This is such a great little place in Victoria. It's small and cozy, and you can really tell it's family-owned--the walls are filled with photos and you can see how much pride they take in what they do. I got a Mac an cheese dish that was very good. The bacon on it was just a tiny bit cold, but the pasta itself tasted great. The service was also amazing. My personal favorite restaurant. We love their Brickyard Old Fashioneds. They set the standard for Old Fashioneds in town. Their simple syrup is made by the owner and is delicious. The place has a ton of interesting historical photos and decor so take a minute to look. I recommend calling for reservations if you have a preference on where to sit. Service is always good and friendly and the opwner Kim ia almost always there. We like to sit at the bar on either side and you can eat and drink and watch tv or watch pizzas being made in their giant pizza oven. Love all their pizzas, especially the So Gouda. Also love their Strawberry Salmon Salad and the great wings with the Jamaican jerk dry rub. We have had most everything on the menu. The pasta is good, so are the sandwiches. The restaurant has 4 distinct areas. The Whiskey Bar is more dressed up, with dining room-style table seating and a glass bar. The Pub area is darker with booths, a bar with tv's and the giant pizza oven. This is our favorite space. Wrapping around the pub is a dining room that I think is more appropriate for families with children. It's loud. They also have a dog-friendly (leashed) sunken patio off the west side accessible from the inside of the dining room. read more

Yikes! Food is below average, price is above average and service is slow. Took almost 2 hours for a weekend lunch without drinks. Burger was a 4/10. Nachos 4/10. Wings 5/10. Tots were room temp. Spicy chicken sandwich was a 3/10 gross. Another in our group ordered the ribs. Server said they were out so they ordered a burger. Magically ribs came out as a "surprise". They looked like the were microwaved ribs they found in a container in the back of the walk in. Probably 20+ minutes between first and last meal on the table. Several flys buzzing around our table. Loved it. It was our first time here today. We came with two other couples for lunch. John was our server. He was very kind and patient. He even put up a window screen to shade us from the bright sun. My wife and I shared the following for lunch : - Walleye Finger appetizer - Asian Salad with Grilled Chicken - Bowl of Wild Rice and Chicken Soup Every item was excellent. Finally made the journey west to check this place out! First off - I have heard people rave - both those that live in the Waconia/Victoria area, as well as some clients of mine that I have shared my passion for cajun pasta with. Winchester & Rye was a favorite of a family members of hers to the tune of her making multiple repeat visits. I already kind of new what I was targeting for dinner, but I asked if there was a consensus favorite... Naturally, it was the cajun pasta! As soon as I ordered it the server commented on it being the menu's best seller. All great signs to me! So... The results? Fantastic! The flavor of the cajun cream sauce competes with the best I've had. The onions and peppers were a beautiful addition to the dish - and I even got extra serrano peppers after I told the server I liked to spice things up. I absolutely devoured the dish. Maybe I should have thought about this for a first date. Oops! Going beyond the food - this place just oozes upscale with an awesome ambiance for a date, family dinner, or a classy drink. I started with a Moscow Mule that was quite tasty but perhaps a bit on the smaller side. I ordered a Garlic Shrimp Pasta dish that was very tasty. The shrimp were cooked well and the sauce wasn't overly thick and clingy. I ate nearly the whole serving. Mom and my wife each ordered the Asian Chicken Salad. The size of the salads were enormous. We realized they could have easily split a salad and be satisfied with the portion. The components were fresh and crispy. The chicken cooked well and the dressing tangy with a hint of spice. We came here for dinner with friends. I really enjoyed my ahi tuna and my wings were decent. My husband did not really like his burger. He said that it came with no sauce. The service here was pretty good for the most part. Overall, we had a decent time here. Would I come back? Probably not. It was pretty pricey for us to just think the food was OK. We also had to wait like 30 mins for table which is good for them, as they are busy but if you don't like to wait make a reservation. And you will find a selection of unique restaurants in this community that you could take your choice from and we chose Winchester and Rye. First of all the vibes in this place are amazing. Whoever captured the ambience with furniture, lighting, Decour etc. did an outstanding job in making this one of the most beautiful places to dine in small-town Minnesota! The hostesses we're just doing their job sadly and we're not inspired to be there. But our sever was great! She loved on us and her personality was energetic and she gave us perfect service (she worked at Chanhassen Dinner Theater). I will come back for her service alone! Well done! I was excited to order the smoked chicken chipotle sandwich. I was looking for some spice and some life. And all I got was a corpse. It just didn't taste anything like the description in the menu. It was beyond bland. And the side of mac & cheese and ordered with it was again, not memorable. The noodles were not cooked enough and it left no impression on me what so ever. We also ordered the sweaty Betty burger and sadly got a clammy Sammy burger. It was so bland in the flavor just wasn't there. I wanted to like it so bad but I just couldn't because it was so bland. I was disappointed for sure. Final Take: I did enjoy this place. I love a good atmosphere in this place definitely has it. That's why I took all the pictures. I really enjoy the vibe of the space. The menu looks great but the food is just simply bland. The food presentation came out a little clunky as well. I think they are overworked and understaffed to be honest. But that's an easy fix. They are known for their pizzas in their brick oven as well which I did try and it just wasn't memorable. I want this place to work because I think it has potential. It just needs some intentionality and better management and I think this could be a hot place! We took Dad out for his birthday, and he chose Winchester & Rye. The experience started wrong with the reservation. There was no online option, and I left a message before the restaurant opened, which was never returned. It was obvious after being seated at the restaurant that they were short-staffed. I felt bad for the waiter, who had to prepare his drinks. We ordered an appetizer for the table, which came out with a portion of our entrees. Two of the five of us had to wait over 20 minutes for our entrees. My meal was done well, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by the rest of the experience. Would I recommend the restaurant? No. I don't blame the waiter as he tried his best. I do blame management. They need to get their act together. read more

Today was a special day. Referred by a friend and Coworker. Came to try out their famous burgers. When I walked in I was stunned on how classy this place is. This was the classiest restaurant in Minnesota that I have seen to date. Big statement right? So I ordered their sweaty Betty burger. It was really good. Slightly over cooked and dry. But overall...satisfying. the bacon was crispy and spicy. And they did not go cheap Portion size. Very happy with that. Fries were five stars. Over all atmosphere was something to be desired. Staff was friendly and determined to satisfy their customers. I was very impressed with my experience. Will this be a new staple for me? Maybe with some pasta and a nice sangiovese to wash it down.
