Wilson installed a new roof on my house in 2008 after the big hail storm. They did a great job on the roof itself and also in working with me and my insurance company on the front end. Fast forward to this fall. During one of the recent, heavy rainstorms one weekend, a leak in the kitchen ceiling appeared. On Sunday I filled out the repair form at Wilson's web site and also left a message on the company's machine. At 8am Monday morning, I called again and talked to a company representative. As a result of the heavy rains that weekend, they were getting a lot of calls but I was "in line." On Tuesday afternoon a Wilson tech came to my house. In just a few minutes he figured out the cause of the leak: a vent from the hot water heater that hadn't been properly sealed by the plumber who had installed the heater AFTER the new roof in 2008. In other words, the Wilson roof was doing its job; but Wilson found and fixed the other guy's poor work and didn't even send me a bill. Count me as a very satisfied customer, indeed. read more

First, the owner was honest enough to tell me 5 years ago that we were in good shape and didn't need work done then. In a few years, he promised. Meanwhile all our Westlake cul de sac members had theirs completed by Wilson roofing. Now was our turn. 1. They've been in business forever. Have the best workers, highest quality products, and most importantly an AMAZING QUALITY CONTROL TEAM that shows up throughout the day to check on every detail. 2. They have two shifts that work their ass off. First shift 7:00 consists of 5 or 6 guys. Second shift comes about 3. They work hard until sunset, with the same quality control guys that show up and speak to the homeowner. 3. They are upfront that this is a construction zone. They replace every piece of questionable wood. 4. Wilson roofing majorly repaired our roof 2.5 years ago when we purchased our new home. They were recommended by our realtor and seemed to have done good work then. 1 year ago the roof started to leak and the warranty was out. The issue was very minor and we still brought then back in five months ago - and they still are working on it. They are noncommunicative, slow, and change dates without warning, and are still have yet to give us any updated quotes. They respond barely to about every third to fifth email. I hired Wilson Roofing to install a new roof following a hail storm. They were not the low bid & one reason I chose them was they found damage not included in the insurance adjusters report. They said they would resubmit and could have it added to my claim. This was never done despite all the promises. In fact I Tami fed them about 30- days before the filing deadline. Someone came out & took measurements & they never filed the claim. It was all a lie to get my business. We have lived in our home for 8 years. It has a concrete tile roof. About 6 years ago we contacted Wilson Roofing to come and do some repairs after a storm and we had significant leaking. The cost was $8000 but the Wilson Roofing employee told us that a new roof would run about $45,000 and that a full new roof was not necessary. A year and a half ago we had some more damage to the roof in a storm. Again, we called Wilson Roofing. Our MasterCard was billed $1800. We never saw anyone come out or do any repairs. We called to see exactly what was done. Wilson sent a representative who did not get on the roof but rather simply described what he said had been done. He had no pictures but during a very hard rain, we had no leaks so assumed it had been done. Now, we are selling our house and we told the people who are buying it to call Wilson Roofing to inspect the roof. We have not had any problems but with a tile roof, you always want to make sure. When the buyer called, they were told that they were familiar with our house and that it needed an entire new roof and that would run $45,000. Wilson told them that on the phone without even coming to inspect the roof. You can imagine the buyer's reaction. They have had 2 other companies come to inspect the roof and neither company has seen more than a few cracked or broken tiles but no sign of any leaking or anything that would require an entire new roof. Not only has Wilson Roofing not backed what they did, but they lied to get a huge job! We are extremely disappointed in this underhanded behavior as it has prolonged our closing and made the buyer's have doubt. Just lately, Austin has had some very severe thunderstorms and we had no leaking. Wilson is an old company with a good reputation but for some reason they have now started misleading their clients. I will not recommend them to anyone and I suggest you get several opinions before you decide to use them for your roofing needs. read more

The job involved demolition of the existing tiles with waterproofing, and recreation of a slight slope to permit proper drainage. When we first bought our old house a couple of years ago, we received notification from our newly acquired house insurance policy that we would have to do a complete roof replacement or we would be dropped from coverage. I spoke with Mark at Wilson and he was able to quote me both the cost of the full repair, but also came up with another cheaper option for a roof "tune-up" that would satisfy the requirements for the insurance company at a fraction of the cost of the full repair. They did a great job "tuning up" the roof and got rid of a couple ugly satellite dishes left by previous tenants, and our insurance company was satisfied. Thanks again! read more

Had storm damage to roof on adjoining building to my home. Estimator came out, said my roof overall was in good condition and just needed a repair to damaged area. Checked my other rood while he was there and said it was fine. He could have easily told me 'you need a whole roof' but didn't I cant imagine a job like this is profitable but they are honest. Repair was estimated, scheduled, and done exactly as scheduled. When I DO need a rood Ill be back to Wilson and will do my best to tell everyone I know about this honorable company. read more

Company was recommended by our insurance company but unfortunately their communication is very poor. Once they give you a quote they will continually contact you to agree but will not really provide answers to your questions. We did have them do the work, insurance claim for roof and gutters, and they did not seem to know what they were doing when they were actually doing the work and we were not able to communicate with the crew while they were on site. After reviewing finished product, it was obvious they did not add back the attic vents they removed, put one back on the peak run where there were initially 3, and they added a solar vent fan but put it in the incorrect location (too low) so heat still builds up in the majority of the attic. Been trying to have them come out and go over the work but all they tell me is that it is complete and they would appreciate payment. RUN! Wilson "fixed" my roof in 2010, right after tropical storm Hermione. They charged my insurance company $1700, plus I had to pay my deductible. Part of their charges included work that I did myself, which my insurance company made them repay that portion of their bill. Now, here in October 2013 we had our first really heavy rain since 2010. The repairs Wilson did leaked like a sieve. Lots of water all over the floor, damaged walls, trashed windowsills. I called Wilson to ask someone to come look at the roof. The girl answering the phone said their work is only good for two years and they didn't need to come out. I told her I would have Wilson investigated for insurance fraud because I didn't believe they did any repairs. The guy came out, took a look and said there was nothing wrong. Started blaming everything on the builder. Sorry pal, the leak is coming from where you supposedly did your repairs in 2010. The right thing for you to do is come do what you should have done in 2010. I would never recommend these guys. Their attitude is horrible. read more

SHORT STORY: After I signed the contract I couldn't get them to actually schedule me, and eventually office staff barked at me "We're very busy and I can't have you calling here every day!" (I wouldn't have called at all had they ever gotten back to me), and "Your job happens when it happens!" LONGER STORY: Wilson bid $1200 each to install two 2x4 skylights in my roof (not including the inside work). I asked, "If I sign today, when can they be installed?" Wilson said probably in two weeks, three in the worst case. So I signed and emailed the contract back, but then I didn't hear from anyone to confirm about scheduling. After a few days of silence I started calling every 1-2 days to inquire, and they always said someone would get back to me, but nobody ever did. Finally on Day 8 after I signed the contract (at which point there should have been 6 days left on the probable install), I found that Wilson hadn't even ordered the skylights, and it would be at least *another* 2-3 weeks before the skylights were even on hand, and no telling when my actual install would be done. When I complained about this, the staffer blind-transferred me to Jessica, who started in on me before I even said anything, telling me, "We're very busy here, and I can't have you calling every day!" (I was only calling because they'd never gotten back to me), and "the skylights get here when they get here, and they'll get installed when they get installed," or words to that effect. Since they forbade me from calling them any more, I emailed them to fire them, then left a review here and on AngiesList. Right after that, Ralph Wilson, the owner, emailed me and said, "I saw your review on AngiesList. We will not do any work for you." That says it all: (1) He could have apologized for their not getting back to me, or their office manager barking at me, but not a word about that. He certainly doesn't care about his customers' experience. (2) Just as telling was that he thought he was somehow punishing me by refusing to do work for me, as though I still wanted them to do the work, and as though I hadn't already fired THEM. It was really childish, like, "Waaa, you left us a bad review, so we're not gonna work for you, waaaa!" read more

TERRIBLE Customer Service and does NOT Warranty their work!!!! Wilson was hired to repair & replace shingles and check for any places that needed repair after the storms in June '14. By November there was a leak that caused damage in my ceiling. Called Wilson roofing 4 times to get someone to come repair the roof "repairs" they did in June, FINALLY someone came out & they claimed that they didn't do work in that area, so it was not under warranty. They told me that they would work up an estimate. I asked if they could put a tarp on the roof while they are creating the estimate, and they said "no". Will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. We had a small roof leak on a three-story townhome. Wilson Roofing was recommended by a neighbor so I gave them a call. Provided all the details and was told someone would call me within 2-3 days to schedule. Got a call that same day from Coby at Wilson - he was in the area and asked if he could stop by to take a look - sure! I did not expect that he would be able to access the roof as I usually see lifts used for that purpose in our complex, due to the three-story units. Coby was able to use a very tall ladder to get up on our attached neighbor's roof, then from there he somehow (without a ladder) was able to access our roof. Coby provided detailed pictures and a description of what he found and sent a work order the next day. Coby called the next day to see if they could send someone out that day to do the work - sure! Adrian from Wilson came out, accessed our roof the same way Coby did, and patched the leak. Coby and Adrian were very professional and friendly and the repair ended up costing way less than I expected. We haven't had a good rain to test the repair yet but based on all of my interactions with Coby and Adrian I'm 100% confident that the job was done right. I would highly recommend Wilson Roofing and will definitely use them again for future roofing work. read more

Let me preface this by saying I used Wilson Roofing about 10 years ago and they were amazing. So when my new house needed a new roof, I immediately went with them. First they missed 2 appointments for inspection. I let that go. I was told my roof would be replaced the first week of July. Well, that came and went with zero communication. Several weeks later it was finally replaced. I was told the job would take 2 days. They finished in 1. They finished in 1 because they left a mess everywhere, wrappers from materials, cigarette butts, nails, etc. The roof is uneven. The gutters are crooked and missing screws. They keep telling me that Wilson isn't responsible for the gutters because it's a different company. Wilson selected and paid the sub-contractor. They killed and trampled a lot of my landscaping. They removed ALL of my landscaping lights and did not put them back. I'm a couple months past completion and have been invoiced already despite still not having the issues with the roof identified by their own staff resolved. Select a different roofer. I definitely wish I would have. read more

They also worked as the general contractor to get my gutters, window screens, painting, and driveway re-stained. We did have a couple mishaps that were addressed immediately which I appreciated. They communicated during the entire process and made sure I was 100% satisfied with their work and my concerns. I would have my roof redone by Wilson Roofing if it needed it. I have recommended Wilson Roofing to friends for years after the company did a great job of replacing my roof a number of years ago. However, a friend, who recently used Wilson Roofing to repair damage to her home told me that the work was poorly done. She said that the front office communicated to her well, but that the individual, who came to repair the work was not professional. Instead of correctly repairing the problem, he patched the issue. I was surprised since I and others had such great work from the company. When my friend received the bill, she said that it listed "Centec Holdings LLC doing business as Wilson Roofing"; therefore, it looks like Wilson Roofing has been sold. I hope they repair my friend's complaint and maintain the solid work that previous owners of Wilson Roofing had established. read more

Despite their good reputation in town, these guys are crooks. They took our money, never fixed our leak, and stalled until the warranty was up. Wilson built the original roof on our house. The builder told them it was a bad design and would leak - and sure enough, it did. We had them come out to repair the roof ($15K) when it started leaking on us. After their "repair," the leak got worse. They came out a few times and supposedly fixed it, but they were always rude and dismissive. They would do a "water test", spraying water on the roof, but not enough to leak - and say "see, it's fixed." When it rained and we had water on the floor, they would do a moisture test low on the wall and say "the leak must be from somewhere else." I finally got my own moisture meter, put it on a long pole to test around the ceiling after a hard rain, and took pictures of the readings to show how damp it was. They sent a technician out to confirm, which he did. But now that they had proof that it was still leaking, they sent us a letter saying the roof repair was now out of warranty. That's right - they never fixed the leak, stalled until the warranty was up, then washed their hands of it. Absolutely awful service, don't go near them. read more

After a kitchen remodel exposed and remediated water intrusion near an exterior door, I called Wilson Roofing to determine the source and rehabilitate my metal roof to prevent the old problem recurring. It was a pricey estimate, but since it also included (at my request) the replacement of all screws on the roof, I was willing to see it through. The work was completed in a single day, by a single person. A few days later it rained and I could see the paint bulging again. Wilson was quick to dispatch their "metal expert," who after tightening some loose screws (?!) said everything would be ok. Rains next day--not ok. They return and look around. Unable to generate any other solutions, I am told, "there is no water in the wall." Even though they cracked the paint rubbing their hands over the bubbling wall, this was the story they wanted to stick to. All efforts to reach Wilson since have gone ignored. Two stars in hopes this is not the end of the story. read more
