While my aircraft was in route Florida from California the hotel canceled my reservation. They claimed this was due to the credit card not processing. When I called from the airport, I was told, basically, too bad we had others waiting for the room. I had to put up a fight, as you might expect. Had I not put up a fight, I would have been out of luck. In the end the desk clerk realized the horrible mistake he had made and made everything good. I like the location. Easy walk to dozens of restaurants. I had a 10th floor room on the intercoastal waterway side. Great view and comfortable room, although the rooms are very dated. Restaurant in the hotel is fantastic. I love the laundry machines in the room. That made keeping it close clean a breeze.

So the place seemed very roomy and well laid out. There was a full size freezer/fridge, a two burner stove, a sink, cabinets, plates, etc. - The bed was comfortable and we got housekeeping every other day. The bath towels were fluffy and soft. -The balcony overlooking the intracoastal and downtown was really nice and big....There was a lounge chair, two tables and six chairs total...very good. - The location right by restaurants and shops made it very easy to get around. - The restaurant was being transitioned to a new owner. The new restaurant, G&B Dockside was getting ready to open, so we did not have breakfast at the restaurant nor at the conference room (alternate site) due to meetings. So instead of opening a room and setting it up for the breakfast buffet, we were all squeezed in around the lobby bar area. Very tight, very hard to move around and get around. I got hit on the head a few times by passers by trying to move around this tight space. I believe they will be transitioning the breakfast out in the next few days. There was no fresh egg, bacon, etc....all they had was prepackaged burritos, croissants and egg cheese frittata packages...that needed to be microwaved, but with no labelling of how long to heat them up. The last day they ran out of hard boiled eggs !!! I asked about that and they said, they were just OUT. I said, there's a Publix 3 blocks away....?!?!? So we did not have eggs that day. - The pool was not heated well. Many guests complained that they could not get in since it was kind of cold. - The lounge chairs around the pool are stained and could use some re-upholstering. - Some of the front desk people were really nice and friendly, some were not friendly at all. Overall a nice hotel in a great location but with some areas that could be improved with stronger management.

If you're booking the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Lauderdale with the expectation that the elevated…read moreprice tag signals an elevated experience, temper those expectations. This property has the bones of a solid stay, but the value equation just doesn't add up. Rooms & Atmosphere: The rooms are clean and functional, and the location is undeniably convenient if you're hopping on a cruise or need quick access to the airport. But for the nightly rate--often pushing well beyond what a standard Courtyard typically commands--you expect something a bit more polished, a bit more modern, a bit more... worth it. Instead, it feels like you're paying premium-resort pricing for mid-tier accommodations. Food & Dining: Here's where things really fall apart. The on‑site food is sub‑par at best and extremely overpriced. Think cafeteria‑level quality at steakhouse prices. A simple breakfast sandwich shouldn't cost what a full brunch does elsewhere in Fort Lauderdale, and yet here we are. The Bistro concept can work at other Courtyards, but at this location it feels like an afterthought--uninspired, bland, and nowhere near aligned with the cost. Service: Staff are friendly and do their best, which helps soften the edges, but even great service can't compensate for the mismatch between price and product. Overall: This Courtyard leans heavily on its location and brand name, but the experience doesn't justify the premium. If the rates were more in line with what you actually receive, this would be an easy 4‑star stay. As it stands, the high price point and disappointing food drag it down. If you're looking for convenience and don't mind overpaying for the basics, it'll get the job done. But if value matters, you'll want to explore other options in the area. Good Luck

One of the perks of being a Travel Advisor is getting to plan and book my own trips. For this stay,…read moreI booked three nights under my Bonvoy account and an additional night under my husband's. We arrived in the evening, and check‑in was quick and easy. I let the front desk know about the second reservation under my husband's name, and they added a note to the file. I also received a small bag with two complimentary waters. Be aware that the hotel charges additional fees for early check‑in, and parking is $10 per day. You'll need to scan a QR code to register your vehicle. The property is not near the ocean, so there are no ocean‑view rooms. Our room (506) had a balcony overlooking the parking lot. The carpet looked newer, and the bathroom was a good size with a spacious shower. However, there was some peeling paint on the ceiling, and the bathroom water had a yellow tint, which I'm not sure is typical for the area. The bed was firmer than I prefer, though my husband found it comfortable. The pillows were not great, but the front desk quickly provided firmer replacements when I requested them the next day. During checkout of my reservation, housekeeping stopped by to confirm whether we had vacated the room. Once my husband explained that we had another night booked, they were satisfied. Checkout itself was smooth--the young woman assisting us was kind, patient, and even printed our luggage tags. The location is convenient, with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, and parking was easy. One thing to note: the main lobby is not connected to the lodging buildings.

At first glance, the hotel isn't terrible. It's small and the interior looks like they've tried to update it with newer furniture and wall décor. Unfortunately, it feels like they focused on cosmetic upgrades while neglecting the areas that really matter. The floors in certain areas of the property have been neglected. The elevator felt unsafe, like I'm taking a chance on my life every time I stepped into it, and the flooring around it was equally dirty and clearly in need of repair. The pool area had some decent seating, but the water itself was not appealing--there were bugs floating everywhere and visible debris at the bottom. The hot tub was basic at best. Also, if you're not familiar with South Florida, be prepared for some "local wildlife" hanging around the pool... aka iguanas (basically mini dinosaurs). Our room had two queen beds but felt extremely cramped. There was far too much furniture for the space, making it hard to move around comfortably. One of the beds was very creaky, which didn't help. The bathroom was standard, with basic toiletries provided, but walking barefoot on the carpet felt unpleasant--it just didn't feel clean. Overall, this place might work in a pinch, but it definitely needs better upkeep and attention to cleanliness.

I had a reservation already paid in advance through Airbnb, and when you arrive they demand a credit card "for security," and when you leave they charge you high fees claiming you smoked, something we have never done in our lives. It is extremely frustrating to try to clarify the issue; it's like talking to a robot. They don't provide any evidence, they never mentioned that supposed penalty at checkout, they just wait for you to leave trusting them so they can steal from you. They are miserable people. Never hand over a credit card to the Hilton or Hampton chain if your reservation is already paid through external apps, and don't believe them when they tell you at checkout, "everything is ok, you already signed when you arrived, you can go." Make them sign a checkout document stating that everything is ok and get a copy of it -- that way they won't be able to ROB you. Oh, and the carpet smells like mold; it caused me a lot of discomfort. It truly smells awful when the temperature of the air conditioner goes down. You either endure the cold or the mold smell.
