Came here with a few friends on a Thursday evening and had a wonderful experience. We ordered 2 apps to share, drinks and an entree. We were seated right away upon arrival and service was good and we were well taken care of the whole time. Starting from apps, we ordered the duck bacon wontons, and the brisket poutine. The duck bacon wontons were almost empanada size and were truly tasty. The pomegranate sriracha dipping sauce was the icing on the cake here as it was so sweet and rich and flavorful. The brisket poutine was pretty solid as well. There were definitely some beautiful cheese pulls involved when pullling apart the fry's. I wouldn't have minded a little more gravy, but still this dish was still pretty good. For my beverage I had the You're my boy blue beverage which is a bourbon, agave, blueberry and lemonade drink. It was tasty and the blueberry really stood out. Lastly, for the entree I had the anytime monte which is their take on a Monte Cristo sandwich. I love this thing wit a passion. Delicious French toast bread with fried ham and bacon and cheese inside. I then slathered it in the jalapeño strawberry jam which makes this sandwich complete. I asked for the sandwich with Fries and let me tell you, they know what they're doing with potatoes. Unbelievably crispy, double battered double fried fry's. So good! I think that this restaurant has wonderful staff, wonderful food, and the one thing it's maybe missing is the interior design is a bit dreary. It's just red everywhere, lots of windows and pretty plain furniture. I think if they can add some flare to the design it would really elevate the dining experience. Came in for a date night with friends & we were very impressed! All the drinks were delicious, especially the blended mango-rita and Ed Sheeran (pictured). We got the duck bacon wontons and brisket poutine (both pictured) and they both split nicely for 4 people. The wontons came with 5 in an order so we all had to battle for the last one, they were that good. The brisket grilled cheese was also delicious. The bbq sauce on the sandwich was super tangy and had the perfect amount of spice. Service was excellent, our water glasses were never empty and all our needs were met. They don't take reservations, so definitely join the waitlist ahead of time. I joined the waitlist around 6pm on a Saturday and my table was ready after around an hour. There's plenty of free parking in the lot outside. -- The blended drinks were incredible -- think the texture of an icee while being so creamy and fruity at the same time! The Mango Colada was awesome and wasn't too sweet, and the mango flavor was strong and it was creamy. I wanted the Pistachio Daiquiri to be more pistachio forward - the pistachio is more of an aftertaste while the banana flavor is more prominent. -- The Smoking Gun Maple Old Fashioned was super fun for the presentation, but the taste is an afterthought. The Old Fashioned itself is pretty diluted, and the sugar waffle was stale and had no flavor. The bacon isn't enjoyable because it's cold and soaked in the cocktail, and doesn't really add to or complement the flavor at all. It's served with cubed ice, which adds to the dilution throughout the meal. I'd skip this one. -- The Duck Bacon Wontons were the BEST bite, and is worth a visit alone! Fantastic crunch and the inside is so rich and flavorful. The pomegranate sriracha dipping sauce complements it well. -- The Roasted Jalapeno Pull Apart Boule had a nice crisp crust, but the bread inside was a little underbaked. The cheese dipping sauce was awesome. It's literally an entire loaf of bread so it's easily sharable for the table. -- The Braissed Short Rib Ravioli was delicious! There's a generous amount of meat and sauce. The sauce is more cheese forward than brown butter. It's topped with roasted veggies which were a nice texture contrast. The breadstick was bland and overcooked. -- The Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese was delicious and the pasta sauce was so creamy and cheesy! The pasta itself doesn't taste like buffalo sauce, just the chicken. It was a nice balance and the buffalo didn't overpower the dish. It's served with a generous serving of crispy fried chicken. -- The Death by Chocolate dessert was incredible! It's easily shared between four people. The chocolate cake and mousse is very rich, balanced with the light whipped cream. read more

Not too often I find myself dining in Apple Valley, but this place is worth a stop. You'd have to know it's there to find it, somewhat hidden among all the scattered retail in the southern metro, but I can recommend it's worth the trip. Loved the Wagyu sliders. Nice selection of local and regional beers. The Tomato Basil soup was fantastic (I was told). We sat at the bar and found the service perfectly suited to our needs - attentive without hovering - at all times. As sports bars go, it wasn't too loud despite all the TVs on the walls. My wife and I decided to finally try this new restaurant in Apple Valley. As far as ambiance you would be hard-pressed to find a better looking place in the Twin Cities. The decor went well with the name of the restaurant. Come take a look and see for yourself. The food was fine I just thought maybe I ordered the wrong thing that day. We started out with the duck wontons. Very good! I had the brisket Mac and cheese. It was a little underwhelming though. The waitress said their Mac and cheese was more Southern-style. I disagree. Although it had great flavor it was runny. My wife and I also shared her entree which was a smoked salmon salad. The salad was HUGE! It was a really good salad. The entrees here are massive and the menu is pretty extensive. I'll be back to try more of what they have to offer. read more

Stopped here for an early dinner. The place recently opened and it was busy. Luckily we had a reservation (although they couldn't find our reservation?!?!) and we were seated pretty quickly. The place is clean and has that new place vibe. The server came over and was very nice. They got us our waters and helped out with menu. We ordered some burgers and chicken and waffles along with a chicken caprese sandwich and hot chicken sandwich. For appetizers, we got the duck bacon wontons and firecracker shrimp. Also ordered two different kinds of Mac and Cheese, a kids meal and a lobster Mac and cheese. The kids ordered a strawberry lemonade, the rest of us just stuck with water. The food took a little while to come out but was hot and fresh. The reaper burger was cooked well and tasted well even without the bacon. He brought a tea sauce that they use for their wings which was really tasty and had a kick to it. It was habanero flavored creamy sauce. The caprese sandwich tasted good and the chicken was cooked well in all the dishes and not dry. The taste for both the chicken and waffles and Nashville hot sandwich was on point. The duck bacon wontons were fried perfectly with the gooey cream cheese and the duck bacon added the right amount of umami. The firecracker shrimps were the weakest of the items we ordered. While if was crispy and there were half a dozen shrimps, the flavor was very mild. The Mac and cheese was on point, especially the lobster one with a nice piece of lobster. Good flavors in the Mac and cheese. For dessert, we got the apple crisp skillet with a scoop of ice cream. Came out warm and was big enough to share. A little more cinnamon forward than I like but not too much. They were really trying hard but between opening just the week before and being super busy, they were having a hard time. But the helpful attitude and helpful attitude of the wait staff and the management went a long way to make our experience more enjoyable. I would give them a little time to sort out the initial 'new opening jitters' but it's a solid choice in an area that doesn't have a lot of options. We would check it out again if we are in the area. My husband and I went here for dinner. All the staff were very nice. Our waitress was wonderful. We each got a drink and then shared the duck wontons for an app. The wontons were very good! I got the wings in the Tennessee sauce which was basically a Smokey buffalo. I liked them okay. The ranch was amazing though. My husband got the Mac n cheese which lacked flavor and meat. He said the breadstick was terrible. The prices were kinda high, in our opinion. We liked the ambiance and the decor suited the restaurant. We probably won't be back. We are glad we tried it but we didn't feel it was above average for the above average prices. read more

Brick & Bourbon is a great local spot for the suburbs with a huge menu and something for everyone. We had a really good experience, and a big part of that was our waiter Calvin. He took amazing care of us, gave great recommendations, and was consistently attentive without hovering. Seriously great service. It definitely has that busy bar-style vibe, energetic, lively, and usually pretty packed (especially weekends). The space is open and spacious with a mix of booths, tables, and bar seating. One of the highlights is their bourbon flights, which are such a fun way to try a variety without committing to one pour. Definitely recommend doing a flight if you're into bourbon or just curious. Food-wise, we tried a decent spread, some highlights were the Duck bacon wontons: very tasty, but extremely salty. Like... these bad boys were CAKED. If you're sensitive to salt, just a heads up. The Chicken caprese sandwich: really good, made with an entire chicken breast and comes with a large portion of fries. The Burgers: all-around good and cooked well. We also tried the Buffalo mac & cheese: basically boneless buffalo wings on top of their classic mac. Good, but didn't have a huge wow factor. They also are scratch-made, even down to desserts, which is always a plus. Plenty of parking, but pro tip: join the waitlist before you go on weekends. The food was OK but the service and the vibe are off. We were a table for two and we were seated in a place where it felt like we were in the middle of a walkway. I don't normally think of any place as too loud, but I couldn't hear my dinner partner across a tiny table for two. The waitress had very limited bar knowledge, like didn't know what a dirty martini or blue cheese stuffed olives were. Cocktail prices were crazy for the South Metro! Stopped in Saturday around 5pm and while it was busy we were seated with no wait, which was great. Upbeat vibe, decorated for the holidays, and despite how loud the ambient noise is during a rush, I had no trouble hearing the table conversation. The service was great, very attentive and prompt and the server was invested in our experience (I regret not being able to recall his name). We both had the Brisket Mac and we shared an order of the Parmesan Fries with Truffle Aioli. Everything was amazing. The Brisket Mac is indulgent and the combination of flavors is perfect. The onion straws are the best I've ever had. The Parmesan fries pair so well with the truffle aioli that I can't imagine one without the other. All in all it was a great experience at a new location for one of my favorite establishments and I highly recommend it. The drink selection is great and might be considered the main draw but the food and staff are amazing as well! read more

My son and I went to Brick and Bourbon this past Saturday for our 12:30 lunch. As we arrived, the hostesses were seating two walk-in tables of 20. And I overheard another patron request a table for 34* (all ball teams). B&B did not show hesitation to accommodate the unexpected groups. Neither Dan, nor his servers looked panicked or even slightly overwhelmed. They were very organized, moved with purpose and showed strong teamwork. From where we were seated, it appeared everybody, ball team and the regular dining customers, got smooth and professional service. I didn't feel that our food/bev times were affected whatsoever by the large groups; and we received our usual personal, attentive treatment (shout out to Calvin) And the truly talented chefs. Plus those fabulous bartenders. Wow! So happy Brick and Bourbon is showing such success and popularity in Apple Valley. We visited two days before Christmas, and despite how busy it was, the service was attentive and well-paced. The food was excellent -- we especially enjoyed the buffalo Brussels sprouts, hummus, blackened Caesar, and steak medallions. Everything was done really well. I had been to the Brick & Bourbon in Eden Prairie and Maple Grove and had great experiences. I took my family to the Apple Valley location and we were seated in a corner booth with a very obvious seal issue in the windows. It was freezing cold and the custom table they had in the corner was all wavy so it was impossible to set a drink down without a tilt. It came as no surprise when one of my kids spilled their drink. The service was good. My favorite appetizer was not available at this location (deviled eggs) which was disappointing, but I was excited to see they had my favorite entree (million dollar medallions). When they came out it tasted like someone poured liquid smoke all over it. It was not like my experience at the other two locations. I wouldn't feed that meal to my dog. read more

We tried Apple Valley's newest restaurant last night. We were not sure what to expect due to the many, many other restaurants that have been at this location. We were so pleasantly surprised. Walking in everyone was very welcoming and the atmosphere and vibe was great. The selection of menu items all sounded delicious and the prices were not over the top. There were four of us and we were all thrilled with our choices of drinks and meals! The service was attentive and friendly. We highly recommend that everyone should try this out.
