I visited the YMCA today because I called and was asking about getting a 50m swim test done here…read more We were told to come in and make an appointment. Patrick, who works at the front desk, was extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time getting us to where we needed to go for a swim test. We were there to make an appointment but he called up Henk to ask if he could help us with this process. Henk was so friendly and helpful as well. Instead of making an appointment for another day, they asked if we had our swim clothes with us (thank goodness I prepared myself just in case) and had us do the swim test right then and there. Henk emailed us the letter with his signature a few hours after we completed the test. We were not charged anything for using the facilities and getting a test done. This was by far the best experience and the staff were so accommodating to us. I've been calling and emailing the Stamford YMCA for the same test and it was not as consistent as Darien (it took two weeks, two calls, and numerous emails to get help from them). Darien was extremely helpful and we are so appreciative of the staff there! Patrick is new to the YMCA but he was amazing. We greatly appreciate his help in contacting Henk for us. Henk's last day is Thursday so we came at the best time. He was incredibly friendly and excited for us as to why we needed this swim test. The facilities were amazing and the decor was beautiful. This was probably the nicest YMCA I've ever been to. Thank you Darien YMCA!! You really helped us with this!!

She takes drowning prevention and water safety incredibly seriously for my infant daughter, as well as for all the other children in the class, including those with special needs. Despite the serious focus on safety, she manages to make every lesson genuinely fun and engaging. We love her approach and will absolutely be going back.

We have taken numerous fitness classes at the "J" and each one has exceeded our expectations. We have also sent our son (and now our daughter) to Sara Walker Nursery School. It is a phenomenal school with loving and nurturing teachers. Our son was in the Terrific Tots, 2's, 3's and 4's program. These programs fully prepared him for Kindergarten. I can't speak highly enough about the school, the teachers, the curriculum and the care he received at the school.

If you don't know what those things are, don't worry, they'll teach you how to use them. The classes are small enough that the instructors can correct your form and/or bark at you if you're not putting in enough effort! I've been working out here for approximately 5 years now and currently train with Ray (owner) to strengthen my legs due to past knee issues (2 surgeries) due to tennis. Thanks to him and TTF, I am still able to enjoy my favorite sport pain-free! For a great workout, I highly recommend you try a class like Tabata or Sweatbox.

The girls high performance Rowing Coach, Sorcha, is dedicated and incredibly talented. I've never seen a coach who can inspire such loyalty in a group of girls before in my life, and I played high school and college. This club went out of their way to get the girls a new boat as well. They really take care of the kids there. They have a place to get the athletes on the water in the winter, which I don't think any other Club has in this area.
