if you can call it that) is that it has a less intimate feel than I have come to expect from Class A ballparks. Also, I was really excited to try the cheesesteaks but I was not wild about the cheese sauce on the sandwiches. It made for tasty dip for the Crab Fries, but it's not good for a cheesesteak. read more

Kudos to Deb, Bob and the rest of the staff who run the Cafe and watch over the "VIP" club level seats. What a treat to have a private box. Food is just OK (Tough "steamship round of beef" and oddly salty chicken marsala). Baked Ziti and salad were fine. Popcorn and soft pretzels were a hit with the kids - and of course, having Rocky Bluewinkle visit the box is a BIG hit. We love the Blue Rocks. I wouldn't recommend this place. Parking might be free but the food sure isn't! It was $4 for bottled water, $5 for a small fry and $3.50 for a hot dog. It's minor league baseball! It's not the Phillies. We went on a rainy, week day for an early game. There were so many open seats and we still waited in line for an hour to get food. We spent more time in line than watching the game. It would have been horrible if it had been a sunny weekend and the stadium had been packed. We won't be back. read more

However it pales in comparison with other minor league experiences in the region like Reading and Lehigh Valley. Solid family environment! I had some great bonding time with my son watching a baseball game at Frawley Stadium. He loved Rocky and Mr. Celery, and he was also a big fan of all the silly activities that went on in between innings. Overall it was a great time and we plan to go back soon. I didn't give it five stars because while game tickets are cheap, everything else within the stadium is very expensive. Also, the concourse area is extremely crowded, just not enough room. read more

The games are usually alot of fun but they could be alot more fun and less irritating if: The BR management did not insist on wasting time between innings with these silly games and contests, We came to watch a ball game not watch some kid balance a cup of water on his head. It wastes time and serves no purpose. There would be alot less congestion and more efficient traffic movement on the concourse if the concourse was not jammed with tables and displays from a plethora of causes, and organizations. Move the beer coolers back 10 feet. Clear these tables and displays to the front sidewalk. It took me 25 mins to walk to the mens room for christsakes. All because there was not enough room for the crowds to get past due to the tables and displays jamming up the concourse. Food, souvenir, and beer prices are bordering on highway robbery but that's the case at any ballpark. I usually take in 2-3 BR games a year, would come to more if they'd get their act together. read more

A few disappointment tonight.. first we paid $10 for the nasty, stale, tasteless popcorn that we threw away. Then they were finishing a game from earlier in the week so our game didn't start for an hour and half later than the scheduled time. Then, our game was cut short by two innings. And lastly, the traffic getting out was HORRIBLE. I've been to venues at many major cities and this was HORRIBLE. Sat for an hour waiting to get out (an hour and 12 minutes to be exact). Watching a Wilmington Blue Rocks game is a memorable experience that's only 7-13 dollars for a ticket! First let's start with Frawley Stadium. Frawley Stadium is one of the finest in all of the MiLB. With I-95 and the Wilmington Skyline in the background it creates a perfect scene for baseball. I would recommend going to a night game when the lights are on, the car lights from I-95, and the lights from the Wilmington Skyline are breathtaking. Food prices are reasonably priced with a good selection of food. Definitely bring the kids on firework night and even on non firework nights there are plenty of things to keep the kids entertained at the stadium. I plan on going to multiple games this upcoming season and you should too. read more

It may not be major league, but it's still professional baseball. And I'm lucky in that I live close by and can be parked in about 10 to 15 minutes from my house. Compared to a major league game (ie...Phillies, which is closest for me at about 45 minutes away), Frawley stadium offers more bang for your buck, no contest. You can't get a bad seat and they are usually under $15. Parking is free (a huge plus considering Philly charges you $20 and up), no hidden handling charges. Concessions are comparable and are pretty good too. I'm a "give me a hot dog at a baseball game and I'm happy", kind of girl. But I've been to a few games and never had a bad experience. It's very family oriented, people are usually friendly and so are the staff. If you're lucky, you can get your picture taken with Rocky Bluewinkle (mascot) or Mr. Celery. And usually before the games, if you get there early enough you might even be able to get some of the players to sign stuff for you....Never know...some of them might make it to the majors one day. And........you get to see a professional baseball game (yes, I actually watch the game..LOL). Fridays usually have fireworks after the game and Mondays are dollar dog nights. And they have other promotions and freebees. So all in all, going to a Blue Rocks game is great experience and a fun night out. read more
