First off so sorry for no pics!! Met a friend for lunch here at what a great surprise! This is a super nice bar/restaurant/event center in the heart of Baldwin Wisconsin. So much parking, so many great spaces outdoors and a beautiful comfortable interior. We sat in the bar and had a great wait staff serving us. Super attentive and friendly. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with beer battered fries and the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was fresh and hot. Great meal. Def recommend!! read more

My congratulations to Phoenix Bar and Grill, Baldwin, WI. My first time at that restaurant was many years ago when it was located south of I-94 and I-63. A small, very small restaurant near the Fireworks. Later, for business reasons, I returned to Baldwin year after year. Phoenix has grown from that small place into a very prominent restaurant, now located north of I-94, with full-service dining, weddings, business meetings, and much more. Congratulations, because this is only achieved by having a vision and a goal, in addition to maintaining excellent service, a menu that caters to almost every palate, a good bar, and, I repeat, excellent service. With my experience as a restaurant connoisseur, both for work and pleasure, and as a chef, I would like to say that the hamburger was delicious. The onions and mushrooms were perfectly cooked, and the medium-rare beef was simply divine. The fried marshmallows were very good. My experience was overall very underwhelming. The restaurant is spacious and open which is really nice. We were seated by the fireplace which was also a nice touch. Wow! This restaurant is big and good. They also have an event center you can rent out. I stopped in to grab some dinner for the family and it was quick and easy. The parking is big and can hold many cars so no need to worry about finding parking. Once you walk in, the great staff greets you and is ready to assist you. I ordered a kids meal and a pizza and some shrimp to go. The food was really good. The restaurant is clean and gives a very relaxing feeling. We have yet to eat at the actual restaurant, but we had takeout the other day and it was fabulous!! We had the Prime Rib French Dip with fries - WOW. This is a must-try if you enjoy prime rib, this french dip is one of the best i've ever had. The Cuban was also very delicious and the sweet potato fries were crispy, sweet, and salty! We had a delicious lunch on valentines day. The cranberry turkey sandwich is amazing! One of my all time favorite sandwiches. The turkey is not dry which can be a problem with grilled turkey sandwiches. The toppings are fresh and the aïoli is delicious. To complete a perfect sandwich the bread was grilled perfectly. The cranberry bread is delicious. I wish they would sell loaves of it to go! My husband loved his mushroom ravioli. The sauce is very flavorful and not too heavy. We enjoyed our lunch at Phoenix Bar & Grill. We were driving through the area and stopped for lunch. We had the potstickers for an app, I had the Cuban, my husband had a French dip, another member of our party had a burrito bowl (omg-it was huge), and the final person had a burger. It came out quickly. The potstickers were very good! The pulled pork on the Cuban was very flavorful. Half of a sandwich was plenty-I boxed the other half. Great stop! We dined on the patio, enjoying a French Dip Sandwich (me) & a Asian Salmon Salad (my friend). It was busy but it was nice to sit outdoors and enjoy the patio. I had peppers added to the "Phoenix Sammich" making my total $17 plus tip and tax. Glad I didn't order the soup or sweet potato fries (all for uncharges). Don't get us wrong: the food was good, service was okay (since they were so busy)-even gave our waitress a substantial tip since she was working so hard. We had never been to Phoenix Bar & Grill and was very impressed with the menu. A nice variety. We started with the battered shrimp, Mac and cheese bites (gouda), and pot stickers. Very good! Almost enough that we wouldn't have to order entrees. But we did already, so they're you go. Waitress could have been a bit more attentive or announce the specials without being asked. We had to flag her to get a second drink after she went by five or six times without checking. It's a busy place, though. Great food and environment. read more

I had gone here several times with my sister, who lived near Baldwin. It was her favorite local place to eat. When she passed away last month, we all met at her house to get things squared away. At the end of the day, we decided to go to the Phoenix for supper. It was shortly after that when we decided to hold her celebration of life at their event center. I called Kristin, their event coordinator, and she explained our options for rooms, food, etc... She was very helpful and made sure we were considering everything we needed for our event. I felt confident going into the day, knowing at least our venue was ready. We had to bring our own flowers, centerpieces, and pastor, of course, but the Phoenix provided us with a beautiful room, comfortable seating and dining, a projector, screen and microphone, and delicious food afterward. I really can't say enough about how well we were treated and accommodated. It's not that we were super demanding, I don't think, but I really got the sense that they wanted this to be a memorable and stress-free experience, such as it was. Chelsea, our server/supervisor, did an amazing job of communicating with me when we needed more food ordered, and she ran the whole room by herself! Plenty of room, tvs, etc. Baldwin is right in between the Twin Cities and Eau Claire - love so much about this. Here's the challenge.....we had a large group of families with us and were not greeted with the enthusiasm or friendly spirit that we would hope for. Not sure what we should do differently. We hate feeling guilty about coming and spending $500-1000 and shouldn't. We hear about shift changes. We hear about short staffing. The Badgers basketball game is NOT on any of the TVs in the bar? Darn it. This is a GREAT restaurant. Great food. Cool spot. Probably needs to be more enthusiastic about delivering on this awesome opportunity. We will be back with a smaller group. Excellent experience on a mid Thursday afternoon while traveling from Eau Claire to Minneapolis airport before heading back home to Florida. We were looking for something a bit better than another Roadside fast food restaurant, and this place hit the spot. We went here for dinner, roughly 5:00. When we went in nobody was there but the 3 girls at the front. They were kind but we asked for a table of 5 and they said "sorry but we can't do that but we will try to get something situated and you will have to wait around 15 minutes." And I thought to myself how hard is it to bring an extra chair to the table but after we got seated we ordered our drinks. Now the thing that surprised me is that they had 1919 root beer which is my favorite soft drink and basically no restaurant has it that I've been to. So then we ordered our food which it was a good portion for the price. But we ordered our food. I ordered the margarita pizza (14 inch) and on the menu it said only virgin olive oil, mozzarella, basil, garlic, and a marinara base. But when I got it I saw the pizza and there was tomato's. I didn't ask for tomatoes nor it said there was any on the menu. And the worst of all there mad mountains of garlic on top of the pizza and a good amount of garlic on the inside. But I picked off the tomatoes while my pizza was getting colder and colder. But my first bite on the corner pice I thought that it wasn't that bad but my second pice I wanted to spit it out but I didn't want to waste my money nor food. So I only ate like 5 out of the 16 slices. And for the rest of the family they said they weren't impressed. But the thing that caught my eye was in the bathrooms and that was the paper towel dispenser only gave you a towel that was the side of a folded pice of paper in half horizontally. So overall I didn't like it but if you were to stop here I would say go to a Culver's because there is one nearby. read more

Our previous experiences dining at the Phoenix have been positive. That changed on our most recent visit. We had planned to meet some friends for dinner that came back into town. Our friends are elderly and we have some health concerns on our end however from previously dining at the Phoenix we knew they had a patio. We had hope to celebrate this night as it was the first night out dining for us since the pandemic started. Our friends arrived first and asked the hostess for a spot on the patio. Our friends advised the hostess that they would be expecting 2-3 guests. They were assured this was no problem. When my wife and I arrived we met our friends on the patio. Our server came over at that time and that's when everything changed. We advised our server that we were waiting for one more. Our server then advised us that she could not help us as only 4 people were allowed to sit at a table. We asked if we could order as the other individual could probably stop and just say hello. Again we were told we could not be helped if we had more than 4 people. When we asked about some other tables on the patio that already had more than 4 people and had drinks and food we received the reply "that is above my paygrade". I didn't want to ruin our celebration however our friends were quite upset especially since our request was due to health concerns. They went inside and spoke to a manager who unfortunately "could care less". When our other friend arrived who sounds like she is friends with the owner, she was shocked at the service or lack of service and lack of concern for our health and well being that we received. We asked respectfully as we had an elderly couple and a couple that have compromised immune systems. We were treated more like a problem than customers.  Instead of just leaving we decided to order food to go and went to our friends house. We would like to return again sometime however apparently at this time they don't care about their customers and their health concerns unless you have 4 people or less per table. read more

Had family from Colorado visiting. My daughter called at 4pm and made a reservation for 14 at 7 pm. When we arrived they had us seated at 3 different tables. One was literally behind a wall separate from the others. My son asked if we could move the tables together and was told no. The manager came out and what followed was bizarre. The manager said we could not sit together because "I said so". If you decide to eat here just be sure you follow their rules and don't make any special requests. We went down the road to Roberts where we were served graciously by an excellent waitress. Management needs to look into this. The Phoenix is the best restaurant in Baldwin and surrounding cities. We come here for family meals but also have attended events here. The atmosphere is upscale casual and very comfortable. Great patio to enjoy in the summer, sometimes with live music. Our favorite food here is their buffalo sauce. I wish they would bottle it to sell! It is actually spicy but still really flavorful. We shared the boneless buffalo wings and nachos. Their boneless wings are really unique- not the typical heavy breaded boneless wing. It's more like grilled chicken sliced up and sauced. This was our first time ordering the chicken nachos and they were not better than we could make at home. The black olives were ice cold so the nachos tasted frozen/pantry and not fresh. The chicken was sliced too large for the chips. Overall, I give Phoenix 4 stars this time because they usually provide 5 star food and service and we are so happy to have the Phoenix as a dining option. Just not a fan of the nachos! read more

I'm from Cincinnati and but I grew up in Green Bay. I was not expecting a place like this in Baldwin, WI. I have a diary allergy and you can imagine how difficult it can be to find safe food in this part of the state. They very willing to accommodate me on a very busy night. The food and atmosphere was as good as many decent places I've found in my travels. According to a friend of mine, their current location used to be an apple orchard. The interior is very well done and has all of the charm I love in the midwest. I was not expecting to find good fajitas, but I did. I had to go more than once. They said their salmon was sushi grade and it definitely was. I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but if you're driving by and have some time to sit down and enjoy a meal, this is the place worth stopping at. read more

Had dinner at this establishment in fall of 2015 at their old location and honestly don't remember much about it. Excited to try the new location but hesitant based on the Yelp reviews since they moved. Walked in on a busy Saturday night to an open atmosphere dining room and a bar off to the side. The hostess was telling a customer that their largest parties they could handle right now was 8; with the excuse being this was week 2 in business at the new location. To me that is bad business; wait staff need to be able to handle anything thrown at them and the kitchen as well. We were given a 20 minute wait time and seated under this. Due to the reviews of the new location we aired on the side of caution and decided what we wanted for appetizer and dinner before we were seated. For appetizer we ordered the potato skins and buffalo boneless wings. Good portion for the size of the potatoes however the ratio of potato to bacon, cheese, and green onions was off. The sauce on the side was very good; not sure what it was but very good. The buffalo boneless wings were good; sauce wasn't a traditional buffalo - more smoky flavor with the heat. 17 minute wait after ordering we had appetizers. For dinner we had a mix of burger, fried chicken sandwich, and a pizza. Both the burger and friend chicken sandwiches were very good. Upgraded to seasoned fries for an extra flair. While I personally didn't have the pizza it looked good; it was greasy but to be expected with the toppings that were selected. Iced tea is made from powder so that was a bummer. We all enjoyed the dinner and if we were by the establishment and hungry we'd go back; for us not something we'd go out of our way for. read more

If you can avoid dining or having your event here do so. This place is wholly inequipped to handle what they got going on. Their customer service is beyond awful...you will get nothing but excuses, rather than any real solutions. If you dont take what they give you when they've errored they will tell you they will require you to leave. Dont waste your money on their overpriced menu. Dont waste your money or your time. After specifcally requesting one table for our whole group in my reservation and calling to speak directly with the owner after the fact (we did leave and did not want to spend any of our money there) he said we should have been grateful for the booths we were given and that speaking to each other through the dividing booth wall shouldnt have been a problem...lol. Oh and it was HIS family that they seated at the apparently one table that could accomodate our group....yet the waitress/manager told us right out that that group 'trumped' our reservation because they were bigger; 16 people. Stopped here for their Friday fish fry. It was busy, but was able to be seated right away. Had the fish fry and a Blue Moon beer. Meal comes with three pieces of fish, fries and slaw. I do have to say, the cole slaw was kind of warm and it was very blah. It tasted like they just mixed mayo in with cabbage and nothing more was added. Having gone to Phoenix Bar and Grill for two christmas parties that they catered, I must say I am impressed! From the outside it looks like an average restaurant, but the inside has lovely decor, including a giant salt water fish tank! The staff is nice. They looked unhappy to be there, but they were still nice enough. Now on to the food. I could eat an entire tub of their mashed potatoes. They are so flavorful and delicious! The green beans are fresh and crisp.I have tried two of their entrees. One was chicken in some sort of cream sauce, and the other was apple stuffed pork. So when we got there they didn't want to seat us because it would be to much for their kitchen. I work in Baldwin, and have heard different opinions of this particular establishment, but it seemed as if those opinions were based on loyalties rather than actual experiences. Since I'm new to the area, I have no such loyalties. We were seated promptly, and our server came over immediately and took our drink order. We had the fire shrimp as an appetizer. AMAZING. the portion was huge, the shrimp were huge, perfectly fried and with just the right amount of sauce. I was in heaven. I wanted to forget about the entree and just order more shrimp. I ordered the steak fajitas. The fajitas were delicious, and tortillas steamed perfectly, with the right about of condiments. My wife had the walleye, and she raved about the way the fish was cooked as well as the freshness of the vegetables, and the presentation of the dish. We have family coming to visit this summer, from Florida, New York and Virginia. Can't wait to bring them to this restaurant so they can see what we are bragging about. Great job!!!! read more
