If we miss a class our daughter notices & tells us! "Swimming!!" Wendy knows how EXACTLY how to work with babies & teach them swimming. One of the most impressive things they learn is if they fall in the pool they learn to put their arms up, reach for the side and climb out of the pool-this is HUGE for pool safety should your baby somehow manage to fall in!! We have had so many compliments from other parents while on vacation about how well our daughter swims for her age. Thank you Wendy & crew! We absolutely love it there!!! The facilities are always clean and tidy and the staff is amazing. They start the babies out with small classes which help with repetition and really learning the basics, and then move them on to privates which really focus on technique and skill. Tucked away in the Ventura Community park off of Kimball is a large aquatic center that I've been…read morewanting to check out. I hear of this place every summer but never had the chance til this week. What a great place for kids to enjoy water play. But actually for the entire family too! We went during free swim time from 12-4pm and it was only $10 for ages 3 and up. There's a big shallow kiddie pool with water activities and then 2 water slides on the back side of the park. There's a rec pool that maybe goes to 4.5 ft depth so it's perfect for just enjoying the water when you can't lap swim because the pool is crowded. A large picnic table area can be found in the middle of the center too so you can being lunch and snacks too. There a larger Olympic size pool on the west end of the center that can be used for lap swimming so overall it's great for all ages and swimming levels. We're planning to be here quite a bit for the summer! There's also cabanas to change into and showers to rinse off before and after swimming.

She is very knowledgeable, gives excellent queuing, and provides modifications for various levels, even for those of us who need more of a challenge. I have been able to get my heart rate up, get resistance, core & flexibility training here. I've noticed significant improvements in my overall fitness and physique. The pools & facilities are clean and in great condition. Water temperature is about 78 degrees and they have multiple pools to accommodate lap swimming, classes, and a kid's pool. But from the very first class, I felt supported and encouraged. The instructors were incredibly patient and skilled at breaking things down step-by-step. They created such a positive and motivating environment that I started looking forward to each session. Over time, I built not only my swimming skills but also my confidence in the water. I really appreciated how flexible and accommodating the team was with my schedule. Since I work full-time, evening classes were the only option for me, and they made it easy for me to attend consistently. On occasions when I needed to reschedule, they were always understanding and helpful, which made a huge difference in staying committed. Now, I can swim confidently--something I never imagined I'd be able to say. I'm so grateful for the progress I've made and for the dedication of the entire team here. My 5 year old had been through private lessons for the previous 3 summers but still was not comfortable in the water. Steffi pushes the kids but in the end, I think it teaches them that even though it may be tough, they can do whatever they want! My 18 month old is now very comfortable in the water and more important, I am comfortable with her around water. This program gives your child, and you, a strong sense of comfort in the water. I highly recommend doing the Fundays/aqua babies after as you will see continuing growth and rewards. I had several friends recommend it and there advice was "the first few weekends are tough on you, but now our kids are swimming like seals and they love the water." I have to say I agree with them!

It's truly AMAZING what Steffi is able to teach the littles in her program. She is the most gentle and patient instructor. My children are confident in the water, not afraid to get their faces wet and able to swim-float-swim. My oldest is learning different strokes and loves diving for rings/gems/dive sticks. My youngest loves to practice swims and jump in from a seated position on the wall when we swim for fun. Yes, it is a big commitment; 10 mins a day, 4 days per week for 4-6 weeks. Yes, it can seem pricey, but how do you put a price tag on the safety of your child? We love you Steffi and are so grateful you started Baby Seals Swim Academy!
